Thanks to the author and Netgalley, I read an advanced reading copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I expected an exciting Viking urban fantasy in the modern era, but unfortunately, it was more difficult, I progressed slower than usual. The main character's name was Lad Fleck in the first 30-40 pages, then it was Llad or Lladnar, when his viking ancestry came into the picture (please proof-read before publish, there were many other typos too). I don't think a name beginning with Ll is a genuine Viking name, rather a Spanish one, but I understand the anagram reference to the author's own forname. He gained special abilities, "powers meant for Gods" and some adversaries appear to bring him down (the minions were funny though). The novel was good in action scenes, but poor in dialogue and story building. It would have been better if "show, don't tell" principle was used (less expositions, more tension and vivid scenes).
