A cute book for littles who visit or love Utah. Lots of great words and fun, bright pictures. Perfect for baby shower and/or grandparent gifts.

This is a cute book with little nods to the wonderful and weird about Utah. Parents will enjoy some of the less obvious references (like MLMs) while children will enjoy the colorful pictures. Perfect for anyone with a sense of humor expecting a baby Utahn.

This book is for Utahns and Utahns only. The book is entirely vocab words and illustrations with no definitions. This book is more of a joke for locals than a book to actually share with children. I will add, I've lived in Utah for 30 years and there were a handful of words that even I didn't understand.

Pjs, cuddling, and story-time before bed is a favorite at our house! The last couple weeks the kids had so much fun reading some new material I was given advanced copies of. It’s cute how now they ask what new books I have to read. As soon as I’m finished they will tell me what they loved about the book. My great little reviewers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📚📖 @netgalley #netgalley

I love these books! They are perhaps my favorite of my sons! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
The pictures are great and very educational. I want to collect every one for each state. My son loves them and will read over and over again. This book had vocabulary from types of birds and flowers to the different parts of surf! Some of the words and concepts (like biff) are a little advanced for young children but it's still great for them to hear them! I highly recommend this book and others in the series.

Review to come closer to the release day.

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

What I expected: A fun book to learn some new words from Utah. What I got: A lot of confusion.

Since this was a first 100 words book I thought this would be perfect for me, someone who is not an Utahn. I would learn some new words. Some new geography/fun facts. I was eager to dive in. Sadly, I wonder if this is more a joke book / maybe a teehee this is perfect for adult Utahns so they can nod and agree. Because while there were several things that made sense to me, a lot of them didn't. And some are not even found on Google or have mixed results that I don't even know what is right or not. For instance, what the heck is DTR? Or what is MTC? Or MLM (other than Man love man, haha)? What is the meaning of 47 with a cart? I know it is sports, but what is the Holy War? What does Deseret have to do with a hive of bees (I can only find it is a place??). And I could continue. I kept finding words or just simple abbreviations that I was seriously confused by. I was really hoping it was more like all those other fun 100 words books. Like apple. Honey. Cheese. But then in other languages. Instead I ended up with an headache. My hubby was curious what I was reading, especially when I asked him if he maybe knew DTR. He was also confused. Haha.

I also don't know why toddlers/babies have to learn things like DTR? You want these books to be simple and easily understandable.

So this was a big big disappointment. I did like the art style. The illustrations weren't always clear so that is a minus-point, but at least they were fun to look at.

I cannot rate this book very high. For the stuff I did understand + the art style I give at least a star. But that is it.

This is the most delightfully Utah book I have ever read. This isn’t a children’s book but instead 100 words uniquely associated with the state of Utah. It’s an inside joke for Utahns as many terms wont have meaning beyond state lines. Things included are physical sights, sports, history, and favorite foods. In theory a book like this could be had for every state in the nation. But the person who wrote this must have a deep connection to Utah as this isn’t just information you could gather off an internet search. I think this would be a great stocking stuffer or gift for many of my fellow Utahns. I’m so glad to have gotten to read this temporary ARC from Familius via NetGalley and I am leaving an honest review.

100 words that are associated with Utah. I didn't realize that someone from Utah was a Utahn so I had to look it up. I had to look up a lot of words because I didn't know what they were but it gives adults the opportunity to learn as well.

This would be a fun gift for anyone who lives in Utah because the whole thing is basically an inside joke. This little book made me laugh, and I did really like the art! These pictures would be funny decor. While this is a niche book, if you are the audience, you will probably like it.
