This F1 themed, forbidden romance nails in! Will Hawley, a talented but hot-headed F1 driver, meets Mira Wentworth, a new team assistant and the boss's daughter. There is an initial connection and the two must balance their feelings for each other with their focus on professional performance and scrutiny from the public/media. I liked this story for the effortless way it incorporated F1 themes and knowledge. There is also strong character development; it wasn't all fluff. Sign me up for the next book in the series!

This is a friends to lovers romance. This was a really good book and kept me engaged. The chemistry between the characters was undeniable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy. Sadly, this was a no for me. I dnf’d this book around 20% because of the language. One small example is the male main character saying he “stepped all over his dick” in reference to kind of being an ass. Too many moments like that too me out of the story and i chose not to finish.

I was super excited to read a formula 1 book for the first time and let me tell you I was definitely not disappointed by this book. The story is perfect, full of romance and adrenaline. Myra and Will made such a cute couple, lovable characters and great story line. I’m looking forward to read the next book.

This was a nice sports romance from Weaver and fun change up from her usual fare. Overall I like it, but I do think that with the major trauma the fmc and her family went through that they could all have benefitted from some therapy and that would have fixed a lot of the drama that was happening throughout the book. Kind of instalust, but I didn't find it as annoying in this one as I normally do, haha. I don't know much at all about F1 but I didn't feel like I was lost at any point without that knowledge. I look forward to seeing what the next book in the series will bring.

3.5⭐️ rounded up

Mira is thrilled to be back in the world of F1 racing. She is returning to the scene with a commitment to make up for her past and make her father (the principal of the racing team) proud.

Will is finally back in the major leagues after years of trying to recover his bad boy, reckless image and be recognized for the talent he is.

Both have a strong commitment, determination, and focus to overcoming their past and vow to not let anything get in their way… until they find that there’s more between them than a platonic relationship.

I think that a lot of the conflict was centered around miscommunication which I don’t normally mind but it more so stemmed between Mira and her dad than Mira and Will in my opinion which could have alleviated so many of her challenges.

This was my first F1 romance and it was a good time. It was fast paced and fun vibes perfect if looking for a quick easy romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Zando for the opportunity to read and review this eARC.

In Fast & Reckless, Amanda Weaver delivers a steamy and emotionally charged romance set against the high-speed world of Formula One racing. The story revolves around Miranda Wentworth, a determined young woman who has returned to the motorsport world after a huge personal setback. As her father’s assistant at Lennox Motorsport, she’s fighting for her second chance in a field where she’s always felt like an outsider. Her mission? To prove herself and earn a permanent place in the industry, without letting anything—especially a complicated relationship—distract her from her goal.

Enter Will Hawley, the team’s star driver, a man who embodies both the thrill and danger of the racing world. Once on top of his game, Will’s career spiraled after a series of bad decisions, but he’s now focused on redemption. His eyes are on the prize, and the last thing he needs is a distraction in the form of Miranda. But when they meet, the chemistry is undeniable, and the attraction they both feel forces them to reconsider their carefully laid plans.

Weaver does a fantastic job of building the tension between Miranda and Will, creating a romance that simmers with both personal stakes and external pressures. Both characters are flawed and complex, and their emotional journeys are compelling to follow. Miranda’s desire to prove herself, especially after a past mistake, adds a layer of depth to her character, making her more than just the "boss’s daughter." Similarly, Will’s battle to rebuild his career after self-destructive choices makes him a relatable, sympathetic hero despite his bad-boy reputation.

The setting of Formula One racing provides the perfect backdrop for a high-energy, high-stakes romance. The world of racing is cutthroat, and the pressure to perform makes every decision feel significant. This tension extends into Will and Miranda’s relationship as they try—and fail—to keep their feelings strictly professional. What starts as an undeniable physical attraction turns into something deeper, and the emotional stakes rise when past mistakes and long-held secrets threaten to derail both their careers and their budding romance.

Fast & Reckless by Amanda Weaver is my first book by Amanda Weaver. It is a swoon-worthy, high-octane romance that combines a dash of adrenaline with plenty of heart.

No thoughts just vibes.

