I truly enjoyed this book! This was a great book for young children to learn about pets and companionship as well as the bond and love of siblings. The pictures are really pretty and the story will keep children interested. This is a great story for bedtime!
We adopted two tabby kittens in June so I knew that this book was going to be a hit with my daughter - and she really enjoyed it!
I thought that the story was well written and it had a lovely flow to the story.
My daughter found the book easy to read and follow and she read the book in one sitting.
The kittens in the book are fun and cheeky and she loved what they got up too as well.
The illustrations are really nice and they suit the story too
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!
Honestly, I was not a fan of this book. I found the whole story to be a bit strange but, the thing that aggravated me was the old man spraying the kittens for being on the table while he is eating and on the very next page he has the kittens on the table and is letting them lick his bowls- On The Table! On the table or off the table- Pick one! Not recommending this one.
Two Little Black Kittens by S.E Stanley tells the adorable story of a lonely old man who decides to get a kitten for companionship and instead gets two as he can't split them up. The illustrations are cute and I liked the story.
A cute story about two adorable kittens. The writing was a bit stilted and I didn't love the "art" or the layout of the writing. I would honestly question if this was an AI generated book?
Thank you Netgalley and booksgosocial for the ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Two little black kittens is a cute story but a story that is too long to read for young readers. I mostly had to show the adorable illustration to my kid coz she was bored.
I wish it had short sentences so it could keep my kid engaged. For older kids like 7-8 years old this might be a better choice.

This is a great book for all animal loving children. It tells of an old lonely man who gets two kittens to keep him company and the adventures Bonnie and Clyde have in his house. It teaches children the right care for animals and to respect them and captures the characters of cats very well. Highly recommended for bedtime reading!

The best thing about this book was the story. There is a lonely man who wants to adopt a kitten. He ends up finding a bonded pair of siblings. The cats get into mischief and the man learns how to care for them. This is nicely spelled out for children without being a drag. The cover art is deceiving because the book art is redundant and boring. The pictures hardly change from page to page. This would be a good book for kids who are learning to read but need some challenge. I was rather confused about the label "A Bedtime Story" as this doesn't outline a bedtime routine for the cats. It does mention where the cats sleep but it is not a "wind down" kind of story.
There is even something for adults as the cats are named Bonnie and Clyde.
This is an adorable little story about an old man who had been so lonely and decided to get a kitten. He ended up with two adorable black kittens who were brother and sister. They were always into mischief and he named them Bonnie and Clyde. Your family will love this heartwarming little story. I have a little one who loves cats and this story was perfect to tell to her. The illustrations are colorful and bright. Enjoy this fun little adventure.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy of Two Little Kittens. Two Little Kittens is a heartwarming children’s book about a man who wants a kitten to keep him company. He ends up taking two kittens, named Bonnie and Clyde, so that the sibling kittens would not be separated. I enjoyed how the book showed pet owner responsibilities that come with having kittens - such as teaching them to use the litter box, going to the vet, and keeping them happy with a new scratching post. The illustrations are adorable and well done. This would be a great book for a young child who loves kittens or has kittens of their own. I do wish there was more of a rescue (adopt, don’t shop) kind of message for how he acquired the kittens but I wouldn’t expect a child reading this to consider that. Overall, very cute.
This book teaches children what it is like to get kittens, bring them home, what to expect when they go to vet, how to care for them, feed them and teach them no gently. I loved that the man showed such kindness and patience and love to the kittens. Great book to show how to care for pets, how to enjoy them, and the happiness and love they bring into your life.
Great book about a lonely, old man who decides to buy a cat to keep him company. Instead of a cat, the old man ends up getting two little black kittens that are brother and sister. Would interest many young people.

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE cats. Like I am obsessed with them (all animals really), so I knew I had to read this book. It was super adorable and fun and I so wish I had a child to read it too. I know this would've been a favorite of mine if it was published when I was a child.

Fun story, and I liked the illustrations.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
It was a quite alright and easy-going picture book about an elder man who adopts two mischievous.
I didn't love the illustration unfortunately as it was to digital and picart for my taste and the facial expressions on the characters was to stiff. Also the text and the background had some misses when it comes to balance. In some slides the text was covering the picture or was blended in to the background.
The story in itself was cute and alright. It could have needed some work and depth. But for some easy reading or for the children to start reading, it may work.

I enjoyed this story overall. The illustrations were cute and the little black cats on the cover were what caught my attention. It’s a cute story about an old man that wants to get a little cat companion and ends up with two. It shows important aspects of taking care of two mischievous kittens like taking them to the vet, feeding them, cleaning up after them, having a space dedicated to them.
I would recommend this for kids who have a better grasp on reading on their own.

My Opinion
It is a book about an elderly man who adopts two black cats and how life is going with them. I thought the cover and all the illustrations were adorable. It was very age appropriate for kids. Some kids may not know what an "arrow cursor" is on a computer, word choice that may be an issue. The names are also cute, parents are able to know Bonnie and Clyde. Kids see two cute names for the pair. It has very bright colors to help learn them and point them out. Overall, it is a very cute book.
Thank you to Net Galley for thise- copy of Two Black Kittens by S. E. Stanley in exchange for a honest review. This is a cute story about two little black kittens named Bonnie and Clyde who are adopted by an old man . They provide him with companionship and love and in return he takes care of all their wants and needs . This is a very cute story and reminded me of many of the hijinks my cats had also done like climbing the Christmas tree. Great bedtime read.
The story was very simple and didn't strike me as unique. The illustrations seemed too clipart like.
Always up for a kitten story, especially with the promise of all the cutesy vibes of children's books, I was sadly disappointed by this one. The illustrations lack charm and soul (personal taste of course), it looks way too similar to what some AI can generate. And the text doesn't have any climax or stakes. It's just a flat, long-winded description of a day in the life of a new kitten parent. Even kiddos want to be invested in the story they're told, and there wasn't that much excitement there.
