The fourth and final installment of this series met every expectation. All of our favourite heros returned, we watched some grow. We watched some... well we said goodbye to some friends too. It was heart warming, heart breaking and a lovely HEA. The final battle scene had me speed reading and ignoring my children. I loved this series and would recommend it to any fantasy/romantasy reader who also likes a tipple of arthurian lore on the side. Thanks Briar Boleyn this series will stay with me forever!
Knight of the Goddess was a good concluding book, and it wrapped up the entire series in a nice, neat way. The action started much earlier than the previous books, which I liked, and it was easier to get into the book much sooner. The plot dipped a bit in the middle and I did find myself questioning how relevant some scenes were, but overall, the pacing was good. I didn't feel like any of the character deaths were unnecessary, and while I wasn't overcome with emotion at any point, I did feel for the characters and what they went through. It was interesting to see Morgan and Draven deal with their grief, of their friends, and the guilt of leaving Medra behind. I did find myself feeling a bit lost during the end battle. The transition from the journey to the final fight was a bit harsh and intense, and confused me.
Overall, a good book to conclude a good series!
This book broke my heart. I was so sad a few times but with that being said I loved it.
The ending left me with more questions as to where the fae originally came from. I hope the spin off is just as good as this because it was amazing.
Oh wow, what an ending to this story. I finished this book in record time as I could not put it down. This was a good conclusion to the series and one of the better series I have read in the last few years. I cant believe we are now done with Morgan and Dravens story. I have so many feelings about this series..
I do want to know what Crescent has done to Briar to deserve this.. this man could not get a break or a happy ending.. my heart hurts for the guy.
I do feel that the final part of the book, the conclusion was a bit rushed after many chapters of the journey to get to the mountain to poof the big fight and the big villian all being gone and done for, and was hoping for a bigger part of Morgan and Draven. But in the end i really loved this book and this series, would recommand it to everyone!
LOVED IT SO MUCH! Wonderful writing and the story was so incredibly captivating. I can’t wait for more!
Loved! Great series!
This is the last book of this series. With Morgan and Draven responsible for their new niece, Medra, and Kaye still in a coma, the plan to stop Morgan's birth father isn't going to be easy to achieve. Her father has sent her brothers and sisters after her to cause chaos in other kingdoms; hopefully catching her in the process.
Her father has been dream walking with Morgan every night, trying to lure her back to him. He needs her powers now more than anything. But when he finds out about his granddaughter, Medra, he wants them both.
Draven refuses to let anything bad happen to his mate. Knowing that her father is in her dreams every night scares him. Morgan and company decide to go to her father with the grail and Excalibur, hoping that he'll have the spear so all three can be destroyed. If they are all destroyed, her father will die at last!
But they have big obstacles along the way to conquer and sadly enough, not everyone makes it to the end.
A great read!

Knight of the Goddess (Blood of a Fae, Book 4) - Briar Boleyn
I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this story.
Briar Boleyn is a Canadian author, however that is her pen name. Her real name being Fenna Edgewood – a bestselling romance author, with books such as her Gardner Girls series.
Arthur is now dead, so who can blame Morgan and Draven for hoping for a chance at peace now. But the danger is far from over and closer than they ever thought. Leaving orphaned little Medra in the care of their most trusted friends and people – leaving on a quest to end the evil once and for all.
Morgan and Draven are on a quest to find all three cursed objects and destroy them all – the sword, the grail and the spear. They have the sword and the grail yet the whereabouts of the spear still allude them, but they keep pressing on – to keep little Medra and their people safe.
Yet the closer they come to succeeding on their quest the more they learn, the more secrets thought lost to time and legend they slowly begin to uncover. Not everything is as it seems, the legends they were told did not come to pass or occur as they were taught – even they are not who they really think they are.
Knowing and learning these truths could threaten to undo it all if they let it...
“Knight of the Goddess” is the conclusion to Briar Boleyn’s Blood of a Far series. After the action and the writing of the first three stories in this series I was expecting big things from this last instalment of the series. While it was an enjoyable read it did leave me wanting a little. I expected more action, more thrills and more suspense – more character play in the interactions especially between Morgan and Draven. Everything felt a little mediocre and lackluster with some scenes seemingly not been written to their full conclusion.
