A very insightful book about astrology and unique ways to interpret our planetary positions. I liked the simple language used to suit all kinds of readers. Definitely what I had not expected, if I'm being honest.

This book can be used as a handbook, going to the chapter of your preferred sign to analyze and interpret as you wish. I learned a lot about my signs and how it affects my personality. Though sometimes it felt too generalized, it was accurate most of the times.

This is a good book to read if you are an astrology nerd and love to know more about yourself.

This book combines astrology and sex giving you a guide on how to get the most out of your sex life based on your astrological sign.
This book is shame free, sex positive and pretty inclusive.
Thank you NetGalley and the author for sharing an arc copy of this book with me. I’m leaving this review of my own free will.

We need more books like this - books that combine spirituality and sexuality and work to shatter preconceived notions and aim to dismantle our trauma and shame around sex. This book is the epitome of a judgment-free zone. Read if you want to see your sex life from a new perspective and an open mind. The text is not exactly "revolutionary," but I think that says more about how open we're becoming as a society and less about the content in the book.

I enjoyed how the book encourages the reader to engage with the text with meditations, embodiment exercises, and journal prompts.

I was surprised by the choice to focus on sun signs when other placements provide a more accurate description of someone's love life. However, I can see how focusing on sun signs has mass market appeal. I got the impression that this book was meant to be more fun than a serious text about astrology. The casual horoscope reader will understand sun signs, but not much past that.

On a technical level, it lagged in certain areas. The pacing could've been edited better.

For anyone getting into or even already well on their way into astrology, this book offers a great perspective that is easy to follow. I will definitely be buying a copy for my shelf.

As much as I would like to say I’m not much of a “woo woo” girlie, I kind of am. This is why I jumped at the chance to get this book. The book feels very well researched and thoroughly explained. The layout Is easy to read and navigate. I already have my birth chart (see what I mean) and this prompted me to get my husbands birth chart as well.

Over the last year or two, I have been trying to learn more about astrology. This book is another perspective I would never have thought to focus on within astrology, but it makes a lot of sense.
I learned more about each of the astrological signs, including their basics and how they influence a person’s sexual needs and wants.
This would be a great book to own physically or as an e-copy to reference at different times. It can be beneficial to learn more about yourself sexually and about future partners.
I also enjoyed that this book felt like there was little to no judgment towards the reader.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sounds True Publishing for the opportunity to read the eArc in exchange for an honest review.

This isn't a quick look up your sign and see how sexy you are. This is a thoughtful and informative book about how star signs and seasons affect our sex lives. Each section looks at our strengths and weaknesses. There are meditation and journaling prompts. This book can help you become a better you and enjoy your sex life more.

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book, in exchange for my honest, personal review. This was not a very interesting book for me personally, I found it a bit hard to follow/keep me interested. Hope someone else has better luck with this one!

This was a pretty interesting read, I would rather have the physical book. It’s something my husband and I can read together.

When I got approved for Sex and Your Stars by Stefanie Iris Weiss, I was excited to dive in. I've been looking to broaden my astrology knowledge, so this book immediately intrigued me.

I loved how Weiss, an experienced sexologist, seamlessly blends her expertise in sexology with astrology. The information presented is both informative and accessible, making it easy to understand her insights and objectives.

While I found the book engaging, I would have appreciated some reference pictures, especially in the tarot sections. However, this is more of a personal preference than a necessity.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Sex and Your Stars and would recommend it to an adult audience interested in the intersection of astrology and sexology.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sounds True Publishing for providing this book.

Absolutely loved finally hearing an experienced sexologist blend her knowledge and practice with astrology. I thought the merging was seamless and informative in a delightful way that made this book such an interesting read.

The only drawback to this book is that the astrology information covered was limited. Anyone well-versed in astrology knows that sex and romance goes way beyond looking just at one or two planets, and with the way modern astrology is trending, just sticking with one or two planets very much restricts how much someone can learn about themselves using the stars.

Thank you Netgalley and Sounds True Publishing for the digital ARC!

As someone who is actively breaking down the walls that purity culture instilled at an early age, I love learning more about how to be more present in and accepting of my body. When I came across this title on NetGalley, it was a no-brainer for me to read.

Sex and Your Stars is an entertaining and insightful guide to using astrology to better tune in with ourselves intimately. Having never read anything like this before, I loved it! I have a basic understanding of astrology and have recently enjoyed delving into it more, so this book was really fun for me. I kept my own natal chart accessible in another tab as I read this book, so that I could easily reference my Venus, Mars, and Lilith placements. It was also cool to peek at what my partner’s placements revealed about their own mindset, potential struggles, and interests,

Overall this was an informative and enjoyable read! Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC to read and review.

As an astrology enthusiast, I was quite excited to dive into ‘Sex and Your Stars’ by Stefanie Iris Weiss. However, my excitement quickly waned as I found the book to be somewhat disappointing.

Accuracy: ★★★★☆
Astrology is inherently subjective, but based on my knowledge and experience as a Taurus, the descriptions in this book seemed pretty accurate. The sections on Leo and Scorpio also reminded me of my partners, so there is a degree of resonance. However, I can’t fully speak for the other signs.

Perspective: ★★★☆☆
The book focuses specifically on astrology in relation to sex, which is a unique angle. However, it lacks the passion and depth that I expected from a topic as intimate and intriguing as this. The writing feels a bit dry, which is disappointing given the subject matter.

