Description
She’s not going to waste her second chance...
As a teen, Miranda Wentworth made a terrible mistake that cost her everything. Now, she has a second chance to work in the sport she loves as her father’s assistant. She’s determined to win back his respect and a permanent position in the world of Formula One. No one is going to get in her way. Not even Will Hawley, the team’s star driver. Even if he revs her engine, an entanglement with a hot, bad boy racecar driver is not in the cards.
He’s in it to win it...
Hot shot Formula One driver, Will Hawley, had the world of racing at his feet, but he played too hard, too fast, and his rising start quickly burned out. After nearly losing his career in a single season, Will is now a reformed party boy working his way back to the top, finally landing a coveted spot at the prestigious Lennox Motorsport. Will understands life-altering mistakes, and he won’t be distracted from his goal this time around the track. He's focused on winning his way back onto the podium until he catches his first glimpse of the boss's daughter . . .
Miranda and Will can’t afford any wrong moves and promise to keep their relationship strictly platonic, but a heated encounter leaves them wanting more. What starts as an irresistible attraction unexpectedly deepens into something more, something that might be love. But when the ugly events of the past come to call, their fragile new relationship is put to the test, and the price for falling in love might prove too high to pay.

"Fast & Reckless" by Amanda Weaver dives headfirst into the exhilarating world of Formula 1 racing, blending high-speed thrills with a simmering romance that captivates from the outset.
Weaver excels in balancing the pulse-pounding atmosphere of the racing circuit with the tender complexities of her characters' relationship. The chemistry between the mechanic and the driver is palpable, adding depth to their journey as they navigate personal ambition and mutual attraction against the backdrop of intense competition.
With its authentic portrayal of the F1 environment and well-rounded characters, "Fast & Reckless" stands out as a compelling read for fans of F1 romances. It's a story that seamlessly combines adrenaline-pumping action with heartfelt emotions, making it a standout in its genre.
Overall, Amanda Weaver delivers a memorable and satisfying romance that will appeal to both motorsport enthusiasts and romance readers alike. "Fast & Reckless" is undoubtedly one of the finest F1 romances I've had the pleasure of reading.
I absolutely loved this book! The writing was on=point, the tension was perfect, and the characters were truly fleshed out and engaging. My favorite thing about the book was the kindness and communication between characters, especially Will, who sometimes reacts emotionally but also later acknowledged if he pushed a boundary and worked to do better. This relationship was a great example of consent, communication, and kindness.
I went into the book knowing nothing about Formula One and really loved all the details-- it was just enough to be interesting and help me learn something, but not so much that it was "inside baseball" talk I didn't understand. I actually stayed up late watching F1 videos after finishing the book -- if you have seen them, look up pitstops! they're wild!!!
Thanks to Zando for this review copy and to the author for a great reading experience. I read this book over the course of a few very challenging travel days with my family and it was a great source of comfort and fun.
I've been waiting impatiently for the next Amanda Weaver book and oh, boy! Did she deliver. There have been a few F1 romances out lately, but this one clearly stands a cut above the rest (not to mention, it wins the grand prix in title design against all of them - what a beauty!!). It's passionate, carefully crafted, and clearly has deep respect for both romance readers and F1 fans.
So happy to have read this one!
I haven't read a lot of books about Formula One but my son is obsessed with racing so I thought I'd give this title a try. I liked the story, and I thought the author did a good job of creating the main characters. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I'd like to read more from Weaver!
Loved - had the perfect balance of heat and F1. Def team Hawley and wish we could have more! Would recommend to those already in love with racing romances
This book was a quick read with some drama, romance, and a bit of steam. It took me a bit to get into the story, but things picked up quickly. Enjoyed the characters, and actually found a lot of the F1 facts interesting.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review..
I absolutely devoured this book! It was so well written and incredibly researched. As someone who has spent a lot of time in the motorsport world and also follows F1 consistently I was extremely impressed. The facts and information that was spun into this book whilst also creating such strong tension and slow burn was really good. This was actually my first F1 romance book and I can now see myself diving into this rabbit hole after this book.
