Mira is back working for her father after an incident kept her away from Formula One for seven years. Will is the new driver on her father’s team who has his own bad reputation to erase. Told through their dual perspectives, Mira and Will slowly start to fall for each other, but they both don’t want to jeopardize their careers. With a lot of racing lingo and a few steamy scenes, Fast and Reckless will hook readers from the beginning.
I have not read a formula 1 racing themed book before, but I did enjoy this. Mira was a great character who had good development. I loved the fast pace and the spice! A great story
This book covers the redemption of Will (who partied away his first chance at F1) and Mira (who beat herself up about poor choices made when she was 16, still a child!). I loved the way that Will fell for Mira. The book made me sad the way Mira made him hide their relationship and to tell you the truth, I didn't get why anyone on her father's team let her take the downfall when she was 16! Will is the best part of this book and he is a 5 star hero. Mira is only okay because her insecurities really get in the way of the romance too much. That said, this book is a solid 4 stars. Thank you NetGalley and Amanda Weaver for an advanced copy for this unbiased review.
Fast & Reckless by Amanda Weaver is book one in the Racing Hearts series and it was so good!! If you like forbidden workplace romance, bosses daughter and assistant, F1 race car driver, slow burn, friends to lover, reformed playboy then you will love this book.
Miranda “Mira” Wentworth is working for her dad as his assistant for his formula one team. She has had a troubled past so she feels like she needs to make it up to her dad. Will Hawley, is a formula one driver on her dad’s team. He has a bit of a reputation and is working hard to change his bad boy image. The chemistry between these 2 is instant however, but something from Mira’s past is holding her back from having any kind of relationship with Will.
This was my first race-car, formula one book and I enjoyed it. I felt like the story was so well written, I felt like I was behind the scenes in this story. I felt the stress of the races right along with the characters. This story was told from their POV’s which was great! Will was so patient and caring when it came to Mira. I felt so bad for Mira and what she went through, I would suffer from PTSD with her. I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much. Thank you to NetGalley, Zando Publishing, and Amanda Weaver for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.
This is my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It is an off limits, workplace romance between F1 team assistant Mira and F1 driver Will. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. It is a slow burn love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, family dynamic, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Seriously entertaining.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Wow! There are so many great things I could say about this book. I was looking for something outside of my usual reads, and I decided to try something different with this racing-themed novel. I’ve never read a book centered around racing before, but now I’m absolutely hooked! The story gripped me from the very beginning and kept me engaged throughout. It’s fast-paced, thrilling, and emotional in all the right ways.
The characters were well-developed, and I found myself quickly attached to them. They had depth, flaws, and growth, which made their journeys so much more compelling. I particularly loved how the author handled the dynamics between the leads, making their connections feel authentic and powerful. One of the main characters, Miranda, happens to share my name, which was such a fun and unexpected surprise! It gave me a sense of added immersion, making me feel even more connected to the story. I also loved the character’s nickname, Mira—it’s such a cute, personal touch that I couldn’t help but smile every time I read it.
The plot itself was layered with intense racing action and deeper emotional threads, which made for a perfect blend of excitement and heartfelt moments. The balance between the high-stakes world of racing and the characters’ personal struggles and relationships was expertly handled, keeping me on the edge of my seat but also fully invested in their growth.
If you’re looking for a story that offers something fresh, with strong characters, a well-crafted storyline, and a touch of excitement, this book is an absolute must-read. Even if racing isn’t something you’re typically into, the way it’s woven into the characters’ lives and struggles makes it feel accessible and captivating. I can’t wait to dive into more books like this!
I want to thank NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review as well as the author for this free copy.
The boss's daughter falls for the reformed bad boy driver she really needs to stay away from in this Formula One racing-themed sports romance from Amanda Weaver.
Mira Wentworth knows she won't convince her father and the other racing team members that she knows her stuff if she gets involved with Will, but yet there is a spark between them that can't be ignored. So there are elements of forbidden romance here until all things just get crazy. There's a lot of pressure here for these two. Especially with Will wanting to win the title above all else.
There was a nice level of chemistry between these two, and while some may consider the "love" being more like "insta-love", I thought it was a good reflection on the pace of the environment. One of the things I really did like about this story is that I know very little about the racing world, and Fast & Reckless did a nice job of capturing what the sport was about. Great research wins the day here.
Overall, this was an entertaining sports romance based in the world of fast cars and plenty of drama. The main characters are easy to cheer on to the HEA.
Will is a Formula 1 driver for Lennox Motorsport. A few years ago he acquired a bad reputation and now wants to redeem himself. Mira is working for her dad, who runs the team. Years ago she acted out as a teen and is trying to get back into her father's good graces. First glance, Will and Mira are attracted but a relationship will not work for either of them. I loved the tension between Will and Mira as they tried to ignore their attraction. The race scenes were fantastic. I felt like I was in the race with Will. I learned so much about racing never realizing all the before racing workout. The characters are great and the action superb. Great book and great romance.
