Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller — Kieran O’Neill has returned to Mistletoe, Missouri, to surprise his mother on her 70th birthday. He reconnects with his sister’s best friend, Emmy, and feelings grow between the two. But there’s no way a relationship between them could work because Kieran will be returning to Ireland to start his next project soon and Emmy won’t leave Mistletoe. Or is there?
The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham — Prince Arran St. Clare has been banished to the small town of Ransom, North Carolina, for three months until he can show vast improvement in his very unroyal behavior of late. He’s tasked with helping his brother-in-law and to also assist in a Christmas charity fundraiser. Both tasks have him working with Charlotte. Arran’s sister is happy spending part of her life in Ransom, but would the same be possible for Arran?
Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts -- Mistletoe is not Hailey Fairchild's favorite holiday tradition. Every mistletoe kiss she’s had ended badly. When she returns home for the holidays, she reconnects with her former neighbor, Carwyn Davies, who she crushed on in high school. Now he seems to be interested in her and Hailey can’t deny that her old feelings are alive and kicking. Is it possible that the hunky former star of the basketball team could seriously be interested in her? Even if he was, her job is in NYC, and he won’t leave their hometown. This was a fun holiday read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I alternated between the video version of this book and the e-book version. The narration of the audio was done by Tonya Ebby. The narration was great with easy distinction between the male and female characters.
This was an anthology of three Christmas stories. The stories were Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller, The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham, and Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts. My favorite was the story by Sheila Roberts. It is about a romance writer who is having no luck with any romance for herself. She believes that from past experiences, mistletoe is a bad thing. It may take an old flame from her hometown to prove her theory wrong.
Thanks to Harper Collins Christian Publishing and NetGalley for the copies of this book. All thoughts are my own.
I adored Pepper Basham’s royal novella. Hit every right note and had me highlighting each witty, wise saying. I will definitely read that novella again. The other two were sweet, but Charlie and Arren’s story reached into my heart and had me rooting for them against the odds.
Cute, cute and more cute! This trio is perfect for a fun Christmas read. They all have an underlying faith thread.
Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller
Heartwarming story of second chances set in the quaint town of Mistletoe decorated for Christmas. Relatives conspire to match Kiernan and Emmy when Kiernan returns from many years away. Family values are clearly shown and the atmosphere is cozy and nostalgic.
A Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham
Hilarious and a decidedly uncute meet! Snarky comments between Luke and Charlotte steal the show. And the names Charlotte has for Arran are so funny: Royal Rascal, Snoring Sovereign, Mouthy Monarch and Prince Nosebreaker. It was wonderful to connect with the Edgewood family again.
Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts
A romance writer who has bad luck under the mistletoe. This is a very funny rom-com with a favorite trope of heroine comes back to the hometown and meets her highschool crush. So many cute quips. I laughed a lot and the final mistletoe kiss was perfect.

"Mistletoe Season" is a compilation of 3 holiday novellas. In "Return to Mistletoe," Emmy's childhood crush, Kieran, has returned to their town of Mistletoe after living abroad in Ireland? Will Kieran come back to stay or return to Ireland before their romance can blossom? In "The Mistletoe Prince," Prince Arran is sent to a small town in North Carolina as punishment for his playboy ways. Prince Arran spends his days doing hard work and volunteering his time to help people struggling in town, including the beautiful woman, Charlotte, who is heading up the season charity event but struggles with her self-worth. Will Arran starts to learn the error of his ways? In "Say No to Mistletoe," author Hailey Fairchild, is going back to her hometown for the holidays to spend time with family and promote her books. Will her childhood bully and her childhood crush recognize the woman she's grown into?
These holiday novellas were cute, however, they rushed through some major plot points and could've each done a better job with about 25-50 more pages. In "Return to Mistletoe," the FMC has a grown daughter who doesn't help advance the plot at all. The story would've been cute with just the two childhood friends reconnecting as adults. "The Mistletoe Prince'" had the most potential of the 3 stories, but there were no transitions between scenes, so it was hard to tell if the scenes were happening the same day, days apart, or a week after the events in the previous paragraphs. In "Say No to Mistletoe," they mention that the FMC has an ex-boyfriend who stole money from her, but that plot point never gets explained thoroughly or resolved.