Relevance: ★★★☆☆
While the topic of sex and astrology is interesting, it’s not particularly relevant to a broad audience. It’s a niche subject that will appeal to a specific group of readers, but it doesn’t have wide-ranging appeal.

Engagement: ★★☆☆☆
The engagement factor was lacking for me. Even reading the Taurus chapter, which should have been highly relatable, felt a bit dull. The writing didn’t draw me in or keep my attention as much as I had hoped.

Readability: ★★★☆☆
The readability of the book is decent. It’s not difficult to understand, but it also doesn’t have a flow that makes it particularly enjoyable to read. The writing style could use some improvement to make it more captivating.

Enjoyment: ★★☆☆☆
Overall, I found it difficult to enjoy this read. Despite my interest in astrology and the unique focus on sex, the book just didn’t deliver the engaging and passionate content I was looking for.

‘Sex and Your Stars’ by Stefanie Iris Weiss is a unique book that combines astrology and sex, but it falls short in terms of engagement and passion. While it offers some accurate insights, particularly for those familiar with their own astrological sign, it lacks the depth and excitement one would expect from such an intimate topic. This book might appeal to hardcore astrology fans looking for something different, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

A fun book to read with your friends over a glass of wine. I didn't think there was a lot of new stuff about it but I liked the take on it. I also particular liked the shadowwork and journaling sections.

I really have been into learning about astrology more and this book Sex and Your Stars was an incredibly interesting read. I have been getting into reading more about astrology - Sex and Your Stars was a super fun read and it made me want to read more about myself as a person and I wanted to learn more about my star chart about my whole life. I liked how much this book made me think about all aspects of the book - there were prompts for journaling or thinking in every chapter and I liked how many resources the author gave to help learn more about our star charts.

As someone who has studied astrology for many years, I enjoyed Sex and Your Stars by Stefanie Iris Weiss.
I appreciate Stefanie's open tone and attitude toward sex and her encouragement to work through past trauma and shame.
In this book, readers may look up their sun sign or the sign of others to learn about the energy and ways to connect. The book also covers embodiment exercises, creativity and gifts, as well as challenges, shadow work, shame, and journal questions, all with a focus on sexuality.
Using the zodiac as a lens to contemplate sexuality is a fun and effective way to bring awareness and healing.
I would like for the book to have covered the rising sign, moon, houses, and aspects. However, I understand the author's decision to make the book accessible to those without prior study or knowledge of astrology.
I hope that through this book, more people discover the wonderful tool of astrology and its benefits!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for this eARC.

An interesting read for anyone looking into sexaulity in the zodiac signs. It goes in depth about the shadow work and how to better connect with yourself sexually

I love that this book combines astrology and sex, and how to get the most out of your sex life based on your astrological sign. I do think it's a little narrow with only focusing on someone's sun sign, because I think their moon and rising signs are just as important, but this is a good guide to get your feet wet when it comes to using astrology to improve your sex life. This book is very inclusive, and takes into account the pandemic and what kind of effect that had on everyone. This book is informative, shameless, fun, and most of all, a must read!

Thank you to NetGalley, Stefanie Iris Weiss, and Sounds True Publishing for the eARC of this book.

This book is jam packed with information about Astrology and Sexology. It’s a lot of fun to read about the different signs and what turns them on, etc… I love the rituals and insights the author shared at the end of each segment. I plan on doing a lot of them myself. The author doesn’t touch too much on other signs, she mainly focuses on the sun sign but I didn’t mind. I think that was a smart decision because a lot of people only know about their sun sign and if it got too into depth, it could’ve become a slog to get through. I know a fair amount about Astrology and still kept an open mind. This book is informative, fun and a must for your shelves.

Firstly, I would like to extend my gratitude to NetGalley, Stefanie Iris Weiss, and Sounds True Publishing for providing me with an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review.

I was thrilled when I came across this book, as I believe it's crucial for astrology to reflect society's expanding conversation around sex and sexuality, including those who are disabled or part of the LGBTQ+ community. As a sexologist and astrologer, Weiss seemed like the perfect person to take on this challenge.

Unfortunately, I found that the book fell short of its promise to provide a "revolutionary approach to shedding shame and understanding one's self" due to certain structural and content choices. One issue was the lack of clarity regarding the house system and Weiss's specific school of practice. While I understand that she has learned from various resources and has developed a unique practice, I believe that a book aimed at beginners should clearly outline the basics.

Another challenge was the use of sun sign astrology to understand sexuality. Although I appreciate the effort to make astrology accessible, I believe that using sun signs alone is insufficient to provide the level of detail offered in this book. The lack of consideration for house placements and aspects made the interpretations seem oversimplified and stereotypical.

That being said, there were some positive aspects of the book, such as the journal prompts and shadow work exercises. These elements were able to shine through when's not limited by the sun sign placements. Weiss was intentional in making this an inclusive and accessible resource, and I appreciated the effort she made to acknowledge various sexual minorities and remove a lot of the shame people feel about sexual difficulties. I think, if presented as exploration of the different sexual energies and challenges presented by each sign and season, with a short (2 - 3 sentence) delineation of relevant planetary placements- this book would read better.

In conclusion, while I had some reservations about the book's approach to astrology and sexuality, I appreciate the author's intentions and the positive aspects of the book. I would recommend this book to beginners looking to understand how the signs relate to sex omitting the sun sign interpretation and delineations.