SOFT Did Not Finish. Definitely will pick up in the future. Just wasn’t feeling it at the moment. i can see myself enjoying this
I loved (almost) EVERYTHING about this.
Yes, it was an insta-love situation. However, I'm all for it because I want these two characters together so badly it would genuinely ruin my day if they didn't fall in love.
I started reading just to start it and then go to sleep, but it hooked me to the point where I had to stay up until 3 a.m. (guys I have school, I need to sleep) and I don't even care.
Will did forget he was from Britain(?) at times - randomly throwing in English terminology does not make someone English - but otherwise I love this man and I want him to find all the happiness he can.
thank you Netgalley for the arc
I always love finding new authors and their books, and Fast & Reckless is the first book I’ve read from Amanda Weaver, and it definitely won’t be my last. This book is a high-speed F1 Racing love story between Will Hawley, an F1 driver, and Mira Wentworth, his Boss’s Daughter and the team’s assistant. The issue is that Mira has sworn off F1 drivers after what happened in her past with another driver, but Will is not going to let her get away that fast. Will will do anything to win her over, even if he knows he should be focusing on racing, especially when he has to prove he’s not a party boy anymore. I was rooting for these two the whole time and even rooting for Will to win the World Championship.
Although I haven’t read many F1 Racing love stories, this book definitely has piqued my interest in reading these types of books. The way the author described the racing scenes truly transported me in the car with Will when he was racing. The characters, Will and Mira, were well-developed, and their journey from friendship to something more was entertaining and romantic.
This book does have a third-act breakup between the characters, and it’s all due to one of them thinking they were doing what was right for the other. I understood their decision, but I believe they should have talked to the other first. Don’t worry, though; Will and Mira will work it out. The best part of the book is how the person who hurt Mira in the past ends up getting what they deserved in the long run.
Overall, I give this book four stars, and I’m excited to read more books from Amanda Weaver, especially if she continues to write high-speed F1 racing HEA stories.
Single/Dual POV: Dual POV
Would I recommend this book? Yes, especially to readers who enjoy reading Formula One Romance stories where the F1 driver falls for the Boss’s Daughter.

This was a cute and quick read. I haven’t read many F1 romances that I really liked, but I found this one to be fun and enjoyable...and the writing was good! I usually don’t like tropes like insta-love, but I think it worked for these characters. This is the first book I’ve read by Amanda, but I would be interested in reading other books by her. I think maybe my F1 standards are just high and I don’t think I’ve found a book that hits the same way as Throttled at the beginning of my F1 era.
Having recently attended my first F1 race at Silverstone this summer, I was excited to read this book. This is a slow burn sports romance with a great F1 plot. The trackside drama is exciting even if you are not a racing enthusiast. This is a sweet romance with a side of mild spice and the redemption theme for Will and Mira. The travel from country to country, high stakes on the track and a romance keep the story engaging and moving along. Will and Mira are likeable characters, and it is easy for the reader to root for their successes. Violet as a side character is the perfect mix of no holds barred colleague and best friend who knows all your secrets. This is a quick and easy read and a great fit if you are looking for a mildly spicy romance and/or have an interest in Formula 1 racing.
This book appealed to me because of the Formula one setting. I have read very, very few romances with this as a backdrop (only 3 come to mind!) so I was looking forward to something a little outside of my norm. This is also my first read by this author, so of course I had no idea whether or not I would connect with her writing style. I'm happy to report that I really enjoyed Amanda Weaver's writing-most especially her attention to detail in describing the racing world. You really get a behind the scenes look at not only some of what a driver experiences, but the support team including engineers, assistants, and principal. I don't watch racing, so it was great to learn a little bit more about this competitive field. You can really tell when an author takes the time to put in extensive research and it's glaringly obvious Amanda Weaver took that aspect very seriously. Kudos to her for bringing the characters and setting to life so brilliantly.
This book has a strong forbidden romance theme from both the male and female leads' side. Will is the new driver for Mira's father's team and he is determined to prove that his disastrous party boy ways are in his past. His reputation is still in tatters after he let fame get to his head and acted unprofessionally his first time as a driver.
He wants to redeem himself in the media and prove to his new boss that he made the right choice taking a chance on him. Getting involved with his boss' daughter is the last thing that would achieve that. On Mira's side, she has a lot to prove as well. She got involved with a driver from another team which caused a lot of damage to her father's team after a scandal broke out. Now both Mira and Will are looking for redemption-the absolute last thing they are looking for is an ill-advised attraction. I enjoyed this forbidden theme quite a bit, it added some tension and anticipation. There was also a sense of foreboding as they got closer to giving into their feelings because you know everything is going to blow up in their faces quite spectacularly. It's pretty much inevitable.
