NOW THIS is how you finish a series! Bravo! All of my questions answered, resolution on every part needed. And still incredible story! Often times a last book will either leave you with questions unanswered OR they answered them and finish it well but it’s boring.
This was a great ending to this series! I am so happy with how it ended and the growth the main characters had throughout. This series will always hold a special pace in my heart and I cannot wait to see what Briar writes next! She is an auto buy author for me now
This book wrapped up the series but unfortunately the ending and the big character deaths just didn’t do it for me. It felt like a bit of a cop out after such a huge build up over the first three books and for me, it just didn’t feel like the series was rounded off nicely in the way I expected.
My thoughts on this book are kind of all over the place because a lot happens. The first, and most pressing in my mind is that Crescent deserved better. The loss this poor man has to endure in this book is cruel for someone who is normally so bright of spirit. By the end, I just wanted to give him the biggest hug.
Draven, too. That man doesn't let himself love many people. And he shouldn't have to say goodbye to so many of them by the end of this. (Read: Be careful who you, as the reader, let yourself love. Because there's a good chance you'll be heartbroken by the end.)
As for Morgan. Her biological family can jump off a mountain. Nearly all of them were seriously awful. However, with that being the case, I did really enjoy watching her tear them down one by one. This queen has it all.
Now, I think the biggest hold up for me at this stage of the series was Medra. Her anger, I understood. And I get how she related to the prophecy. But the rapid growing... I almost would have preferred for the prophecy to be referring to Morgan through some twist or forgotten line. There just wasn't enough time for me to really connect with this new character in the fourth book and then care as much as I knew I should by time the prophecy comes to fruition. But thank god for Odessa. I've liked her and her bristly nature from the start. When she refused to let Medra push her away and continued to show her only patience and love, I truly adored her.
I hate to say this, but while the rest of the book, and series over all, was exciting and a fun twist on a retelling, the ending felt... less than what I hoped for? Though, I'm not entirely sure what that was. Morgan, Draven, and company had bigger fights against bandits. Then, when they get to the big, bad, this new person shows up, things go down, and poof. It's done. And then Morgan has to sacrifice more and do what she's never wanted, which I hate for her, even if I understand the motivations behind it.
I also desperately wanted an epilogue. Something where it shows Morgan and Draven free of those aforementioned obligations. Where they're free to live. To love. Maybe to create their own kind of family, however that may look.
I liked this book. And this series as a whole. There were some areas that left me wanting, but all the best bits were there.
Having been an ARC reader since book 1, I was not wanting to finish this book since it's the last of the series but l'm so glad I did! I have loved every single book, while this one may have been my least favorite because it just seemed rushed to me, it still exceeded my expectations and I will forever recommend the whole Blood of a Fae series. Briar Boleyn writes beautifully and I love her character and world building in every book. I cannot wait to read her next series!
Can’t believe I’ve finished the series! There’s so much that goes on in every book and tons to enjoy. I’ll try not to spoil but as this is the fourth book in the series, bit difficult not to. A lot of the overall plot points come together and are finalised and we also have some new ones being introduced. Boleyn shines in balancing the new and old plot points well, I wasn’t confused with any of them. She’s also quite strong in forging relationships and the characters that come with them. They’re well-written, likeable, I want to root for them to achieve their goals. The villains, too, are quite well-written and complex. I like having a good villain (not like good deeds/hearted good, you know what I mean).
Morgan and Draven have been though a lot and they still continue to go through a lot! Can’t they catch a break? Let them just relax, watch a play together, just sleep for most of the day rather than having to put our fires and swing swords constantly. But, even though they were hounded by literally everything and everyone against them they still managed to have their happy and sweet moments! I’ve loved them together from the first book (Enemies-to-lovers, need I say more?) I love that they rely on each other so easily. They’re connected to each other, know the others’ strengths and weaknesses. Able to step in and help wherever needs be.
Plus, I’m always up for a man who loves a strong woman. Draven’s been like that from the first book – oh, Morgan’s holding a sword? Draven’s basically got heart eyes. He’s more of an ‘alpha male’ type character (and mostly those don’t want their female love interests to be equal in strength, or even stronger) and he isn’t upset. Which made me like him more.
