Description
A shame-free, sex-positive, no-holds-barred guide to understanding our erotic selves—both gifts and challenges—through astrology
Astrology offers a potent portal to self-inquiry, including the deep terrain of our erotic landscapes. In Sex and Your Stars, clinical sexologist and astrologer Stefanie Iris Weiss invites us to explore our sexual selves—as complex, confounding, and fulfilling as we are—through the lens of astrology.
“So much of what I see in my clinical practice can be addressed when we work through the shame we retain about our sexuality,” Weiss explains. “Sex and Your Stars will help you dissolve the shame you’re holding on to, no matter where you are in your sexual journey.” Weiss introduces us to each sign, illuminating its core gifts and common challenges. With keen insight, she reveals the many ways we relate to each sign—including as a Sun sign and as a season during the year. Subsequent chapters look at Venus and Mars, as well as explore how to discuss sex, intimacy, and creativity in astrology readings. Weiss supports us in navigating sensitive topics—including libido, sexual function, religious conditioning, and what turns us on. Somatic practices and meditations help us investigate and embody what we learn.
This guide to the elemental, archetypal sexual self can help us understand our erotic desires and relationships in ways we may never have allowed ourselves to consider.

The journey to sexual sovereignty begins with shedding shame and finding pleasure in our own bodies. Sex and Your Stars shows us how to use astrological archetypes to move toward erotic embodiment, making space for deep intimacy, transcendent passion, and secure bonds with our lover(s). “Reading Stefanie Iris Weiss’s Sex and Your Stars is orgasmic in just the way she wants it to be—starting in your brain. As a sexologist and an astrologer, Weiss draws on her expertise, experience, and transformative stories from her client files with concrete steps to move readers past any shame to become more of their true erotic selves. Although you can pick it up and read for your Sun, Moon, or rising sign, you’ll gain much more from reading through the complete book. We have all 12 zodiac signs along with three archetypes of desire (Venus, Mars, and Black Moon Lilith) within us, and Weiss shows us how to bring our whole chart alive in our bodies with a lively and loving touch.” —Sam Reynolds, astrologer
“Stefanie Iris Weiss has created an experiential, dynamic, and completely new way to explore and heal our sexuality. This is not just a book: it’s a portal into the way our bodies experience the seasons as they shift and change, using the archetypes of astrology. Weiss reminds us that pleasure is a force for healing ourselves, the people we love, and the Earth itself.” —Annie Sprinkle, PhD, author of The Explorer’s Guide to Planet Orgasm and coauthor of Assuming the Ecosexual Position
“Sex and Your Stars skillfully intertwines the scientific and soulful aspects of eroticism and astrology. Sex and Your Stars introduces fresh perspectives, evokes new emotions, and encourages transformative practices through the lens of astrology. This work serves as a vital addition to the astrological canon, providing valuable insights that both inform and inspire without judgment. A compelling read, it offers essential support in reclaiming pleasures and embracing a more vibrant and fully alive existence.” —Colin Bedell, author of A Little Bit of Astrology and Queer Cosmos
“Sex and Your Stars is a novel approach to solving sexual dilemmas using the language of astrology. The book shows us how to smash shame, engage with our desires, and choose to prioritize pleasure. A groundbreaking book that should be on the shelves of all sexuality professionals, it introduces innovative tools to help us understand and heal our bodies (and our souls), setting the stage for erotic empowerment and connection.” —Patti Britton, PhD, founder of Sex Coach U and author of The Art of Sex Coaching
“Many of us are looking for ways to understand ourselves better. We want to learn more about our sexual and romantic needs, what we require from a partner in order to feel safe and fulfilled, and how to express our emotions in a healthy manner. We want to be the best partner we can be to the person(s) we love, but we also don’t want to sacrifice too much of ourselves. We want a different approach to our analysis and introspection. Sex and Your Stars offers just that: a different way of thinking, a different set of questions, and a different way to view ourselves, our relationships, and the world. It’s a must-read for the spiritual soul who’s been feeling a little stuck.” —Zachary Zane, author of Boyslut
“Even if you don’t happen to be a keen believer in astrology, Sex and Your Stars is a wise book packed with profound insights, using the frame of our unique erotic archetype as a creative way to explore ourselves as sexual beings. As a sexologist, Ms. Weiss gets it, as evidenced by this quote: ‘Learning what feels good may seem like it should be a “natural” process, but often, it’s buried in layers of shame and societal ideas of what we’re “supposed” to look and feel like, no matter our sexual or gender identity, race, ability, age, or body type.’ Sex and Your Stars can help the reader engage with enthusiasm and playfulness in the quest to restore sexual pleasure as a healing force.” —Nan Wise, PhD, author of Why Good Sex Matters

Sexual astrology is a marriage of the modern science of sexology and astrology in order to provide an understanding of our sexual selves. Discusses the twelve sun signs. The moon signs. Rising signs an d Mars. Venus and black signs. Illustrations.