Mira and Will both have their own individual struggles causing internal conflicts. Mira feels a deep sense of shame over her past foolish involvement with a man who used her horribly and ruined her reputation. She was a rebellious teenager who made a stupid decision and that choice almost destroyed her father's team as well as her own chance at a career in Formula 1. The man from her past is still around, and never fails to taunt her with her personal demons. Will is struggling to prove to the media as well as his team that his head is 100% focused on winning. More than that, he wants to become a success to finally make his snobby parents proud. He was always a disappointment to them for not joining the family banking business, and their approval is never within reach. I do wish this conflict was explored as much as Mira's was, but that's nitpicking if I'm being honest.
Mira and her father's relationship is damaged, but slowly, gradually, they begin to work their way back to a stronger place. There is a definite lack of communication between the two that has led to some hurt feelings and misunderstandings over her past mistakes. Mira is upset that her father seemingly judges her bad decisions and that there is still distrust on his side that she can be responsible. He is not the most expressive, open person so there is a bit of a wall between them. Their fragile relationship added another layer to the forbidden romance between Will and Mira because she did not want her actions to ever negatively impact her father again.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one and would definitely read another by this author in the future. Even if you're not a fan of Formula 1, there is a lot to appreciate with this romance and I'm sure you will find the detailed racing world immersive. There were hints that one of the secondary characters named Violet will be getting her own story told next, and I'm fully on board for continuing on with the series with that installment.
This is my first F1 racing story, but it won't be my last. This is a slow burn; he falls first romance set in the Formula 1 racing world, with lots of action-packed racing scenes. The author did a good job developing the characters. Mira is the FMC with a past she is trying to recover from and fix her relationship with her dad. Will is the typical bad boy trying to fix his reputation. Neither of them can let anything get in the way.
Overall, this was a cute sports romance that I devoured.
Team owner's daughter and driver might be one of the most common pairings in new adult F1 romance, but Amanda Weaver has created a world and characters that feel anything but ordinary.
Mira's backstory has emotional heft and is handled delicately (she was 16 when she got involved with a 30-year old driver on another team. Of course, he tefloned right out of the scandal, and she's the one who left racing, until now). She's super relatable as a character who knows she's got something to prove, but also can't help making some iffy decisions. I mean, it *is* Will Hawley, and she's an adult this time.
Loved the chemistry and the spice. The only questionable thing was choosing Singapore as the city where Mira & Will have a fairly public hookup.
I loved the energy and urgency in the racing sequences. And I'm already hoping this is the first in a series, because while the whole grid isn't fleshed out, there's at least one more character I want to see get her HEA!
I have to be honest, my first book from Amanda Weaver and it was a very good start. I will definitely continue to look out for more of her books in the future. I really liked the storyline, and I'm a big fan of F1. From the synopsis, I was very excited and the book def lived up to excitement. This was beyond good, and I cant wait to see what's next.
Overall 3.5 ⭐️
Thank you NetGalley, Zando, and Amanda Weaver for allowing me access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was really looking forward to reading this book because i'm a big f1 fan. Unfortunately, it didn't hit as much as I wanted it too. I think the story/plot was great but could have used some additional editing and plotting.
I love a good romance book but I am not a big fan of instalove and miscommunication which I felt did happen in this book. It pulls me out of the story and I have a hard time getting back into it. I know that other people do enjoy an instalove and miscommunication plot so I would recommend to someone who enjoys those tropes.
As for the ending, I felt it was wrapped up a bit too well with Will winning the world championship considering he hadn't raced for the past 3 years. I think it would have been a more interesting ending if he had won 2nd or 3rd and then followed up with the epilogue of him winning the following year.
Overall, it was a fun, quick read and I would recommend this book to people I know.
Fast & Reckless was a quick and lighthearted sports romance book.
It’s dual POVs of the main characters and there are some great tropes like, friends to lovers, close proximity, he falls first, an F1 and a workplace romance.
The overall premise was enjoyable. There were some amusing, sweet and fast-paced moments. It was very sports centered though, so the F1 plot did overshadow the romance and other subplots quite a bit. Both main characters storyline’s were interesting though and I loved their character growth.
The romantic development between the main characters was quite slow despite the insta-lust. There was also a bit of push and pull, especially from the heroine. The main issue I had though was that I just didn’t feel their spark or chemistry. While they did have some heartfelt and spicy moments, their connection felt quite surface level and not fully developed.
Overall, this was still just a decent read and perfect for any F1 fans.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was my first F1 romance I've read and I really enjoyed it as the story gave you that pulse-pounding feeling you get when you attend a race that it was so easy to read in just one sitting. I loved the forbidden boss’s daughter trope (even if I thought Mira's dad was a jerk for most of the book) and how Will and Mira relationship develops as they both deal with ghosts from their pasts and they help heal each other as they bring out the best in each other. (Just a note that Mira's ghosts include a 'grooming' relationship so if its a trigger be warned). If you're a sports romance fan, don't pass on this one. It's worth the read.
