A collection of 3 novellas, Mistletoe Season includes Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller, The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham, and Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts. I have read and enjoyed two of these authors before and I was looking forward to a fun holiday-themed collection of stories. Unfortunately, my overall experience with this book was just "meh." While I am certain this book will find its readership, none of these stories was particularly memorable for me.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction for gifting me with an ARC to review! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was an enjoyable group of short Christmas stories centered around the theme of Mistletoe. I requested this one solely for Pepper Basham's Mistletoe Prince as I had not heard of the other 2 authors before, but since I have absolutely loved Basham's series surrounding the Edgewoods, I jumped at the chance to read this one early. And though I enjoyed all of the stories, I'll confess Basham's was my favorite. It had me laughing and crying and it was good to "see" Luke and Ellie again from Loyally, Luke. If you haven't read that one, this one will stand fine on its own, but if you have, you'll enjoy seeing some old friends as well!

This book opens with Kathleen Fuller's Return to Mistletoe where Emmy's first crush returns home for the holidays. This was a sweet story with older main characters, which I enjoyed as an older person myself. I found Emmy and Keiran relatable and enjoyed their tale. The middle story was The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham, which I adored. Arran and Charlie had a not-so-cute meet-cute, but I loved how he slowly won her over and helped rekindle childhood dreams. I also enjoyed the re-visit to the Edgewood clan. The final story was Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts, which was my least favorite of the three. The story was good, but the main character was immature and I didn't really like her. Since it was written in first person from her perspective, that skewed my enjoyment of the story. But it was well written and had a good ending. All of these were what I would call "Christian light" with the faith thread in the background and a bit more subtle, especially in the last one, but they are all completely clean reads, which makes them more enjoyable to me. If you enjoy contemporary Christmas romance stories with a bit of a Hallmark-y feel, this is a set of stories I would definitely recommend you add to your holiday reading. Special thanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for an advance e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

I love romance anthologies and at the same time they can be risky because the rating is dependent on ALL the stories. In this case of this book, I loved it! Each story was equally wonderful! Since the stories are Novellas I don't want to give too much away so I won't do a recap on them. That said all of them were so good I read them each in one sitting. The men in each story to me were the total selling point, while the women were more practical and cautious. Each story was unique and I feel they all wrapped up wonderfully. They did still have the novella -vibe, where the ending felt a little short or rushed. But all in all , all three stories delivered! And it has me wanting to read more books by these authors.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, a review was not required. This review is all my own opinion.

“Mistletoe Season” is a lovely collection of stories that all relate in some way to the Christmas tradition of mistletoe. E@ch story stands completely on its own, and they are all good cozy Christmas reads. I enjoyed two of the stories more than the other, but I did enjoy them all. I thought that “Return to Mistletoe” was a delightful holiday story with all of the feels and all of the warm fuzzies a reader wants in a Christmas book. The plot included some good characters and some good personal growth for those characters. I really loved “A Mistletoe Prince” with Charlie and Arran. Both main characters are well-developed and well-thought out. They have similar needs for growth on some levels and yet opposite on other levels. They were so very relatable, and I hated to see the story end. I wanted to know more and more about them! The third story, “Say
No to Mistletoe” was a little harder for me to get into, and just when I felt the story was going to take off, the book wrapped up! I enjoyed the overall plot of this one, but it was harder for me to relate to it for some reason. The writing style was just a little different or something, but it is still a lovely holiday read to get the reader in the mood for Christmas.

I requested a copy of this book for review. The thoughts expressed here are wholly my own.

This set of 3 novellas in one Christmas book is a very fun Christmas trilogy. I really liked all 3 stories, but Pepper Basham's novella that continues some of the characters from her very popular Edgewood family/Skymar series steals the show for me! I love heartwarming stories at Christmas and this trilogy of books, centered around Mistletoe delivers what many readers like me are looking for at the holidays.

I enjoyed how Mistletoe, used very differently in each of the novellas was a light connection in each. The writing is good, stories are all engaging and characters in all 3 are relatable.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thanks for the advanced copy of this book. I didn’t realize it was different short stories until I started reading. I very much enjoyed Sheila Robert’s Writing. It was in line with the type of books I like during holiday season. In all honesty I do not love books with royal aspect so I didn’t love the other as much.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the e-ARC of Mistletoe Season!
Rating: 5/5 star!⭐

This collection of three novellas is perfect for the holiday season! Each story brought the magic of Christmas to life, making it the ideal read for cozy moments.

Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller
Novella Rating: 4 stars
This sweet novella is about rekindling a high school romance, set in the charming small town of Mistletoe. It’s a heartwarming best friend’s brother story that delivers on the nostalgia and coziness of a family Christmas reunion. Even though it's a quick read, it totally captures the holiday spirit!

A Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham
Novella Rating: 5 stars
This was my favorite of the three! While it felt a bit lighter on the Christmas atmosphere, I loved the dynamic between the two main characters. Prince Aran was adorable and everything you’d imagine in a fairytale prince. The banter between the leads had me laughing and smiling throughout. It’s a dreamy, modern fairytale romance set in a small village, with a plot that flows beautifully and a great ending! I really enjoyed this one!

Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts
Novella Rating: 4.75 stars
This novella was the most comedic of the three! It perfectly balances the chaos and charm of a holiday rom-com, centered on a career woman returning to her hometown after living in New York. The unexpected twists, humorous moments, and heartwarming interactions made it a delight to read. I loved the 90s rom-com vibes, and the creative storyline left me wanting more. It could’ve easily been a longer novella!

Overall, if you’re looking for a lighthearted holiday romance, or something to read during family visits over the holidays, this collection is a must-add to your winter TBR. Each novella brings something unique while still capturing that cozy Christmas spirit! Highly recommend!

I really loved and would have liked to continue on in Emmy and Keiran’s romance! I will be looking for more from this author! This was a great collection to read and I will be recommending, especially for those trying to reach end of the year reading goals!

I usually find myself enjoying these Christmas novella collections Thomas Nelson tends to release each year, and considering I've loved previous titles by all three of these authors, I didn't expect this one to be any different.

Each of these stories is a fun, heartwarming Christmas story that centers in some way around Mistletoe, though not always in the most expected of ways. Each had all of the Hallmark movie vibes, and I could easily see any of these sweet stories being adapted for the small screen. It was an added treat that each story had subtle faith mentions, that just made me enjoy them that much more.

I actually didn't read the synopsis before picking this one up, I just went into it knowing it was a sweet romance Christmas novella collection. So it took me by complete surprise that Pepper Basham's contribution was set in her "Skymar" world, and I couldn't have been more excited about that. Her story was by far my favorite of the three, and I loved how it dived into some deeper topics like child neglect, and learning to rest in what our Heavenly Father says about us, instead of everyone around us.

Both of the other stories were also heartwarming and sweet, while also tackling a few deeper messages that I wasn't initially expecting when I went ahead and picked this one up.

Overall, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it for anyone who enjoys sweet, Christmas romances. Another fun release from Thomas Nelson, and one that I could easily see myself rereading in the future.

Final Rating: 4/5

Thanks so much to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to advance read and review this title!

The story of 3 couples, each with their own story and love for Christmas, though in different towns. 1st Emmy and Kieran. Emmy is a lovely woman who recently opened her ascetics and coffee shop because she loves Christmas. Kieran, Emmy's best friend and brother, happened to live in Scotland, but after nearly 26 years he came back to visit her mother and celebrate her 70th birthday and meet Emmy, the one lovely girl he went to prom with when he was still in H.S. So spark ignited and the love in the air couldn't be ignored, not when Emmy, after all these years, still kept her crush on Kieran.
The story about Charlotte Edgewood and Prince Arran St. Clare from Skymar: Arran, after breaking up with his toxic girlfriend Angelica for finding purpose in life and also who he is, by his own accord and with his parents consent, decided to visit America and live with his sister and brother-in-law for a short time. He was supposed to visit her sister when her GPS broke, and he ended up in a local pub and got drunk and ended up behind Charlie's truck. Charlie is a carpenter, and Luke is his cousin; Luke is Arran's brother-in-law. Charlie lost her father, and her mother is in prison. When Arran very unprincely puked on her and also broke her nose accidentally, she lost all hope of him helping her in an upcoming charity for orphans, single parents, and poor children's, but when Arran shows how different his attitude is and he is a reliable and good guy, their friendship starts, which slowly turns to love.
Hailey Fairchild is a writer who lives in New York and wrote romance in which she fantasizes about her dreamy man but yet finds one, Carwyn Davis. Is a high school principal and knows Hailey from his friend Sam, Hailey's brother, so faithfully think that Hailey after becoming an author has failed relationships, which she called mistletoe cryptonic, she believes every time people stand under that thing they kiss and... so the story that Hailey after becoming an author has failed relationships, which she called mistletoe cryptonic. She believes every time people stand under that thing they kiss and... so the story is that for Christmas she went home to visit her parents and saw Carwyn, who she has had a crush on since high school but is too shy, introverted, and somehow nerdy, who every guy ignores, so she thought carwyn doesn't really pay attention to her even though she visited every basketball game he played in high school. They finally meet, find attraction toward each other, kiss, and again, the pretty story of 2 people found each other under mistletoe suitable for each other.

This is a fast-paced book, there isn't much of a plot, and it seems like all these happen in an aspect of just holiday time. There isn't much hesitation, and tbh, it's short stories, so you can't expect a long explanation. But since all the characters are mature enough, you also convince them that there isn't much plot needed. The authors tried to write some technical issues in life as well, like cheating, different status in society, different people who you wouldn't think are not even compatible but still found connections in each other, and also old feelings that maybe you ignore, but if they are destined, the feeling would never fade. I also liked how in each story the couple interacts with their friends, it makes the book sound more normal than a hopeful story, which sounds a little cliché.