This went all of exactly where I expected. No more, no less. It was enjoyable enough, but I never really got to a point where I was invested. Probably, largely because the characters and plot lines were never surprising. It all walked a fine line of being not simple enough to be eye roll inducing, but also not original enough to be exciting. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. I'm sure this would be pretty enjoyable to lots of people, particularly fan's of Lauren Asher's dirty air series or any other number of F1 racing based romances. It would definitely scratch the itch.

This is my first F1 sports romance I've read and I really didn't know what to expect. Overall, I did enjoy the book and liked both the main characters. I really have nothing bad to say about it. It was well written, it was the perfect length, the plot clipped along, and I think you'd really enjoy it if you're into Formula 1. It didn't wow me, but it was a solid sports romance.

Did I just become a Formula One fan??? Although the constant dwelling in the past over a terrible relationship/mistake got a little old (me screaming move on already did NOT help Mira AT ALL), the relationship between her and Will was real and I loved it.

As an F1 fan, I enjoyed being thrown into this fictional world!

This book was definitely fast-paced and a fun time! I just don't think it's one of my favorite books in the world. Will and Mira definitely had great chemistry, but it was a little to insta-lovey for my liking. I think it would have been better as a slow-burn!

I did like the fact that the conflict wasn't treacherously dragged out. It really was just a quick and easy read.

Fast & Reckless, by Amanda Weaver, follows Mira Wentworth and Matt Hawley through the Formula One season. Mira has just joined the organization as a team assistant, and she is desperate to prove that she can handle it. Mira is not about to let Matt Hawley get in her way. Matt Hawley has just joined the team as their new driver. He’s been known as a party boy in the past, and it’s blown up his career before. Matt knows that he needs to show that he’s reformed to keep his spot and make the podium. However, one look at Mira is all it takes for Matt to consider throwing it all away for chance with the bosses daughter.
This is a cute, quick book to read in a weekend. The budding relationship of Mira and Matt is heartwarming. Despite all of Mira’s best efforts she can’t seem to stay away from Matt. Despite all of Mira’s rejections, Matt still keeps trying to get her attention. They both help each other to become better, and they both grow together throughout the book. If you enjoy a medium burn romance then this would be the book for you.
The plot of the book doesn’t make a lot of sense. I don’t know why anyone would blame a 16 year old for being taken advantage of by a much older man. I, also, don’t know why that would have meant that Mira needed to be ostracized by her father. Mira’s backstory could have been thought through a little bit more. The resolution of the book felt a little rushed and unearned. A majority of the book involves the miscommunication trope as well. However, if you’re willing to suspend some disbelief, this is a fun book to read.

Mira finds herself back in the racing world after a scandal sent her away for years. Will is also reentering the race world after his own scandal and quickly finds himself lusting after the one person he shouldn’t- his boss’s daughter.

I thought this was a good read- I wish it was first person instead of third but I don’t think that should deter you as it’s a good story!

ok so apparently f1 romances are my new niche ???? read this all in one sitting. it was everything i needed and more. plot was strong and entertaining. the romance had me kicking my feet and giggling- i mean he's a driver and she's the daughter of the head of the team who doesn't love a little forbidden romance moment?? this is a perfect book for anyone who loves romance books and f1.

This was my first F1 Romance and it was a fun one! I will say, as someone who is not familiar with racing, this book did an awesome job giving you all the details you need to know in order to understand the world! I love when an author really does the research to give you details so someone like myself who is not familiar can really get to understand the characters better and I felt like I did. With that said, I think I may not just be that into racing and that’s ok! Not everything is for everyone and I am happy I gave it a try!

The story was nice. The romance in the book was super sweet. You have a friends to lovers situation between the two main characters. Personally, I prefer enemies to lovers, but a friend lovers is fine as well if it’s done right and I feel like this book definitely did it justice. The trope I didn’t love was the insta love factor. I do believe in the whole love at first sight, but sometimes it’s a little too much and I wish it wasn’t so heavy in this particular book but that’s a personal preference.

If you’re someone that enjoys racing and is into something that is a little sweeter and self esteem building than this book might be a little more up your alley and I would say definitely give it a try!