The one where everything is terrible and all your favorites die. This is the fourth and final book in the story, in which your heroes go on an epic journey to try to kill a god.
I enjoyed this book, but in a lot of ways it felt rushed and often didn’t wrap things up in a way that felt satisfying. There were a lot of things that I wish had been explored in more depth, such as what happened with Rychel, and how Medra came to be how she was. I’d have loved more history about how the grail, sword, and spear came to be, and more insight into the origins and courts of the fae.
Even so, I enjoyed the series and am definitely looking forward to reading her upcoming spin-off series when it’s available!
This whole series has my heart now... all the characters are complex and sad. And I just wish that the ending was better for literally every character. The story at the start felt a little dragged and the ending felt rushed.
This was an amazing end to the series. I have loved all the books but Briar really outdid herself with this one. It tore my heart out and stomped on it but I adored every second.
I feel like my soul has been ripped apart and put back together again… the joy I felt while reading this book, combined with the anticipation and the love and the heartbreak was absolutely amazing.
Knight of the Goddess is the fourth and final book and didn't disappoint in the slightest.
I was glued to the pages, desperate to know what happens next during my work days! This was tied together fantastically and made me gasp on several occasions due to not expecting what happened. This book brings the conclusion to Morgan and Draven's story and their quest to destroy the artifacts and destroy Gorlois le Fay, Morgan's father. Its full of adventure, loss, angst, romance and LOTs of desire and spice. We were given POVs from multiple characters which was a great touch! The pace of the book is steady and makes you not want to put it down.
This book series is super friendly to those who haven't had an interest in fantasy romance prior and honestly is such an amazing read that I will not forget.
What an absolute stunning conclusion to a roaring adventure. Everything came together to bring us a hell of a finale. It’s such a hard moment to realize as each page turns you’re coming to an end, but man it was a magical ride.
The series has so many aspects that any fantasy reader will love. We had bloodshed, magic, adventure, enemies to lovers, heartache, magical creatures, objects of power, and powerful figures moving this story along into four wonderful books.
“It will be my great honor to fight at your side once more.” He leaned down and kissed me, quickly but fiercely. “All or nothing, my silver one.”
Morgan is a fierce being, and following her into the unknown was a wonderful experience. From chasing down a sword with an unknown Draven, to falling in love, being surrounded my enemies who turn to friends, falling into failure and rising from that failure she proved she is truly a force to be reckoned with. I had a great time following along to her development into a powerful being.
I went into this prepared to feel a lot of emotions. About half way through I realized I was not at all prepared. (It was wonderful feeling I promise). The twists and turns had my stomach in knots while reading. The chaos following our characters was so much to digest at some points. Briar did any amazing job of connecting all these small details to bring us into a complete story. I’m sad to be saying goodbye to these characters but so happy to have been able to experience their journey. If you haven’t already you should be putting this series as your next read!
First of all, thank you to NetGalley, Starwater Press and Briar Boleyn for allowing me to read the ARC to "Knight of the Goddess" in exchange for an honest review.
Legends of Camelot, but make it fae!
What a grande finale.
I swallowed this books, inhalted the words like they were my life elixir and I could not surive if I do not keep reading, this is how invested I was into knowing what will happen, always greedy for more.
And frankly, even now, after it coming to an end, I am still in need of more.
I do not want to dive in too much into what was happening in the book, everything could just expose too much and I want everyone to pick those books up and read them for themselves, but it was fantastic. An end that made the story justice, with so many plot twists sometimes, it made my heart race and my head spin.
And the end? It broke and healed me at the same time.
I will forever hype up this series and will do my best to recomment it to everyone and everything so it gets the recognition it deserves. Not only is the story outstanding, but the author has a way with words that is just... enchanting.
Knight of the Goddess is the fourth and final book in the Blood of a Fae series. Morgan and Draven are left to raise Morgan's sister's baby Medra and must deal with trying to establish peace and prosperity in Camelot after the war. When dark forces start to come after them, they must leave their niece and journey to get rid of the evil that seeks to destroy them all.
I really enjoyed this series and felt that this was a great book with a satisfying conclusion. I felt that from the first and second book that Morgan has seemed to grow up so I'm glad there seemed to finally be some character development. I enjoyed all the side characters and spoiler alert- there seems to be a spin off series which I am interested in getting my hands on!
Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
(2.5)
I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this series from beginning to end as an arc reviewer and I'm super sad it's ending! This is the epic conclusion to the Blood of a Fae series where Morgan and Draven unite against the foe they've been fighting for longer than they thought.
I loved seeing the domestic relationship develop between Morgan and Draven and learning more about all the side characters. The multiple POV is always my fav because I love seeing the inner workings of Morgan and Draven and was stunned at the third POV added (no spoilers but omg).
My biggest take though is that I wanted "more". More character development, more chapters, etc. Just more in general. While I appreciate every fantasy book not being 700+ pages, I felt like the shortness of this one hurt it a lot. All the big reveals and deaths and plot twists were stacked right after another so the impact wasn't as meaningful as I hoped it would be. I barely could process one event when another one was happening which kind of downplayed the previous events. I was also hoping to see more character development with Morgan, the FMC. While her naiveté makes sense in the first two books because of how sheltered she was and her age, I was expecting her to stop making reckless decisions and begin thinking more rationally but instead of that, she just kept getting more and more power as her development which kind of felt like giving a child a gun and not teaching them where the safety is. Occasionally she would do or say something very mature and profound but then turn around and do something that drove me crazy. Of course she is still pretty young (early 20s?) but I thought after all she went through and being with Draven would have matured her up more.
I still love Draven and seeing him be more paternal in this one was adorable. I do like how much he's on Morgan's side and how he supports her with anything she chooses to do.
The plot twist at the end was insane and honestly made up for some of my issues with the book but I still wished it was more drawn out. I still would recommend this series to people though! Overall it's a solidly good Romantasy that could have been even more amazing if it was a little longer!!
I laughed, cried, swooned, giggled, screamed, almost thru my kindle across the room, laughed & teared up again. This 4th and final book was a satisfying ending to a wonderful series. Filled with action, adventure, love, heartbreak & loss, this is a must read series. The character growth and love story of the main characters thru out the whole was beautiful. The magic, world building, twists & turns kept me invested until the end. I will miss these characters.
Whoa! This series finale is like a rollercoaster dipped in magic sauce! I mean, seriously, WOW! It's got everything from laughter to tears, with a side of 'I wish Draven was my hubby' thrown in (who wouldn't?). Morgan's growth is off the charts, staying true to herself but leveling up like a boss. And talk about feels – this book breaks hearts left and right, but every loss feels purposeful and hits you right in the feels.
If you're into King Arthur remixes, Fae folklore, and a big serving of love and friendship, this series is your jam! Each book gets better than the last, and the ending? Perfecto!
Knight of the Goddess wraps up the Queen of Roses saga in a whirlwind of adventure, secrets, and epic battles. Morgan and Draven, along with their crew, are on a mission to stop ancient evil from taking over, and boy, is it a wild ride! The world-building is so vivid you'll feel like you're right there beside them, dodging danger and uncovering forgotten truths.
And can we talk about the characters? Morgan is the epitome of kickass, fighting for justice and rocking those magical powers like a pro. And Draven? Total heartthrob with a side of golden retriever energy – swoon! Their chemistry is off the charts, and I'm already missing them!
But it's not just about the main duo – the whole gang is fleshed out and oh-so-real. Even the side characters shine bright, adding depth and flavor to the story. And the emotional rollercoaster? Get ready to bawl your eyes out, especially during Nightclaw's heroic sacrifice.
The action-packed finale had me flipping pages like there's no tomorrow, and those battle scenes? Pure adrenaline rush! Briar Boleyn totally knocked it out of the park with this one, weaving together history, fantasy, and heart-pounding action.
So, five stars and a standing ovation to Briar Boleyn for this epic conclusion! Can't wait to see what she conjures up next!
Ich mochte die gesamte Reihe sehr gerne! Toller schreibstil, leicht zu lesen und ein guter Plott 😊
Ich habe sie sehr gerne gelesen und konnte total gut folgen!
A perfect conclusion to this series. It broke my heart, put it back together just to break it again multiple times. Was totally worth it for the way things ended.
The story was action packed with twists and turns and I couldn't have asked for a better ending.
