I didn’t realize there were so many books about F1 romances!! Yet, here we are with one more—and it didn’t disappoint.

The insta love between the two main characters wasn’t my favorite, but I loved their overall connection. Spice was spicy at like 3-3.5/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️

(Thank you, Zando and NetGalley, for the ARC audiobook in exchange for my honest review.)

Thank you to Zando for a copy of the eARC for me to read and review.

Tropes: Forced Proximity, Workplace Romance, Forbidden Romance, Formula One

This was my first Formula One romance and it was a pretty fun time. I definitely did learn a little bit around F1 racing since I knew literally nothing and I would be intersted in reading more of them. I really liked our FMC and her dynamic with the MMC. They were both kind of shunned out of the racing world for different reasons but came back more mature and sure of who they were.

I really liked the side character- Violet- she was very no nonsense with a good sense of humor. I feel like sometimes side characters can make or break a story if they aren't done correctly.

Will's character was so lovable even though he was supposed to be the "bad boy" of racing- he ending up being very caring and willing to support the people he cared about. I enjoyed that he stood up for the FMC when it really mattered regardless of what it meant for his career.

Overall a pretty fun read and I learned some new things about racing.

Rev your engines and get your gear shafts lubed it’s time for a racecar romance!!!

Mira is the daughter of the head of an English Formula 1 race team who had an illicit affair w a much older driver when she was 16 and somehow he didn’t go to jail and she was slut shamed back to the US. That seems fair. 7 years later she’s back and working for her dad and totally NOT giving any race car drivers the green flag into her vaginal raceway. Will is a strapping racing bad boy who is def NOT fuckable at all. He hits on her immediately (pump the breaks dude) and she resists him for the approx length of an Indy race pit stop. Will drives it fast and hard till his tires are bald yet he hands Mira the checkered flag by letting her come first (he may be the champ but he knows that in bed he wins by coming in second).

Race romance is a new genre for me (rife with so many new zroomy inuendos) and while I did really like this book, I was really hoping for a major crash with dramatic sick bed scene and feel deprived. What’s sexier than a traumatic brain injury and a chest tube for pneumothorax? Perhaps a non-injured race car driver who shifts his stick to victory. Ya, that I guess. Despite lack of a major trauma, this was good, and I recommend. Will def read more race romps.

Smut- 2.87 stars
Romance- 4.56 stars
Story- 4.31 stars
Letting a profesh race car driver destroy one’s chasis- 16.98 stars

I know nothing about racing, so this book was interesting. I liked Will and Mira together, I think they work together well as a couple. I understood the couples' issues and thought they handled them well. I didn't like the blame of Mira from when she was a teen. I understand it was talking about points of view from other countries but still didn't like it. I really liked Voilet and I'm interested to know her story.

Fast & Reckless was kindly provided as an ARC by NetGalley and Zando. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful book!

As a lover of F1, I will read pretty much any F1 based book that comes out. If you are like me, Fast & Reckless is a good one to add to your list!

We meet Mira, the daughter of an F1 Team Owner, who had been away from the track for awhile after a scandal. She starts a secret relationship with Will, one of the team’s drivers.

There is a big secret that hangs over the story, and I really enjoyed how Weaver laid all of that out. I kept wondering what it was, why Mira hadn’t been on the track for so long. Weaver does such a great job of keeping that engagement.

I also love the travel aspect of this story. F1 races occur all over the world, and Weaver really paints the picture of what traveling to these races is like, and the beautiful cities they are held in.

I can’t write a review on a Sports Romance without mentioning the romance. No spoilers, but it’s good. Just the right amount of spice, in my option. And again, no spoilers, but there is a certain scene involving an F1 car that is fire.

Fast & Reckless is a really good sports romance. If you like F1, sports, or spice, check this book out!

What a fun sports romance read! I know nothing about F1 racing, but Amanda Weaver made the story exciting and interesting, while also keeping classic sports romance tropes that I love. I will definitely be handselling this to anyone with an interest in F1, but also sports romance fans in general!

I was not a big fan of the 3rd person point of view the author decided to go with in the story but I did like the story and the characters

Thank you @NetGalley for the ARC. Wow, this book was a fast and wild ride. I loved it. F1 has become a new obsession of mine and I felt all the action in this book. The love story was on point. A must read.

This book was just satisfying in every way. I grew up a NASCAR girl, but my husband has fallen in love with Formula One, so I could appreciate the setting from a multitude of views. I loved the characters, the storyline, and the pacing especially. This will definitely go on my "Books To Recommend:" list!