Fast and Reckless is a Formula one romance that offers an exhilarating mix of romance and excitement, with a dash of that forbidden love trope we all love. The slow build toward the romance was perfectly paced, keeping me engaged and eager for the moment they finally got together. Once they did, it was fun, steamy, and definitely worth the wait. Fans of Throttle will undoubtedly enjoy the similar fast-paced and passionate vibe. This book delivers on sexy, fun, and heart-pounding moments—I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a thrilling romance!

Fast & Reckless by Amanda Weaver
Formula 1 Romance. Stansalone. First in a related series.

“He could feel it happening, like something locking into place in his heart. He was falling for this girl like he’d fallen for racing: hard, fast, and irrevocably.”

If you know me, you know I’m a HUGE F1 fan. I’ve read a good number of F1 romance books, including beta reading one that’s yet to release. I even have a list of EVERY F1 romance I’ve found on my blog, with links to my reviews. But honestly, they’re starting to blur together, especially when so many involve a driver and the team principal’s daughter (or the PR person).
“This was what she’d missed. The track, the cars, the sound.”

Mira is back on the grid after years away, following a scandal from her teenage years. She’s determined to win back her father’s approval, so she’s doing everything she can to be perfect at her job. Will, the new driver on her father’s team, pursues her right from day one, and suddenly becomes the reformed bad boy when he meets her.

Their attraction is instant, but Mira does her best to hold back her growing feelings—after all, the last thing she needs is another public scandal. I liked how they bonded over their love of racing, and Amanda Weaver did a great job depicting the importance of drivers needing to clear their heads to race.

Weaver made F1 accessible to the average romance reader while still satisfying someone like me, who’s obsessed with the sport. Her racing details were accurate, though I wish she’d done a little more research on the cities they visited. A public hookup in Singapore? Really?

My favorite part of Fast & Reckless was when Mira had a heart-to-heart with her dad. I even teared up a little. I was so annoyed throughout the book that she was blamed for what a 30-year-old driver did to her when she was only 16, but her dad redeemed himself in that scene.

Likes:
•Accurate F1 racing.
•The realistic depiction of the difficulties women face in motorsports.
•Though it was insta-lust, the couple took time to get to know each other.
•Just the right amount of sex.
•Crisp, quick writing.
•Exciting on-track racing.
•Great chemistry between the characters.

Dislikes:
•It feels like I’ve read this story before—the team principal’s daughter and a driver trope is as common in F1 romance as the coach’s daughter is in hockey romance.
•It blends in with other F1 books.
•I would’ve liked to see more cultural detail about the cities they visited.

🎧Audio Note: I grabbed the audiobook when it released and for the last third switched back & forth. I loved that Zac Smith had an accent and I thought Samantha Summers was great. It made me excited to relisten to this before Kiss & Collide comes out.

The Down & Dirty:
Fast & Reckless by Amanda Weaver is one of the better F1 books I’ve read. The racing descriptions were accurate and easy to follow for non-racing fans, but still detailed enough for die-hard F1 enthusiasts. The couple had great chemistry, and I always love a forbidden romance. My only issue is that the story didn’t feel unique—it’s easy to mix up with other F1 romances involving the team principal’s daughter. Still, I devoured it quickly and can’t wait for the next book in the series, Kiss & Collide.

Rating: 4 Stars, 3 heat

Fast & Reckless by Amanda Weaker was a slow burning sports romance around F1 racing. Mira and Will are both trying to move forward in their careers with second chances and yet when they are together, the sparks fly. Mira is determined to do things right, even if the new driver is sexy and charming. Will has not made the best decisions, but he is back on track and determined to stay that way. They should stay away from each other, right? Not when they were both struggling with past damage that was not easy for either of them. Their journey emotional, charming and a fun read. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Happy reading!

This was a fun sports romance. I thought the character development was good - both Mira and Will had issues in their pasts and their personal lives that complicated the present relationship, but they worked through it. I haven't read many books set in the world of racing, so that was a nice change. Overall, the story was a little predictable but definitely enjoyable. I would recommend it to others and will be checking out more from this author.
