And the saga sadly ends with the fourth and final book, Knight of the Goddess. I'm in awe how Briar made this Arthurian retelling a mindblowing series, full of action, slow burn spicy romance, enemies to lovers and mystical creatures!
I really liked this book, but I felt a little left down, probably due to my high expectations after reading the last three.
I loved the Dual Pov between Morgan and Medra. It makes the story so much more interesting and gave more insight in the life of Medra.
One thing that bothered me was the lack of grieve the characters were showing when there was a death happening. I mean, they were not mourning over the loss of a dear friend, just plainly sad. Also I expected huge and epic battles, but while reading there was a fight and then it just stopped.

Knight of the Goddess - by Briar Boleyn
The latest and last instalment of the 'Blood of a Fae' book series. I enjoyed many elements of this book, but found myself rushing to finish this book because I wasn't as gripped as I wanted to be. The spice felt repetitive and at times unrealistic, the throne scene was an interesting development. You can see how the author was influenced by Iron Flame last year. Briar Boleyn has proved she can write spice well in the past but was influenced this time I feel.
Some of the twists in this instalment had me reeling though, heart-breaking events throughout and the author is not afraid to drop characters which I love. Nobody is safe and this series did need that amazing unpredictability.
The downside I think for me was the focus on explaining everything with magic or goddess/gods, I think that is a step away from more realistic fantasy for my personal taste. Rapid aging and sudden abilities to fast travel when the last three books had a much slower pace walking across kingdoms feels a little lazy by the end just as a plot device to get things moving. I appreciate others would love this though.
Reader warning: trigger warnings throughout, but there is a helpful list at the back of the book. This book will heart your heart.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book wrapped up a series that I couldnβt get enough of rather nicely! It had a lot of great elements of adventure, fantasy, and action. This is not the type of book I typically read, but I am so glad that I requested this series!
The final book in the Blood of Fae series had me through the majority of the book but let me down due to the rush of the ending and action scenes that would arrive out of nowhere but all in all a great end to a good series. I ahead a few tears cause some parts were sad but I can see myself reading this series over in the future.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Sadly I was so invested in this series this book let me down. Everything felt rushed and and the ending was just βpoofβ Thats it the finale. I wanted to love it, but it left me with a meh felling compared to the rest of this series.
Such a marvelous ending to a great series that I found via Netgalley. The end to Morgan and Draven's story was never going to be easy. They loved, lost, and gave it everything that had until the end. Sad to see it end, but so excited for what else this author has coming soon.
Morgan and Draven have been on an endless roller coaster of pain, battle, and death for the sake of two continents and the people/fae on them. This final chapter will determine everything. Will Morgan's true father wield the three powerful relics or will Morgan be able to stop him from destroying them all?
What a ride! This series has been so much fun. The characters are amazing and I connected with them immediately in the first book. The journey of discovery that these people go on shows how much thought the author put into their development. I will say that the ending is a tad underwhelming. I expected a few things to happen to show that the curse of the Siabra had been broken and I was left hanging. **Wink wink** I will provide a touch of criticism here as well that a lot of this installment felt like it belonged in other books/movies. I was getting major Iron Flame, Lord of the Rings, and Clash of the Titans vibes throughout this book and, honestly, it didn't feel necessary. It felt like an intentional nod to these works or like popular elements plucked to make the story feel familiar. I don't know. But, overall, loved the series. Don't regret a thing.
What an incredible end to the series!
I was hooked, on the edge of my seat and couldn't get through this quick enough.
Morgan and Draven's final quest saw them joined by their closet friends, but despite the incredible range of skillset between them all, it isn't an easy journey.
I was obsessed.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This series is interesting but feels too similar to other trending books for me to fully separate plots.
thank you to netgalley for a free arc of this book in exchange for an honest review
not gonna lie this one felt a little rushed. a lot of action which was at first exciting but then it felt like things were happening randomly/too quickly with not much story/plot build up until the end. and damn was this sad
still a satisfying conclusion
What an epic conclusion to this series! I was rocked by all the twists and turns in the story. I can't wait for more from Briar Boleyn in the future. Until next time Happy Reading!
I want to thank Starwater Press for this ARC via Netgalley.