There’s a lot in this book, just like the rest of the series so while I want to recommend it to a lot of people; it definitely can get confusing quite often. But there are readers (me, most of the time) who like confusing books so it works!
A satisfying conclusion to the Blood of the Fae series. The confrontation readers have been awaiting arrives in the last fourth of this novel and it does not disappoint. It would be a shame to ruin this series by saying more.
Thank you Saltwater Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc in return for an honest review.
This final book was a perfect ending for the series. The world building was great, as always. There was so much acrifice in this book. So many paths came to an end, and it was a good series finale.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I have read the first three in the series, loved the perspective that Ms Boleyn brought to a classic plot, but this last one was a bit forcing. The series could be finished in three books. I hardly finished and forced myself.. I am so sorry for this comment but the story have ended for me already and there were almost no loose ties to follow. Technically the writing was simple yet eloquent and enjoyable. Thanks
Solid conclusion to a great series! But how things took a turn! I was not expecting the reveal at the end! I was also definitely intrigued by Medra and look forward to seeing more of her story.
“I see forever with you by my side. Because long after these scars have faded away to nothing, I'll still be standing beside you. You and I? We're eternal.”
What an incredible ending to the series!!! Wow, just wow.
I have no words to describe how much I loved this book.. From the series, second was my favourite but now 4th tops it all , hands down. I will be honest, I was not expecting it to be a bomb because third book was kind of disappointment for me. But I'm amazed by the whole book and what an ending to the blood of fae saga.
Earlier I have liked and disliked both Morgan and Draven , Draven less so than Morgan because she was so immature before but I kind of loved them both in this book. With no stupid mistakes which is generally how it goes in most books, Morgan and Draven both grew up.
Love, the one force in the universe that no one could ever fully explain. Love, the candle in the dark that led us through the night and softened all our sorrows. Without love, life was a starved and empty thing, for there was no hope, no joy without it.
With love, there was strength. Love held us up and kept us from falling. When we found it, we clung to it and we never let go.
Love made us strive to be better than we were. Love lifted us. Love carried us. Love made our flaws forgettable.
Love was our saving grace. Love was the greatest adventure.
Their characters had no flaw, well except one when they got too cheesy sometimes that it even made me feel nauseous but we'll they are "mates". I personally feel that this "can't keep my hands of you" trope can be toned down a little because well, sex isn't something that is always on mind of normal human beings. But on the other hand, Draven and Morgan ain't really human beings so what a mortal like me know?
This book had everything, the burn, the love, the wanting, the banter, the adrenaline rush it gave me while reading. OMG seriously. and the reveals in the end, will I be too far fetched If I say that I had figured out in book 1 itself? About Morgan of course not about Draven, that was a total shocker. And of Morgan's father as well . That was a surprise too.
Now that I have read the book, I'm already missing the series and want to start it all over again.
Some quotes I loved from the book
Families aren’t meant to be perfect, Morgan. Anyone who ever claims to have a perfect family is lying.
We see what we want to see, when it comes to the ones we love. Sometimes it’s only too easy to blind ourselves.
----------------
Love was more than sharing pleasure. It was taking on another’s pain.
----------------
Did you know that I will love you forever? That I would die for you? I will love you for a hundred thousand years. And then a hundred thousand more after that.”
Nothing would take away what I had found. Nothing would take away the man who stood before me.
----------------
Love, real love, was standing by his side even when I didn’t think I deserved to be there. Real love meant sticking around even when all of the sorrows and horrors made me want to run the other way.
----------------
We had lost people we loved.
But there was still this. A kiss worth all of the pain and all of the heartache.
----------------
You cannot keep one who wishes to be free. No matter how much you may wish to.
----------------
If one couldn’t make a choice on who to love in such a long life, what was the point of it all?
----------------
If only you had learned at one point in your miserable, overly long lives where true power lies. Not in taking. But in letting go.
----------------
My destiny lay not with the woman who sought to claim me as her own, but with the one who had always held my heart in her hands.

Thank you Netgalley and starwater press for the amazing ARC in exchange of an honest review.
"Nightclaw watched her the way I sometimes sensed Draven watching me— as if he couldn’t take his eyes off her. As if she were the most beautiful thing in the world to him."