This trio of charming, sweet, clean Christmas romances will warm your heart and put a smile on your face.
Sheila Roberts (Say No to Mistletoe) and Kathleen Fuller (Return to Mistletoe) are new to me authors and their stories were a fun introduction to their work.
Pepper Basham's The Mistletoe Prince is easily my favorite of the three and worthy of a five star rating on it's own! For those of you, like me, who love her Skymar series, you will love revisiting some favorite characters.
*Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the ARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed all 3 of these stories each one and very good put together in one book. Of course, I have read all of Sheila Roberts Books and I have read Kathleen Fuller but Peper Basham is a new one for me. This book is a VERY GOOD CHRISTMAS book. I highly recommend it.
This is a trio of sweet and clean Christmas romances. All three women find love unexpectedly. In 'Return to Mistletoe', Emmy no longer expects romance. Her best friend's older brother Kieran, who was her high school crush, visits from Ireland. Kieran is starting to be charmed by Mistletoe and Emmy. In 'The Mistletoe Prince', Charlie wished for a prince when she was a girl, but now she doesn't believe in them and Prince Arran isn't who she was wishing for. In 'Say No to Mistletoe', romance writer Hailey believes that mistletoe is kryptonite for her. None of these kisses ever turned out well for her. Now back to her hometown, she will run into her high school nemesis as well as the first boy she ever kissed under the mistletoe. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I like all three of these stories. There are some amusing situations that will put a smile on your face.
All three of the stories in Mistletoe Season are charming, funny, sweet, and swoony! They’re the perfect reads to get you in the mood for Christmas!
Return to Mistletoe
This story was so adorable! Mistletoe, Missouri does Christmas in a big way! Of course it would with a name like Mistletoe, and I adore reading stories set in cozy, small towns like this. I loved the characters, and I would read an entire series of books including them! Emmy and Kieran’s second chance love story was really sweet.
The Mistletoe Prince
I read all of Pepper Basham’s Skymar series, so this novella about cousin Charlotte “Charlie” and Prince Arran made me so happy! Prince Arran and Charlie’s meet-cute is a disaster, but Arran certainly makes an impression on Charlie! However, Charlie quickly realizes that first impressions aren’t always correct assumptions. Arran and Charlie are completely adorable together. Like Basham’s books, this is filled with lots of humor and lots and lots of heartwarming, swoony moments!
Say No to Mistletoe
Sigh! I was completely captivated by this story! Poor Hailey has had disastrous experiences with kissing under the mistletoe. She’s a successful author of romance books, but her own romantic life is non-existent. However, when she returns home for Christmas, she finds out that her first mistletoe kiss really was her happily ever after. I adored everything about Say No to Mistletoe and didn’t want it to end!
I highly recommend Mistletoe Season!

It's a fun & romantic set of Christmas novellas. None of them connected to each other, except for the Christmas theme and main characters with dating history disasters and/or a desire not to return to their hometown. Can each couple get past their histories and truly fall in love? I enjoyed all 3 novellas, but it was fun to see characters from Pepper Basham's Skymar trilogy as an Edgewood cousin tries her hand at possible true love.
I received an ARC copy from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
3.5 stars for the series as a whole.
- 3.5 stars for Kathleen Fuller's _Return to Mistletoe_
My second favorite of the three. A little wordy at times; I felt some editing would free up the word count to flesh out the story a bit--but the plot and characters were equally charming, and overrode my editing qualms to keep me reading and find out what happened!