I really enjoyed this series but the ending was extremely abrupt. I was on pins and needs from about 70-90% and then it just all ended. For as long as I invested in this series, that was a pretty lame ending.
This is the final book in the series and honestly, I did not want the story to end. I couldn't imagine a world without Morgan, Draven, the Exmoors and everyone else in their circle. "There is darkness in all of our souls. But there is also light. Just because the darkness threatens doesn't mean the light won't win out in the end." The author makes realistic, though heart-breaking, decisions when it comes to character deaths which play important roles in the plot advancement as well as development of the central characters. Their grief, trauma, heart-break, love for one another all drive their actions as well as the need to save the people of Camelot and it's neighboring places. This book sets the stage for Morgan's final quest to destroy the grail, the sword and the spear through which she discovers truths not only about herself, but her family and her origins. As she moves to confront this truth, it's a race against time to save the people she loves. The finale though slightly predictable, is very well executed and provides the much needed closure to this beautiful series! We all need the kind of love Morgan and Draven have. This can be felt from this one quote: "Be everything you truly are. That's all I'll ever ask of you, my silver one." With this concludes my journey through Blood of a Fae, a series that I highly recommend for fans of retellings of legends with magic, romance and adventure all wrapped up in one!
Well that definitely rocked my world a bit. The freaking plot twist at the end there really got me good. I did NOT see that coming. The world building in this book was insanely good! I love the fantasy twist on a classic tale.
I got so attached to some of the side characters that Iβm a little mad about how that all played out, but I get it. All is fair in war or whatever.
The cub! Iykyk. ππ
The amount of storytelling that went into this series is just amazing. Every chapter everything just got better and more intense. The author wasnβt afraid to sacrifice characters for the good of the overall story. The twists and turns and turmoil that was the creation come to life was awesome. With how much changed throughout the book I would have expected it not to flow but the story was a nail bitter and transitioned smoothly. I am sad the story is over. The characters I came to love were all buttoned up in the end and we got to have answers. I love this authors writing style and how the story building and plot are written. I will definitely be buying from this author again!
I was sent this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review for a full review see my Amazon and Goodreads pages.
I loved this series! I can't wait to read more by this author!!
Thank you to Netgalley and Briar Boleyn for the eARC copy of Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn.
I have been an ARC reader since the first book (Queen of Roses), and became a fast fan of the Blood of a Fae series. I feel really grateful to have been a part of this journey!
The final book brings Morgan and Draven's Arthurian retelling story to a close, completing their quest and solidifying their relationship. If you are seeing this review before seeing Queen of Roses, please consider finding Queen of Roses by Briar Boleyn and giving the series a go.
The final book was a great conclusion to an epic series that as always took us in twists and turns, emotional joy and turmoil, and a wonderful found family.
Definitely not for me. At least the main character grew up a bit and became less annoying! I appreciate the ability to read the full series but now I've learned that dark romantasy is not my genre.
What an ending! I absolutely loved the final book in this series. The tension, the ultimate quest, the evolution of the characters and their relationships, and the twistsβboth unexpected and shockingβleave you stunned.
In this book, Morgan, her mate, and their companions embark on a quest to find precious artifacts to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands and potentially causing the end of the world. Along the way, surprising revelations about their pasts come to light.
It's always a bit sad to finish a series. I've watched the characters grow and evolve, and there's always a touch of melancholy when it all comes to an end. Nonetheless, I'm eagerly looking forward to reading more works by this author.
Thanks NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for a chance to read this book for free. I'm leaving this review of my own accord.

The Knight of the Goddess is the 4th and final instalment of Briar Boleynβs Blood of Fae series. A loose Arthurian retelling of Excalibur, Lancelot and Merlin among other familiar characters.
The Knight of the Goddess brings an end to Morgan and Dravenβs story and their quest to destroy the artifacts and Morganβs father who wishes to use the artifacts (grail, sword and spear) to dominate all of the kingdoms.
This book is told in multiple POV with Morganβs voice being the one we hear the most. Morgan and Dravenβs eternal love is tested and strengthened while their friendships and found family stay true and loyal.
I wonβt spoil the ending or most of the plot of this story but will say this is my favourite instalment and the author really came into the story toward the last two book. This is a 4 star read for me.
