I seriously enjoyed this book, especially the descriptive world-building, which gave me all the feels. She utilized their shared history really well to enhance the story. The slow burn was completely worth it, bringing the fireworks at the end, and finishing so sweetly.
Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.
I liked this but I didn’t LOVE it. Idk something felt different about this as compared to other works I’ve read by this author.
I wasn’t a fan of the immature miscommunications and I feel like I would have liked it more if we had been able to see more flashbacks and really get the whole second chance romance experience.
There was a lot of banter and some spice, so maybe this book will be right up your alley! But I just felt like it was missing something for me.
Thanks so much to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
3.5 ⭐️. I throughly enjoyed thjs book and would recommend it to anyone who is fan of a relatable plot with real life issues amd a bit (or a lot) of spice on the side. I sometimes felt it drag a little bit but I think I was more frysrated with the chraracters who felt like ships passing in the night more than the actual writing. One quote that stood out to ,e was “I’d begun to believe that trying was its own love la guage”. I think that captured real life love so well. So,e romance books create a world where everything is dreamy all the time and I can always appreciate a story more when the author creates a world people can connect with like Tarah dis. Will hands down be reading more from her in the future!
I absolutely ADORED this book. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a day! I’m a sucker for a dual POV or a dual timeline and this story featured both! Larynn is such a flawed character, which made me so invested in her story and made it feel more realistic for me. She was not always likable, but I could understand her and relate to her that much more. I could truly connect with how insecure she was when she was younger, especially when she was so hurt and rejected with her first real heartbreak. And Deacon, ugh, I just loved everything about him. Their banter and tension was the PERFECT build up. The ending just made me so happy, and fulfilled. Tarah’s storytelling is superb and I am looking forward to reading anything and everything she writes!
Again. Tarah’s done it again!! This rerelease is AMAZING and I loved everything about getting to revisit this story (with the new spicy spice) and these characters. They gutted me the first time, and I almost didn’t want to reread it for as much headache as it gave me, but damn I am completely unable to avoid anything Tarah writes.
I love a second-chance romance and this one, with its complex characters, a home renovation, and a return to a childhood location full of memories, does not disappoint.
This was a great read! I would recommend it to a friend. I loved it! Five stars. This book is a captivating exploration of human emotions and relationships. The narrative unfolds through the lives of richly developed characters, each facing unique challenges and growth. The author’s prose is both lyrical and engaging, drawing readers into the story with vivid imagery and relatable experiences.
I just knew Tarah would deliver and that’s EXACTLY what she did!! I’ve loved her writing since I got into Savor It and this solidified her as an auto-read for me!
This book has a gorgeous cover and an interesting plot. A twist on fake dating without too many stakes. I loved the lesbian grandmothers, but the main romance left a bit to be desired.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC!
This book was amazing! A solid ⅘ stars: pretty good almost could have been great would read again after a while.
I loved the second chance story and really liked to read about these complex characters. I think this book could have been 5 stars if it really had dived into the characters more and their love and complexities.
I was hooked from the start and genuinely enjoyed this book!
This was a cute book. I do love a marriage of convenience trope but I do wish the stakes were higher on pricing the marriage. I like that is flashed back to when they first met and didn’t make us wait too long to find out what happened
Oh, this book was so sweet - give me all of the home reno romances, I ate this up!
I absolutely loved watching the friendship and romance build between our two MC’s as they built a home together.
My only critique is that this book may have been trying to do a tad TOO much… at some point it just felt like a romance trope checklist which doesn’t help build a very authentic feeling story.
Read The Co-Op if you…
- enjoy sassy and hilarious banter
- are obsessed with HGTV
- are a sucker for small-town charm
Not my cup of tea. Was cute but I just couldnt get into it for some reason. The characters just weren't my favorite, the plot was really interesting though!
I loved The Co Op!
LaRynn and Deacon had a summer fling back in their high school years - but to say it ended poorly would be putting it lightly. Now, they can’t stand each other.