- 5 stars for Pepper Basham's _The Mistletoe Prince_
This was the strongest read of the three! (And also the longest, which I definitely won't complain about.) Readers familiar with Basham's Skymar series will see several familiar characters here (YAY LUKE! That is all); beneficial if you've read those first, as this obviously includes spoilers, but if you haven't read them yet, that's okay too--now remedy it! :)
The story is really a sweet one, and laugh-out-loud funny. Basham is at her best here, just like Skymar; I feel she really shines with her contemporary stories and all their humor.
- 2.5 stars for Sheila Roberts' _Say No to Mistletoe_
This read was entirely too quick for me. It rang in with the shortest runtime (pagetime?) of the three stories, which didn't do it any favors: minimal character development and plot advancement, with the most conflict coming from Hailey's attempts to avoid mistletoe. The story was sweet enough, but its (lack of) length and a couple awkward character descriptions made it challenging to really invest in either of the MCs or root for their happy ending. I felt like I was reading a news story of their lives and wanted the _60 Minutes_ featurette. But, I did enjoy the Washington setting, and felt Roberts really captured the PNW Christmas spirit.

Say No to Mistletoe
(3 stars) This was an okay story. I didn’t feel much chemistry between the two characters. But I think there could have been--their backstory would have made it work, but this story just didn’t hit the mark for me.
Return to Mistletoe
(4 stars) Cute story. Another new-to-me author. The story kept my interest and wrapped up nicely. There was a lot of backstory that helped moved this story along and other characters who helped bring the entire story together.
The Mistletoe Prince
(5 stars) Pepper Basham is always a hit and this story follows a character from her latest group of novels. The story starts off with a bang and just never loses momentum. Sweet, redemptive, endearing, and just an overall great story.

A great collection of holiday stories. Each author brings their unique perspective but each story is filled with plenty of holiday touches.
Mistletoe Season is a collection of 3 stories from different authors. Pepper Basham treats us with a short story from her Skymar series that is just as fabulous as her full-length books. Sheila Roberts and Kathleen Fuller are new-to-me authors, whose stories were absolutely delightful. This book is festive with romance, kisses and wishes for the upcoming Christmas…uh, Mistletoe Season ;)
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions expressed are completely my own.
Grab your hot cocoa, fuzzy socks, and a fluffy blanket, this set of romance novellas is a cozy treat! These stories are packed the punch of a delightful holiday romcom movie. While I loved being able to read each story in one sitting, the length hindered the emotional depth I am used to from these authors. It is an expected tradeoff, but just something to set your expectations for going in.
If you enjoy reading clean romance novels, then I recommend this book to you!
Special thanks to the Publisher, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Net Galley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A trio of fabulous, swoony stories that will help get you in the holiday mood! Sweet kisses, lots of mistletoe, and heartwarming romance that will satisfy love story lovers for sure!
And all three of the authors have an amazing list of books that you should check out!
I received an advance copy from the publisher. My review has not been solicited.
This is a delightful holiday treat for readers who adore romance, Christmas magic, and the whimsy of the season, making it a perfect fit for anyone seeking a heartwarming and feel-good collection of stories to get them in the holiday spirit.
I enjoyed the three novella’s included in this delightful Christmas collection. Each story has its own unique charm. I hope no one asks me which one is my favorite because I am not sure I could choose between them. I loved each of them! Often novellas feel rushed with characters lacking depth. That is not the case with this collection. Each story has delivered above and beyond expectation! Multifaceted characters who each have their own strengths and weaknesses as well as growth. And the chemistry between each couple is electric! A page-turning delight!

3.5 Stars
One Liner: Sweet!
This is a collection of three novelettes set around Christmas and feature Mistletoe in some form. Set in wintery small towns, each story has a couple that will fall in love and a community with all the cozy vibes. All stories are Hallmark-style and can be a little too sweet for some.
