I've been a Briar Boleyn fan since snagging the first three thanks to Netgalley.
This series has been such a fun retelling, with a interesting cast of characters. All good things must come to an end, and I have to add this series to my list of book hangovers. If you like spice, fantasy and some classic Arthurian vibes this series is a must!
Exciting series. Thank you to NetGalley for all four books so much better when you can read a series all at once and not have to wait! Draven and Morgan’s relationship took time and I enjoyed the slow build up which added to the overall plot and the steamy scenes we’ve been waiting for.
I absolutely loved this series! This first book had me hooked from the start, the characters are so lovable which just builds more & more through each book. I’ve loved reading them one after the other and spending each day with them. Definitely recommend to all romantasy fans!
Overall book: 4.5/5 ⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
First, I want to thank NetGalley and Starwater Press for giving me the opportunity to read this book. I gave this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars. While I thoroughly enjoyed this book I think I was just very sad to see it all end.
This book was full of action (both war and spice 😉) It took us on the final leg of the mission that Morgan and Draven were on to find and defeat her father and save the world. Throughout this book I felt ALL of the emotions, I was so happy and fulfilled with the love that Morgan and Draven share but also heartbroken by some of the characters that we lost within this book. It was a rollercoaster of emotions in the best way.
Briar Boleyn’s world building is *chefs kiss* The way she pulled it all together in this last book was truly a masterpiece. I would recommend this series to anyone into the romantasy genre.
Things you can expect from the Blood of a Fae series:
• enemies to lovers
• troubled, abused FMC
• “touch her and die” MMC
• found family
• epic battles ⚔️
This may have been the quickest read for me the anticipation got me sooo bad. The amount of love in this book makes your heart feel so warm before it completely destroying you, especially since now it is over. Honestly, I would have read 70 more books in this series if Briar Boleyn had wanted to write them! It was overall just a very pleasant, interesting, and fun series to read! I am glad that I read it!
I was given an ARC copy of Knight of the Goddess to read in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to NetGalley and Briar Bolyen!
Knight of the Goddess is the fourth book in the Blood of the Fae series. It was a very quick read for me! Boleyn does it again with her exceptional writing. This book did not disapoint in any way. Boleyn did a fantastic job of tying all of the story together. I was worried at first that the ending was going to be predictable, however I was pleasantly surprised!
I know that in stories such as these where battles and wars comences that there will be death, possibly many deaths. I wasn't mentally prepared for a certain death of a personally beloved character of mine. I won't give it away who it was, but know future readers, it will be devastating.
I wish this story had been longer and the reader given more time to get to know Medra and to become invested in her. As for other main characters, I felt frustration particularly with Morgan and her character development in the third book, Empress of the Fae. My feelings towards Morgan did not change with the fourth book. I feel Morgan didn't live up to the potiential that she could have been.
Ultimately, I'm hoping Boleyn will continue writing about this fantasy world she has created in future books and that this world will not end with the Blood of the Fae series. I'm looking forward to reading more from Briar Boleyn.
“Love made us strive to be better than we were. Love lifted us. Love carried us. Love made our flaws forgettable. Love was our saving grace. Love was the greatest adventure.”
Love is the theme in book 4 of the Blood of Fae series. Family is not always blood & more often than not comes in the form pure love, adoration, respect and protectiveness for another. Knight of the Goddess is filled with not only love but growth, self discovery, found family, loss, devastation, heartbreak…plot twists…but conclusion…answers.
I’ve been obsessed with fae book, so this was a fun read to continue the Morgan fae world. But there’s nothing harder than being at the end of the book series.
Damn I loved this series!! I'm so disappointed it's over.
I think this book brilliantly concluded this amazing journey the entire series has taken us on. This was such an original, wonderfully-written series. I've read over 70 fantasy/romantasy books this year and this series was by far the most original of them all!
I truly wish there was more so I could continue on with Morgan and Kairos' journey as they rule over both kingdoms and live their lives together. I would love to find out the answers to the questions Morgan has about where the fae came from originally.
I really hope one day Briar decides to revisit this story and expand on it so I can find out what happens next in one of my favorite stories of all time.
Thank you netvalley and publisher for a digital copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
Sorry to say…DNF. This series did not improve, despite me trying to push through. See my other reviews on the previous three books.
It’s difficult to flesh out a review when it’s the fourth and final book in a series but I will say that Knight of the Goddess is a nonstop, emotionally charged adventure with so many twists and reveals that it truly kept me at the edge of my seat!
Morgan and Draven find themselves facing an ancient evil, one with a long history that has its tethers deeply imbedded in the realms, and the two will do whatever it takes to stop it. As they embark on their journey, Morgan begins to feel the weight of what will happen should they fail. But the love they have for one another and their family truly shines and provides the strength they need to face the unknown and protect their people.
Morgan and Draven have such a deeply embedded and steadfast love for one another and it is everything!! Both stubborn to a fault and willing to die for the other; their emotions bleed from the pages and it’s hard not to get caught up in it. The fact that their story has ended actually hurts my heart because I love them so much! 😭 These two are eternal. And that throne scene?! IYKYK.
The second half of the book pulls no punches and ramps up the action as the lore embedded throughout the series comes heavily into play, and the ending is a wild ride that doesn’t let up.
Knight of the Goddess is truly a deeply satisfying and incredible conclusion to the Blood of a Fae series and opens the door to more stories in this wonderful world and I can’t wait to take the journey!
This is definitely one of those series I plan to reread again and again.

