4/5 stars

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers, and Gloria Koster for allowing me to read and review this book.

This is a cute book about a favorite library book at an elementary school that gets checked out by a kid that has no interest in reading him, and eventually loses him. This book is told from the POV of the library book. It shows Bob, the library book, being afraid of never being read and loved again.

This is such a cute book that I believe any parent should read to their child, and that every library should have, as it teaches the importance of returning library books. It also shows the joys of reading books.

Capstone has a good line of story books to support library and book handling skills. "Overdue" is a great addition to the collection by sharing the story of a popular library book who is taken home and forgotten. Meanwhile the other kids are missing Bob the Book as much as me is missing his home in the Library. Recommended addition for elementary school librarians.

This book was very good and would be awesome for kids of elementary grades. It teaches how to treat your library books and to return them on time. I can see us reading this before we go to the library for the first time!

I found it very hard to rate children's books so everything is a 5 star read for me!!
I really loved this book, the illustrations are so beautiful and captivating that I found myself smiling through every page I read.
The story itself is very beautiful and inspiring <3

The former librarian in me had to take a look at this story about a lost school library book. The bright and colourful illustrations portray diversity and align with the text: the humourous voice will make Bob a new favourite character! The 'Book Care Tips' page included at the end presents an excellent teachable moment. While this may not be of award winning quality for literary merit, this book would certainly be a great inclusion within a school or public library.

Thank you to Netgalley and Capstone for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this so much. The story was cute, but informative; I also loved the illustrations! I work in a library, so I've seen a lot of overdue books. This would be a great book to share with little ones to help teach them proper etiquette when borrowing materials.

I really enjoyed this book and thought it was very informative about libraries. This would be a wonderful book to read to children when introducing them to the library system at school. Thank you Netgalley and Gloria for this book.

What a cute book about books! Overdue follows Bob the book as he's checked out from the library and promptly forgotten about. When he's finally found, Sebastian decided to read him and find a new favourite book. The library book care tips are a perfect addition to the book to teach kids the proper ways to look after their borrowed books. A perfect book for librarians and teachers to add to their shelves!

A quick, fast-paced read about borrowed books and how to take care of them. It's fun, entertaining, well illustrated, with even tips to keep them in good condition. A nice read!

I LOVED this book!!! It was entertaining and informative without being overdone. This book would be great to use in libraries and classrooms to remind students to take care of their books. Beyond the book care tips, it was just simply fun! I loved following along with the book as it went on an adventure to Sebastian’s house. This book is a must read!

This book is so adorable! It’s such a great way to talk about how library books connect us and the life of a library book!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review and I love it!

5/5 Stars - go get it!

As an Elementary School Librarian, I am often talking about book care and reminding students about overdue items. This book has a simple but clear message about taking care of library books. The pictures are great, I love it all! This is on my summer purchase list and will be the book I use for Boom Care lessons in September and January.

Go get it! Thank you Capstone for the opportunity to review this great title!

A very cute book! The personified books were very endearing, and would help students to understand the importance of returning library books. The very end of the book did not particularly resonate with me- with the student who had had the book the entire school year getting to check out the book for the summer. My students do not check out school library books over the summer.

Read an ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a review.

This is a very cute book with a nice little lesson in it. Bob is an adorable book who loves to be read. The worst thing happens when he gets checked out by a boy who then totally forgets about him. What will be his fate? My kids really liked reading this book.

This book is a really good way to both teach kids about how to care for library books, but also it's such a neat story. I love the idea that the other books missed him when he was lost.

This is such a cute little story that is perfect for librarians to read with students as part of library orientation. Instead of just getting a list of arbitrary rules about how to treat the books, they now have a spokesman for treating books well through the personification of Bob the Book.

This is such a wonderful book for librarians and teachers to use to teach the importance of taking care of books, especially when they are checked out and being taken home. (PS I absolutely love the cover of this book!)
Bob the book is loved by all his classmates and gets to go home and have a wonderful time with so many children, until one day he goes to the Forester home. He is mistreated and NOT READ and then gets lost in all the clutter of the house. Bob is then forgotten. It isn't until a note comes home from the teacher that says this book needs to be brought back before the end of the school year. Dad tells the kids that they have to find the book and Sebastian does end of finding him and reading Bob. Bob becomes his favorite book and Sebastian gets to have him over the summer as well.

I love the tips at the end of the book that teach children how to take care of books!

OH NO! THE DREADED MISSING LIBRARY BOOK!

I loved the diversity of children attending Wisdom Hill Elementary School.
Bob is a super popular book that struggles when being mistreated at a new home. How will he survive?!
The care tips in the back we such a smart addition.

This was a cute book about a popular book who gets lost and then found. Great for elementary readers and their families.

Ok, this book was way too cute. As an elementary school librarian, I have been on the adult side of this situation far too many times. I love the was this story gets into the mind of the book and imagines what IT must be feeling when it is left under a bed, on a shelf, in a cabinet, etc. I will definitely be purchasing this book and adding it to my list of books to read to kids for my beginning of year library book care lessons.