I absolutely loved this book and the way that it made my heart race, gave me physical chills, made me cry, and even audibly gasped at times. One moment, I was thinking about how absolutely BADASS Morgan has become, and the next I was screaming, NO NO NO WTF in my head.
The first chapter had my brain going wild with questions. Is this a true or regular dream? Is Kaye going to turn into one of the children? Is Morgan going to sacrifice herself!? I was constantly trying to predict what would happen next, and I was always surprised.
Oh, Draven. My favorite character throughout the series, but my love for him was solidified with this book. The instant bond between him and Medra and the visual of him wearing a baby carrier holding baby Medra had me in awe. The way he teased Hawl for making Sunstrike freaking patê to help heal her injured wing. The way he respected Morgan and would lay down his life for her.
The spice! Fueled by fear and uncertainty with the future, Draven and Morgan were not taking their time with each other for granted.
This book was a roller coaster of emotions. I was not even a quarter of the way through the book when my heart started racing and characters started dying. The tears! The connection I felt towards some of these characters was so strong that I felt myself grieving alongside Draven and Morgan. During Chapter 12, one of the scenes gave me physical chills and goosebumps, but they didn't stop there.
Although I am so sad that the series is complete, it ended perfectly.
Thank you, Briar Boleyn, NetGalley, and Starwater Press for the ARC of Knight of the Goddess in exchange for an honest review.
multiple pov • dark romance • fae • dark fantasy • fated mates • animal companion • elemental fae magic • dark fae courts
Another Arthurian mythology/folklore inspired Romantasy tale that is sure to find it's loyal fanbase out there in the world. I will say, the tension built in this series is especially excellent!
I would like to thank NetGalley and author Briar Boleyn for this amazing serie and adventure. It was a great pleasure.
Where to start?
First of all, this is has been an amazing journey, and what an end. Before you start, just for you to know, no character here is safe. Author knows how to make you cry.
Secondly, I would like to talk about the growth Morgan did throughout all four books in the series. She start from the scared character that doesn’t know who she is, to a very powerful one.
As all the women in this book!
Draven. Oh Draven. I really really didn’t like him in the second book, and started to change my mind in book three. And totally in love in book four.
Negative note, this book was at some point confusing to read. Otherwise, it would have been a full 4.5 stars.
And… yes! This book has the spice.
This was a very nice conclusion to the series. It wrapped up most of the storylines and there was even a nice twist towards the end. I would really love another series or book about the main characters to follow up on them.
Helo! Now what do I do with my life? The cholehold this series had me is ridiculous honestly. I even got my sister obsessed. It took me awhile to get around to this one because I didn't want to end my journey.
Now that I have. Why do we have stupid emotions? Because the heartbreak of this book? UGGGGHHHHH. Just a beautiful series and I'm so much happier having read it.
This is the fourth and final book in the series and it was a good read but I think that it could have been wrapped up and made into a trilogy. Overall, it was an enjoyable read and I would read the entire series again.
This series was not for me. Nothing against the author or anything. Some series just don’t grab my attention. I would probably try it again another time
This was such a great conclusion to the series, it was heartbreaking to lose some of my favorite characters and I wish that Medra had more of a story, her development felt rushed and I don’t think we were able to fully appreciate the sacrifice she made.
I cried when nightclaw died 😭 I held out some delusion that he survived and when we met nightpaw I cried again.
Thank you NetGalley and Briar 💕 can’t wait to see what books you put out next!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Author for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review of the fourth and final book in this Blood of a Fae series
This high fantasy romance retelling of Camelot, Morgan Le Fay (not as a witch, but fae), King Arthur, Merlin, and the infamous mythical Sword, the Spear, and the Grail.
A continuation and final book in this story following Morgan and her mate Draven have the hardest battle yet and it takes the lives of many they love and respect left in its wake. This rendition is so much more than the tales I've read over the years or depicted in television or movies. The characters are more complex, and their paths intertwine with them to help them achieve their goals and protect their lands, people, and families. I was swept away by their love story, the path that led them back to each other, and the mission they were destined to complete. This book took me the longest to read because it was the last and I knew it would be over once I was done. I thoroughly enjoyed this rendition and loved the addition of fae. It made sense to include them since magic was part of the story so why not have more magical creatures?
For those who love Arthurian tales and spice (because it's filled with spice), this series should be on top of your TBR.