I was so torn between a 3 and a 4 star for this read, this is the 4th in the blood of Fae series and probably my 2nd favourite behind the 1st book which I really enjoyed.
I wish we got to explore the magic of the main characters a little more, and the potential of discovering mythical creatures carried through from book 1.
Having said that, this book has the same pace as the first and I enjoyed how things unraveled in the last 30% of the book.
I didn't love this book like I did the others. The plotting and character development are the main reasons. I did not like the turn around time for the big bad battles, especially since there were a ton of unnecessary character deaths. It felt rushed in comparison to the other books in the series and left me feeling like the Happily Ever After was not fully deserved because there actually wasn't enough of the war to be seen (a feat that I suppose was trying to be solved by the endless character deaths). Medra was the other main issue. I never like the raised for slaughter plot points and this one was aggressive due to the quick aging of the character who did not have the cultural context or social skills to truly understand what she was doing. I felt like her inclusion made the rest of the story feel too rushed and that her inclusion was not a necessary solve for the big bad.
Firstly thank you to the author and her team for sending me arcs of this series. It’s been such a pleasure to read Morgan and Kairos’s story 💖
With that said - wow. What a spectacular way to wrap up the series. This book gave me all of the feels. I absolutely loved that book one started off with a quest to find an object and in this book Morgan and Kairos are on a quest to find themselves (literally). This author and this book specifically writes about some very hard topics like grief and mental illness extremely well.
I will forever refer to this series as ACTOR but more adult and spicier.
Favorite quotes:
Morgan - “I see forever with you by my side. Because long after these scars have faded away to nothing, I’ll still be standing beside you. You and I? We’re eternal.”
Kairos - “Families aren’t meant to be perfect, Morgan. Anyone who ever claims to have a perfect family is lying. Have you seen mortal families? They squabble and hit and lie and...”
Morgan - “Love, the one force in the universe that no one could ever fully explain. Love, the candle in the dark that led us through the night and softened all our sorrows. Without love, life was a starved and empty thing, for there was no hope, no joy without it.”
I'm so happy I finally could read the last opus of this Saga. I've suffered with Morgane all along and this book closes her story with Draven with panache !
They have to defeat Morgane's real father, who is perhaps more than a mere fae. And they will face adventures and perils. But at least, they will be together, united, and madly in love.
All the good ingredients for a great fantasy quest are here, and I enjoyed every moment of my reading.
If books one through three are considered amazing, book four is absolutely out of this world! Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn is the perfect conclusion to a wonderfully fantastic, paranormal series about the most daring, headstrong, loving, and loyal woman put to words, and the amazing Fae/husband that stands by her side, supporting her through thick and thin. This book is the culmination of everything the first three books have been leading up to, and the reader finally sees what it is the MFC is actually capable of both on her own, and as part of a couple. This book will make you laugh as well as make you cry, and you will beg not to have the series end. Thankfully, Ms. Boleyn has a spinoff series coming out shortly, and the readers won't have long too wait.
Loss for words. Moved. Bittersweet.
I still can't believe that this series is finally over. I just can't.
I was already sobbing so much while reading the last few chapters. It was intense, heartbreaking and very emotional.
Seeing some of my favorite characters gone literally gutted me to the core.
But despite those sad feelings, I also feel relieved and happy to see Draven and Morgan lived a happy life and Kaye waking up and making the most of his childhood.
That particular scene on the book where Crescent showed a room with all of Medra's memories, that scene literally hit me so hard.
I literally choke on my sobs. It was so hard for me.
The whole book was so hard for me to finish because all I can think is that I'm not ready to say goodbye 😭💔
My Heart Hurts!
This was a tragically beautiful ending to such a dark and magical adventure. Morgan and Draven face so many hard goodbyes and devastating reunions as they take their final journey to save the world.
Briar has written such a beautiful series that did not shy away from showing the real tragedy of a war among Kingdoms or even those who believed themselves to be Gods. The plot was forever evolving leaving every twist unexpected, the shocking ending was well done, such a good “trust the process” example, because in the end EVERYTHING mattered!
The characters continued to develope and heal, the vulnerability and grief they traverse is unimaginable. I continue to mourn the lovable characters who did not make it to the final chapter, such a strong writing ability to bring characters into the heart of your readers!
I am sad knowing this is the end of such a soul shattering journey, I will probably still be on the floor with my unchecked emotions for another solid week!
Thank you Briar Boleyn, Starwater Press, & NetGalley for the opportunity to read Knight of the Goddess.
Have you read a book series (or watched a tv series) & you have invested a fair amount of time into it, and even though you don't "love" it anymore, you still feel like you need to see it through to the conclusion? That's a bit how I felt with this book the more I read it. I'm glad I finished & I still generally liked it, but I felt the ending was a bit meh (shoulder shrug). I am not a person who takes extensive notes/tabs while reading, so the reveals of who the main characters were (without going into total spoiler territory) had me confused initially. I figured a more involved reader saw the clues, but I tend to read as an escape/when I'm sleepy, so maybe it's just me. I also did not like the story arc or conclusion for Medra. While I understood it & can suggest no major changes, it still feels like she was robbed. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC opportunity.
This series is an amazing rollercoaster ride and I wasn't ready for it to end. It consumed my thoughts the entire time I was reading and I will definitely go back to these characters to revisit their story all over again. Draven becoming soft for little Medra made me love him even more. I made up so many theories in my mind while reading but none of them proved to be right.
That little glimpse of on wings of blood was enough to intrigue me and left me wanting more. Excited for more work from the author.