The characters were great, I love the arc of the MMC it really shows the comeback and also the reality of how hard it is to keep a drive! The FMC sees issues that I feel face many women in the motorsport world, men think they can have you no matter what and it’s so important for you to protect your career otherwise your in the wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt there was such good character growth and insane chemistry.
Thank you yo Zando publishing and Net Galley for the electronic arc of this book!
Will and Mira have both crashed and burned before but that doesn’t stop them from being attracted to each other. Holding back allows them to become friends before giving in to their feelings. The fallout is painful but forces them to deal with the past and leads to their HEA. PS - I’d read a story about Violet finding love.
I feel pretty neutral about this book. It was a quick, easy read.. but the story did not grab me.
Likes: Fast read! I actually learned a lot about Formula One racing and not in a 'preachy' way. Mia character developed quite a bit, and it was nice to read. Not super spicy, but the spice it had was good.
Dislikes: I would have liked to see the relationship with Mia and her dad develop a bit more. It was a fairly large part of the story but didn't really go anywhere. Also something about the story just didn't grab me the way sports romances usually do. I can't put a finger on it.. but I personally feel it was missing something.
I loved this book with my whole heart!! I cannot recommend it enough.
It was exciting, sexy, emotional, tense.. I sat on the edge of my seat at times and I was swooning for the rest of it.
I was over the moon that everything about the sport was accurate and engaging. I've read other sports romances where inaccuracies are really distracting and disruptive but this one was dead on, smart, and sharp. If anything I learned a thing or two.
I wish Mira's experience wasn't as common as it is but it was relatable, topical, and told so so well.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.
What a ride!! This book deep dives into the world of Formula One racing and the author actually gives us a look into the heart of the sport. This book is more than just a romance. This is a story about overcoming hurt. This book is about finding the one person who gets you and doesn’t let you go. This story gives sports romance readers the whole package.
Highly recommended.
Weaves has created a romance that’s both steamy and deeply moving. The tension between them is palpable, and watching their relationship evolve amidst the adrenaline-fueled racing scenes makes for an unforgettable read. Their story is a powerful blend of passion, redemption, and love that grips you from start to finish. It’s a captivating, emotional rollercoaster that keeps you rooting for them every step of the way. I enjoyed reading it.
Fast and Reckless is an F1 centred romance following Mira (Miranda) a personal assistant to the Lennox F1 team and Will the hot-headed F1 driver new to the team. I didn’t know if an F1 romance was going to be my thing as I’m usually a hockey romance girl but Amanda hit it out of the park.
You can really tell she did her research on the sport even delving into some of the technical aspects, it really added to the story.
An easy to read friends to lovers story. Not super spicy but a little bit of spice. I wish there had been a little more relationship building with Mira’s & her dad (as their past was quite big part of how she ended up where she was) that been said the story was still super enjoyable. I hope there is more of Will & Mira or even more in the series.
I've never read a racing themed book, but I truly enjoyed this one! Mira is a lovely character and her character development throughout the book was amazing to see unfold! I absolutely loved her and the MMC. This book truly tugged at me as Mira was so relatable and wanting to get the respect from her father. I felt like I learned a bit about the racing world and now I want to read more racing themed books! And that epilogue!!! So beautiful. Wonderful read that even had a little spice!
I received this book from NetGalley and Zando to read/review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.
Thank you to Zando Projects and Netgalley for the ARC of Fast & Reckless.
This was a Solid F1 romance. It was well written, storyline was engaging and made sense, and the story flowed well and kept me interested. Will and Mira were cute cute, they had challenges to overcome and they did it with some great tension and communication 🙌 this was an easy and very enjoyable read and I binged it in a day. If you like F1 romances you should pick this one up!
First, a big thank you to NetGalley and Zando for providing me with an advance reader copy of this thrilling romance.
"Fast & Reckless" by Amanda Weaver is a high-octane love story that beautifully intertwines the worlds of Formula One racing and second chances. Miranda Wentworth is determined to rebuild her life and career in the sport she loves, keeping her focus sharp—until she crosses paths with Will Hawley, a reformed bad boy driver with his own redemption arc.