Fast forward ~ 7 years, their grandmothers (who were together, recently deceased) have left them 50/50 ownership of their home, which needs serious maintenance and remodeling. Neither of them have much money, but LaRynn can get her trust fund money if she is married…. 💞 que the marriage of convenience💞 😉
This was my first book by the author, but I’m looking forward to reading more of hers.
Tropes include:
🔨 marriage of convenience
🔨 enemies to friends to lovers
🔨 second chance romance
🔨 “my wife” / “my husband”
🔨 dual POV
🔨 alternating timelines
✨ Re-releasing in November!
I received an ARC copy of The Co-op by Tarah DeWitt, and I’m so glad I did! This romcom has the lovers to enemies to lovers theme and keeps you chuckling throughout. LaRynn and Deacon have a relationship, break up, and end up renovating a house together. As their current relationship evolves, flashbacks explain why the past relationship fell apart. I’ll admit, I disliked both characters from the beginning but as I leaned more about them, I slowly grew to like them. This was an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to read the next by DeWitt!
I was thrilled to get an ARC of *Tara DeWitt’s The Co-op*, and it didn’t disappoint! The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable as they’re forced to work together, repairing both a house and their messy past. DeWitt’s writing is packed with clever banter and heartfelt moments that kept me hooked from beginning to end. I also loved how she shared her writing process—just like the characters renovating the house, she had to keep going back and refining the story. If you’re a fan of enemies-to-lovers with plenty of humor and heart, this one’s definitely worth picking up!
4.5 ⭐️
Oh this was soooooo cute and perfect in so many ways!!!
2nd chance romance x enemies to lovers x forced proximity x marriage of convenience x invisible string theory!!!! Throw in the angsts, feet kicking chemistry while having to get married in order to complete a joint renovation project.
I just KNEW Tarah wouldn’t let me down while looking at the playlist for the co-op!
The banter between Deacon and LaRynn was incredible and I devoured every page. Both of the main characters grow so much in this story and the sparks are definitely flying! Can’t recommend this one enough! The Co-op comes out November 12th!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an advanced readers copy of this book
I enjoyed Savor It - so I knew this was going to be an enjoyable read! The characters were so funny! The banter was top notch throughout the book. I personally loved Savor it more but this was also fun to read. I love Tarah’s writing style and can’t wait to read more books!
this was my second tarah dewitt book and I thoroughly enjoyed this one!! a fun story full of banter, reconnecting with your old self, and living with your childhood ex in your grandparents house while you’re renovating it heheh
Deacon and LaRynn were so entertaining to follow along as their relationship continued to develop and they were figuring out how to interact without wanting to scream at each other. they are THE definition of two people who act like an old married couple! I LOVED the witty banter between them. as funny as this book was, it also had just as many sweet and tender moments between both of them.
I was so entertained the entire book. the pacing was good, it was full of humour, and their relationship developed at a perfectly slow pace. I highly recommend this! Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and miss Tarah Dewitt for an eARC of the new version of this in exchange for an honest review ❤️ the trad published version comes out November 12th!
The Co-Op by Tarah DeWitt is such a delightful and fun read! Her writing style is light and engaging, making it the perfect book to devour over a weekend. The banter between the two main characters is charming and entertaining, adding a playful tone to their relationship. I especially appreciated the way DeWitt fleshed out the backstory between them, which is crucial for a second-chance romance.
Some of my favorite chapters were the flashbacks to their summer together when they were younger. These moments felt nostalgic and deepened the emotional connection between the characters. However, I found myself wishing for a bit more closure on what exactly drove them apart—it felt like there was more to explore there.
While both characters were frustrating in moments, I could understand their motivations and the reasons behind their actions, which made them feel more real and relatable.
Overall, The Co-Op is a sweet, enjoyable story that balances fun banter with meaningful character development.
Thank you St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