I rate the book 3 and spice 1 because even though there is like kissing in there, the actual action is missing. But sure, there are little spark bubbles when you feel like a teenager reading a light novel and feel shy of them whenever they meet. The writing is light, and also the authors put some little teasing so the book wouldn't be boring, and also I think the fact that it contains different personalities in each story made it not so casual as well, so if you're looking for some light novel for Christmas with the theme of prince and poppers, a girl hitting puberty and also old feelings resurface. This is for you.

A cute collection of clean, easy romances. I loved the depth each one had despite being short stories. I also appreciated the mentions of God and trusting in Him in each story.

Three stories, three authors, and three different towns and people around the holiday season. It was a smooth flow from one story to the other. Each one has the holiday spirit, each one had different lessons that they had to learn, and each one was unique in seeing who they all were at the beginning of their stories and who they are at the end of their stories. As summer is winding down, As summer is winding down, it was a book that made me realize, Christmas stories are amazing anytime of the year.

Mistletoe Season: Three Christmas Stories by Sheila Roberts, Kathleen Fuller, and Pepper Basham is a heartwarming anthology that brings together three festive romances, each linked by the magical presence of mistletoe.

In Sheila Roberts' "Say No to Mistletoe," we follow Hailey Fairchild, a romance writer whose history with mistletoe has led to a series of comical and disastrous encounters with love. Returning to her hometown for the holidays, she dreads facing her past crush, Carwyn Davies, whose high school kiss under the mistletoe was anything but ideal. Roberts crafts a delightful tale of second chances and personal growth, blending humor and nostalgia with a touch of romance.

Kathleen Fuller's "Return to Mistletoe" transports us to the quaint town of Mistletoe, Missouri, where Emmy Banks, a lifelong fan of Christmas, reconnects with Kieran O'Neill, her old friend and secret crush, who returns from Ireland for his mother’s birthday. Fuller's story is a charming exploration of love and small-town magic, filled with heartfelt moments and a touch of whimsical holiday spirit.

Pepper Basham's "The Mistletoe Prince" rounds out the collection with a modern fairytale twist. Prince Arran St. Clare, exiled to a small North Carolina town, must participate in a local Christmas fundraiser to prove his worth for the royal life he’s destined for. With a blend of royal intrigue, personal transformation, and a budding romance with a spirited local woman, Basham delivers a fun and engaging story that celebrates the true spirit of Christmas.

Overall, Mistletoe Season is a delightful read for anyone seeking a quick dose of holiday cheer and romance. Each story offers a unique perspective on love and the magic of the season, making this anthology a perfect companion for cozy winter nights.

I enjoyed this collection of clean holiday romances by authors Sheila Roberts, Kathleen Fuller and Pepper Basham. These cozy stories have all the Hallmark vibes, and are connected of course by mistletoe. Return to Mistletoe and Say No to Mistletoe are both second chance romances, while The Mistletoe Prince is a country girl meets royal prince story. I especially enjoyed The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham as this story was about two side characters from Pepper’s book Loyally, Luke.

This book is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit with three quick reads, and I would recommend it for those who like sweet clean romance.

A Heartwarming Holiday Anthology: Mistletoe Season

"Mistletoe Season" is a delightful anthology that brings together three enchanting Christmas stories by talented authors Sheila Roberts, Kathleen Fuller, and Pepper Basham. This collection is perfect for readers looking to immerse themselves in the warmth and magic of the holiday season.

Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts

Roberts kicks off the anthology with a charming tale of second chances and overcoming past embarrassments. Hailey Fairchild's aversion to mistletoe, stemming from a mortifying high school experience, sets the stage for a humorous and touching journey of personal growth. The reintroduction of Carwyn Davies, Hailey's former crush, adds a delicious layer of tension and romance to the story. Roberts expertly weaves together elements of humor, nostalgia, and romance, creating a relatable and enjoyable read.

Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller

Fuller's contribution transports readers to the quaint town of Mistletoe, Missouri, where Christmas spirit is always in the air. The story of Emmy Banks and Kieran O'Neill is a beautiful exploration of the conflict between love and personal aspirations. Fuller's writing shines in her portrayal of small-town charm and the gradual rekindling of a connection between the main characters. The antique shop setting adds a touch of whimsy and nostalgia that perfectly complements the holiday theme.

The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham

Basham rounds out the anthology with a modern fairytale set in the heart of Appalachia. The story of Prince Arran St. Clare's journey of self-discovery in Ransom, North Carolina, is both entertaining and heartwarming. Basham skillfully balances the fish-out-of-water elements with genuine character growth, creating a story that is both funny and touching. The addition of a romance with a woman who helps Arran see beyond his royal facade adds depth to the narrative.

Overall Impression

"Mistletoe Season" is a perfect blend of holiday cheer, romance, and personal growth. Each story in the anthology offers a unique perspective on love and the magic of Christmas, while maintaining a cohesive theme throughout the collection. The authors have created memorable characters and settings that will linger in readers' minds long after they've finished the book.

This anthology is ideal for those who enjoy feel-good holiday romances with a touch of humor and depth. It's a great choice for cozy winter nights or as a gift for the romance reader in your life. "Mistletoe Season" reminds us of the power of love, community, and the special magic that seems to fill the air during the holiday season.
