I thought that this was a really cute pucture book!
Finding Mr Trunks is a lovely little heartwarming story about the positive power of social media which is used to help locate Mr Trunks after he goes missing on holiday and is split up from his owner Libby.
The illustrations in the book are lovely and they work so well with the story - I am so pleased that they did find him as I lost a Beethoven toy myself on a plane when I was younger and we never found him.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!
So Mr Trunks was lost from the little girl's hand, and being found by another family whose baby loved him, and travel they go.
A cute but can be true story when we lost our best friend, and that best friend become someone else's beloved friend. Also a friendly reminder to manage our belongings while travelling.
With cute and accurate illustrations, so real nowadays yet fun to see another city.
Such an adorable book! The dialogue was hard to follow at times, as you didn't know who was talking.
Thank you to NetGalley for an Advanced Reader's Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest opinion.
It was an easy going read that my kids laughed at and loved. I'd recommend it more to children above 5 for a bit more of a better reaction but it was definitely a good read and physical book I want to add to my kids library.
A sweet warm story told in cute calming illustrations, but unfortunately it lacks details about the characters and development overall. But it was cute and fun, though it might not hold the attention of the little ones or be as engaging as other picture books.
This was a really sweet picture book about a stuffed elephant named Mr. Trunks who gets left at the airport and picked up my another kid. The book focused on his adventures as he finds his way back to his kid. The ending was especially smart. I would recommend this to any parent.
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read FINDING MR. TRUNKS early.
As a daycare teacher I am always in search of new books to read to my class. This story is so hopeful in the search for Mr. Trunks who has gone missing while traveling with his companion. Through the use of social media, Mr. Trunks is miraculously reunited with his owner. The imagery throughout the book is wonderfully done, and the way in which Mr. Trunks is safely returned to his rightful home is quite a sweet concept.
Sweet story that will bring a smile to children and parents alike.
A stuffed elephant gets left behind at the airport and a baby picks it up. Mr. Trunks, the stuffed elephant, is sad to have been separated from his child owner. The baby's parents are interested in reuniting Mr. Trunks with his child and use a hashtag Finding Mr Trunks.
For about a page my daughter was sad that a child would lose their beloved stuffed animal, but Mr. Trunks was distracted by the loving concern of his temporary family which comforted my daughter. The photos were sweet and whimsical with animals living among humans and traveling around the same way humans do. The use of social media to reunite the elephant and his child was a fun addition!
Highly recommend this charming children's story that blends whimsical artwork with the effortless connectivity of our modern world through the eyes of a child's lovey.
Cute story for kids not quite ready for The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Poor Mr. Trunks gets lost from his person, but has a wonderful adventure. I love this as an introduction to having students take pictures with their stuffed animals as they do different things. Students can make lots of connections with this book.
Very cute and sweet books! Perfect for littles who love and have a special bond with their stuffy friends
Thank you to Familus Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this picture book for my students. This was an adorable modern story with what happens if a child loses their sweet stuffed animal while traveling. I think the added social media will date it, but I think it will be great for students to learn about sequencing and vocabulary. My only issue was it felt like the beginning was a bit confusing. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars.
This was an adorable little story about Libby, who accidentaly looses her toy elephant, Mr Trunks, at the airport. We get to follow Mr Trunks travles to get back to Libby, using social media. The story shows the kindness and helpfulness of people, who do everything they can to get Mr Trunks and Libby reunited.
Great writing and nicely illustrated.

I loved the illustrations in this book. Each of the characters were very unique, and I loved the quirky addition of other animals into the pictures and workers and tourists. It is a nice modern take on social media which is uplifting about the good it can do. The ending was also satisfying as all characters were happy in the end.
This is so cute! We go on a little journey with an elephant stuffie that got lost from his person, and his new family takes him on adventures before he returns home. Such a cute, comforting story for kids.
Mr. Trunks is accidentally separated from Libby at the airport and is found by Baby who then takes him along on their trip! Oh no, will Mr. Trunks ever be reunited with Libby? Well, Libby’s family has shared online that he’s missing with the hashtag #findingMrTrunks and when Baby’s family posts a picture with Mr. Trunks in it, a helpful comment connects them so they can make plans to reunite them at the end of their vacation.
This book really highlights a positive of social media, that when a community comes together with a common goal it can help facilitate. The illustrations are quirky, emotive and irreverent with both humans and animals everywhere, living their lives. Loved the social media posts of Mr. Trunks being a tourist that hopefully gave Libby some comfort while they were separated.
Very sweet read that was reassuring for my kiddos as the thought of losing a friend has definitely been a concern when traveling. They were glad that these two families approached this with such thoughtfulness and compassion.
Thank you Netgalley for the digital ARC of this book.
This was such a cute picture book about the power of social media and finding your way back to your family. Libby loses her beloved stuffed elephant Mr. Trunks in the airport and this is the journey Mr. Trunks takes to get back to Libby. The illustrations were super cute and story was a fun read.
Thanks to Familius and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.
It was okay. A toy is lost and social media helps reunite him with his owner. The dialogue was sometimes confusing.
I found it very hard to rate children's books so everything is a 5 star read for me!!
I really loved this book, the illustrations are so beautiful and captivating that I found myself smiling through every page I read.
The story itself is very beaitiful and inspiring <3
This story about a stuffed elephant that got lost at an airport is sweet and adorable. It ends up having a fun adventure in Italy, all documented on social media in order to be returned to its original owner. Lovely read.