I really liked this. I love picking up books about topics I am not familiar with, and astrology is one of them. The mix of astrology and sexology was interesting and fun to read
Let's start with the sex. Stefanie Iris Weiss as a clinical sexologist clearly knows her stuff, and discusses all aspects of it in the frankest and most explicit way yet. It is scarcely a first to be combining the topics of sex and astrology on one book: Elvis Presley for example seems to have been particularly obsessed with using knowledge of his stars to maximalise his pleasure. No doubt this book would have delighted him still further.
And that is one thing this book teaches - how to get more sexual pleasure. Each Sign gets a meditation designed for them, whilst attention is of course drawn to the parts of the bodies their sign 'rules.' These may be erogenous signs for you, but if you want to really research the matter you might wish to read all the signs, not just yours, and experiment a little. And read the short delineations this author gives on your Mars and Venus signs too (there are also delineations for Black Moon Lilith if that is important to you). One caveat: obviously for issues related to the biological changes ageing brings, it can be seen that astrology and meditation won't preclude medical advice where needed.
This book is also very current. It acknowledges the trauma of isolation the pandemic brought, and is woke
enough, to use a loaded term, to be inclusive of all kinds of genderism, trans, differently abled and beyond. Weiss is erudite, there is a bibliography written at the end for those who seek more information.
The less good: there are elements of the cookbook here, with the delineations mentioned here. It is also a sun-sign based book, which is obviously fine for those readers who do identify strongly with their sun-sign and will feel affirmed by this emphasis. That did seem a little prescriptive where in terms of the sexuality discussed here, anything goes.
Regarding relationships and synastry however, this author is most likely right in that there is plenty here for most readers to learn from if they seek to use astrology to spice up their sex lives.
"Sex and Your Stars" resonated deeply with me, offering a shame-free exploration of sexuality through astrology. Stefanie Iris Weiss's insights prompted me to reflect on my own erotic self and confront any lingering shame. As I delved into the chapters, I found myself feeling empowered and curious about how astrology could inform my understanding of intimacy and desire. The book's practical exercises and meditations provided a safe space for self-exploration, allowing me to navigate sensitive topics with newfound confidence. Overall, "Sex and Your Stars" sparked a sense of liberation and self-discovery, making it a valuable resource for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their sexual journey.

I enjoyed how thorough this book was about astrology and sex. I have dabbled in a bit of astrology, but am not super knowledgeable about the topic so this book did a great job with explanations.
This book is great, so helpful and intuitive. You can pick and choose your sections you want to read, whether it’s your star sign or your partners, or you can read it one star sign at a time as each star season comes about. There’s journaling and excercises you can do, it’s a very hands on book. Anyone who is into astrology, into getting in tune with themselves or their partners definitely give this a read.
This book is jam packed with information about Astrology and Sexology. It’s a lot of fun to read about the different signs and what turns them on, etc… I love the rituals and insights the author shared at the end of each segment. I plan on doing a lot of them myself. The author doesn’t touch too much on other signs, she mainly focuses on the sun sign but I didn’t mind. I think that was a smart decision because a lot of people only know about their sun sign and if it got too into depth, it could’ve become a slog to get through. I know a fair amount about Astrology and still kept an open mind. This book is informative, fun and a must for your shelves.
I love that this book combines astrology and sex, and how to get the most out of your sex life based on your astrological sign. I do think it's a little narrow with only focusing on someone's sun sign, because I think their moon and rising signs are just as important, but this is a good guide to get your feet wet when it comes to using astrology to improve your sex life. This book is very inclusive, and takes into account the pandemic and what kind of effect that had on everyone. This book is informative, shameless, fun, and most of all, a must read!