Fast and Reckless by Amanda Weaver was one of the absolute best books I've read in 2024! Set amongst the ever exciting Formula 1 racing scene, the book tells the story of Mira and Will who are both trying to get back into the sport after spending time away but their past keeps popping up. Both are trying to prove they have changed over the years but falling for each other was the last thing on their minds and could be problematic.

The steamy moments, the angst, the excitement of racing, traveling the world - ugh just all of it was SO GOOD, I devoured this book. Thank you thank you thank you to Netgalley, Author Amanda Weaver and Zando publishing for the ARC!

This was my first racing themed sports book, and I’m pretty pleased with it. I come from a dirt track racing family so I was pretty interested from the start. I LOVED Mira and Will. It was the perfect slow burn quick read that I needed.

The premise of this book gripped me and held my attention to an extent being a good girl/bad boy, friends to lovers trope. I realized the F1 sports realm just isn’t my thing when I think of sports romance. I enjoy a good slow burn and this did provide that, just took me a while to get through as I kept putting it down for other books and had to force myself back to Mira and Will. I had hoped it was a “can’t put down” so for that reason I rated it 3 stars.

Mira and Will have no room for mistakes.

One kiss will threaten to destroy everything.

A slow burn that scorches in this F1 racing romance where anything can happen.

Fast paced story of redemption, sexy banter, and plenty of adventure.

All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This booked revved my engines without fail!

This is my first Amanda Weaver read and it did not disappoint. This is a Formula 1 racing sports romance filled with great banter. It is a workplace romance after the FMC has sworn off romances with racers. It is forbidden as he is on her dad’s team and it is filled with will they/won’t they angst. He falls first and we love that for Mira.

We jump right in and meet Will Hawley, a Formula 1 racer. He has a wreck and then jumps to 3 years later. Miranda “Mira” Wentworth is our FMC and is starting a new job with a Formula 1 racing team. Mira is an American who moved to England for this job.

I loved Mira and the way she was written. I could relate to her really well and that made reading/listening to this one so easy. Watching both Will and Mira navigate their own issues and overcome them to be together was beautiful. I also really enjoyed watching how Mira and her father found one another again and built their relationship. It is something many of us sometimes wish we could do, but alas, in fiction everything is better.

Narration by Samantha Summers and Zac Smith in dual style.

🌶️🌶️.5/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

For my first F1 romance, this was a fun journey and I’d definitely go back to this genre of romance. The story was written in third person, dual POV. Which was smart in a way because I’m not one for third person, but since it showcased the two sides and you sort of got a feel for the two MCs it was done kinda well. It follows two main characters that have intriguing backstories that really play into the narrative, though I wish we got more in depth into them. Mira, the FMC, is strong character but past experiences have her treading on the side of caution especially with her romantic relationships. Her character is a little naive in areas, especially how she interacts with her dad. Almost going back into a teenage like state around him, which is realistic in ways but for a character her age you almost wouldn’t believe it. Will, the MMC, the bad boy of racing, is trying to reset his narrative - which is something you never really see. He’s been given another shot at racing when he was signed to Lennox and he’s not planning on throwing it away. Mira is back at the race circuit after being absent for 7 years due to a scandal that took place when she was a teenager, she comes back with a renewed purpose, working hard to prove herself back at the track as assistant to the PA to the Principal of Lennox. Their story isn’t necessarily flawed, a little insta-lusty/lovely but it could’ve gone deeper into Mira’s trauma, that would’ve pushed the story, instead of scraping the surface. The same could be said for Will, I feel like the backstory was only skimmed over. The side characters really shined in this story, I loved Violet’s humour and wit and even though Will’s siblings and parents made only a quick appearance, I instantly liked his sister and loathed his parents. I loved how the racing aspect wasn't completely in the background and the author knew her stuff. The spice, could’ve gave a little more but it was alright. Overall, I enjoyed.

While I don't enjoy watching racing IRL I find myself drawn to racing novels. I love the excitement of the possibilities behind the scenes and the excitement of the characters. I loved Mira and Will together eventhough it seemed a bit quick to be smitten with each other, but I guess love at first sight was in the air. I loved Miras character, but also felt very angry for how she was treated when she was just a kid on the circuit. And definitely felt bad for how hard she had to work to keep her nose clean while others could just kick back and have fun on breaks. Very entertaining read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Amanda Weavers team for allowing me an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review....

This book for me was a bit predictable but a great pallet cleanser. Mira frustrated me because of her inability to stick up for herself. I'm aware this is a trauma response but when she finally did I was cheering out loud as she set the world on 🔥🔥🔥

Mira and Matt's relationship is everything you want patience, kindness and adventure. All this mixed with racing was everythinggg with some 🌶️🌶️