Weaver expertly crafts a story full of tension, both on and off the track, as Miranda and Will struggle to keep their attraction in check. The chemistry between them is electric, and their journey from reluctant allies to something much deeper is as exhilarating as a Formula One race.
As they both confront the mistakes of their pasts, the stakes are high, and their relationship faces challenges that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. "Fast & Reckless" is a captivating romance that delivers speed, suspense, and sizzling passion—perfect for fans of both racing and romance.
I am absolutely never gonna turn down an F1 romance. Y'all can keep your hockey romance, I want the adrenaline junkie, cocky drivers. I will say with this one, itfelt very romance-centered with the F1 aspect being the background of it which is finnnne, I just found it didn't give me the full immersion into the racing world that I love. That's a me thing, though. I still ate this book up, finished it in under 36 hours during a workweek 😂
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
There have been books lately about F1 racing and I was curious to read this one. It’s definitely emotional because the heroine had something happened to her when she was younger, but she was blamed for it publicly. She feels like she needs to make it up to her father, and she has returned to help him, but ends up falling for his new driver who is also, trying to recover from his past. I really like seeing the house behind the scenes racing is but more than anything. I loved How do you relationship unfolded? It’s a very emotional book, but does make me want to watch formula one racing as well.
this was so fun!! i absolutely love F1, and this was done pretty well!! the scheduling, the edge of your seat moments, the romance? so heartfelt - i was rooting for them from the very beginning. even if you don't follow F1, or are interested in starting, i'd recommend this one to start with! enough to dip your toes in but will have you wanting to wade out in the deep end soon enough. cant wait to read more from this author!
I really enjoy F1 romance and this one had a lot of similar tropes to others that I’ve read but this was still really enjoyable. It’s my first from this author but I look forward to finding more from Amanda!
I absolutely loved this book! This author did an amazing job with the F1 aspects. Seriously can't wait for more by this author. Thank you to the publisher for this ARC.
I haven't found a lot of F1 racing romances so this was a real treat! I love a romance that delved into a sport that isn't widely talked about. This is on the lower angst side with enjoyable characters and heavier on the racing!
This was super cute! I actually really loved this a lot.
I read a lot of F1 romances, so I'm used to the usual tropes that come with these: bad boy driver, hiding from the press, etc etc. but I still found myself enjoying it despite the typical tropes! Will was super adorable and I loved seeing him try his hardest to be better. I also thought there was the "right" amount of spice. I would maybe put it at 2/5 or 2.5/5. Definitely open door and descriptive, but the scenes didn't last too long or take up too much of the story.
My one gripe (and it's super minor) is I would have liked a little more resolution between Mira and her dad. I know he said he didn't actually blame her all those years he blamed herself but he did tell her multiple times he was disappointed in her and was visibly annoyed when she would go out to the clubs. That disappointment/strictness with partying was very much "victim blaming" toward her and was kind of unfair. I really wish there was more grovel from her dad on that front, she deserved for him to really tell her how wrong he was to do that.
I will say, if you watch or follow F1, this book is probably the most accurate F1 romance I've ever read in that aspect. So many F1 romances skip major parts of the season, go out of order with the races, get major aspects of racing wrong, etc. but this book was NOT that! You could tell the author did her research. The terms and strategies were super in line with the reality of F1. It might feel like a bit of jargon if you're not into F1, but if you love it like me, it was a breath of fresh air to see it accurately represented without sacrificing the romance and lightness of the read!
Probably around 4.25 stars for me. Would definitely try this author out again and recommend this book to anyone, F1 fan or not!
I don’t normally read romance but this book sweet, exciting, emotional, steamy, and really enjoyable. I’ve never read a F1 book before but it was interesting reading about racing
If you like F1 romances then this book is for you. Definitely a lot more F1 content than some of the books I’ve read. The only thing that slightly ruined this book for me was the insta love between the characters I like a little more angst and will they won’t they. Still a really good read and I look forward to more from this author p
Oh thank God: Finally an F1 romance where the author seems to have actually seen a Grand Prix. The characters do have a weird insta-love thing that I generally find annoying, but, having been in the same physical space as an F1 driver at one point in my life? I can kinda see it.