Thank you to NetGalley, Stefanie Iris Weiss, and Sounds True Publishing for the eARC of this book.
An interesting read for anyone looking into sexaulity in the zodiac signs. It goes in depth about the shadow work and how to better connect with yourself sexually
As someone who has studied astrology for many years, I enjoyed Sex and Your Stars by Stefanie Iris Weiss.
I appreciate Stefanie's open tone and attitude toward sex and her encouragement to work through past trauma and shame.
In this book, readers may look up their sun sign or the sign of others to learn about the energy and ways to connect. The book also covers embodiment exercises, creativity and gifts, as well as challenges, shadow work, shame, and journal questions, all with a focus on sexuality.
Using the zodiac as a lens to contemplate sexuality is a fun and effective way to bring awareness and healing.
I would like for the book to have covered the rising sign, moon, houses, and aspects. However, I understand the author's decision to make the book accessible to those without prior study or knowledge of astrology.
I hope that through this book, more people discover the wonderful tool of astrology and its benefits!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for this eARC.
As someone who is actively breaking down the walls that purity culture instilled at an early age, I love learning more about how to be more present in and accepting of my body. When I came across this title on NetGalley, it was a no-brainer for me to read.
Sex and Your Stars is an entertaining and insightful guide to using astrology to better tune in with ourselves intimately. Having never read anything like this before, I loved it! I have a basic understanding of astrology and have recently enjoyed delving into it more, so this book was really fun for me. I kept my own natal chart accessible in another tab as I read this book, so that I could easily reference my Venus, Mars, and Lilith placements. It was also cool to peek at what my partner’s placements revealed about their own mindset, potential struggles, and interests,
Overall this was an informative and enjoyable read! Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC to read and review.
Absolutely loved finally hearing an experienced sexologist blend her knowledge and practice with astrology. I thought the merging was seamless and informative in a delightful way that made this book such an interesting read.
The only drawback to this book is that the astrology information covered was limited. Anyone well-versed in astrology knows that sex and romance goes way beyond looking just at one or two planets, and with the way modern astrology is trending, just sticking with one or two planets very much restricts how much someone can learn about themselves using the stars.
Thank you Netgalley and Sounds True Publishing for the digital ARC!
This isn't a quick look up your sign and see how sexy you are. This is a thoughtful and informative book about how star signs and seasons affect our sex lives. Each section looks at our strengths and weaknesses. There are meditation and journaling prompts. This book can help you become a better you and enjoy your sex life more.
Over the last year or two, I have been trying to learn more about astrology. This book is another perspective I would never have thought to focus on within astrology, but it makes a lot of sense.
I learned more about each of the astrological signs, including their basics and how they influence a person’s sexual needs and wants.
This would be a great book to own physically or as an e-copy to reference at different times. It can be beneficial to learn more about yourself sexually and about future partners.
I also enjoyed that this book felt like there was little to no judgment towards the reader.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sounds True Publishing for the opportunity to read the eArc in exchange for an honest review.
As much as I would like to say I’m not much of a “woo woo” girlie, I kind of am. This is why I jumped at the chance to get this book. The book feels very well researched and thoroughly explained. The layout Is easy to read and navigate. I already have my birth chart (see what I mean) and this prompted me to get my husbands birth chart as well.
For anyone getting into or even already well on their way into astrology, this book offers a great perspective that is easy to follow. I will definitely be buying a copy for my shelf.

This book combines astrology and sex giving you a guide on how to get the most out of your sex life based on your astrological sign.
This book is shame free, sex positive and pretty inclusive.
Thank you NetGalley and the author for sharing an arc copy of this book with me. I’m leaving this review of my own free will.
A very insightful book about astrology and unique ways to interpret our planetary positions. I liked the simple language used to suit all kinds of readers. Definitely what I had not expected, if I'm being honest.
This book can be used as a handbook, going to the chapter of your preferred sign to analyze and interpret as you wish. I learned a lot about my signs and how it affects my personality. Though sometimes it felt too generalized, it was accurate most of the times.
This is a good book to read if you are an astrology nerd and love to know more about yourself.