TBH, I requested this book mainly to read Pepper’s The Mistletoe Prince. Prince Arran is Ellie’s brother, mentioned a few times in Loyally, Luke. I knew I had to read his story. The other two stories were a bonus. ;)
Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller – 3.5 Stars
Emmy Banks loves Christmas. After all, she lives in Mistletoe, Missouri. Kieran O’Neill has lived in Ireland, renovating a castle for over twenty-five years. He returns to Mistletoe for his mother’s seventieth birthday. Kieran is Emmy’s bestie’s older brother and a childhood friend. Renewing their friendship is easy. But what happens when they want more, and Kieran has to leave the town?
The story comes in Emmy and Kieran’s third-person POVs.
The characters are in their 40s, a good change from the younger romances. The setting is quite beautiful with the small-town vibe (where everyone knows everyone). The Christmas theme is also done well with an abundance of decorations, the winter fair, hot chocolate, etc. The romance is okay but I cannot help but wonder if it would have been better as a slightly longer piece. Even some 4-5 pages extra would have done the trick. It is still sweet, though.
The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham – 4.5 Stars
Prince Arran of Skymar has to spend three months in a small town in North Carolina, where his sister Ellie lives with her husband, Luke Edgewood. This ‘punishment’ is also a chance for Arran to become his former self and find out who he is if not a prince with a title. Charlie, Luke’s cousin and carpenter, is a tomboy hiding in plain sight and suffering from low self-worth. The Christmas fundraiser is her chance to prove her worth. Can the two broken hearts mend each other as the season works its magic?
The story comes in Arran and Charlie’s third-person POVs.
This is the longest story in the book, which means it has enough space for proper development and the traditional arc (including a sort of third-act breakup). Charlie and Arran are lovely characters and easy to root for. Luke has enough presence and adds charm to the plotline. Ellie and Penelope have a teeny scene each but that’s fine. The focus remains on the main characters and their growth. There’s a light touch of faith, similar to the other books in the Skymar series. Beautiful!
Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts – 2.5 Stars
Hailey Fairchild is a romance author whose love life is a mess, thanks to her Mistletoe weakness. Seems that she cannot resist men who kiss her under the mistletoe and learn her lesson late only to repeat the cycle. Of course, it all started with her crush on her brother’s best friend and the popular guy at school, Carwyn Davies. Back in her town for Christmas, Hailey is determined to break the cycle but life may have other plans for her.
The story comes in Hailey’s first-person POV.
This is the shortest and weakest story in the collection. While Hailey’s voice is quirky enough, I couldn’t connect with her. (Hard to when you end up calling the MC an idiot right at the beginning). There are quite a few tropes and with no space for exploration, the story feels underwhelming. It does deal with some important themes like bullying, lack of confidence, fears, etc., but the approach didn’t work for me.
*
Since it is a Christmas-themed sweet romance collection, I’m rounding it up to 4 stars (also coz I liked the story I wanted to read).
To summarize, Mistletoe Season is a super sweet set of three novelettes with a Christmas theme as the central point. Check out others' reviews before you decide.
Thank you, NetGalley, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, and Thomas Nelson, for eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.
Mistletoe Season is a collection of three Christmas stories that are perfect for reading on a cold day, with a hot cocoa and a blanket.
First story is “Return to Mistletoe” by Kathleen Fuller.
We have Emmy and Kieran in a best friend’s brother second chance romance. I liked that the characters are mature and my only issue was that it is too short. The problem that “broke them up” was solved too fast. But it is a cute story anyway.
“A Mistletoe Prince” by Pepper Basham is the longest story from the book and I liked that the couple had more time together. Arran and Charlie had a funny but painful first meeting and then they discover that they will work together. It feels like a Hallmark holiday movie and I really enjoyed it.
Last story is “Say No to Mistletoe” by Sheila Roberts. This is my favorite. Hailey is a romance books author that comes back to her home town to promote her book. She thinks that mistletoe brings her bad luck in love.
I liked that it is written in first person and it has quotes at the beginning of each chapter.
It is a second chance romance where he is her brother’s best friend and neighbor from childhood. I liked Carwyn from the beginning and their story is really sweet.
Even if it is short, the author managed to solve the long distance relationship issue.
