I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book. I generally prefer dual POV but really enjoyed this. Some of the sentences seemed a little abrupt or matter of fact but it didn’t negate the overall story or experience IMO.
It was the first book I’ve read by this author and I liked the balance between the emotionally raw and real struggles to the spice and romance. For everything Abby had gone through, she was still sweet and sassy which spoke to her character. Titus had no qualms about showing his feelings for Abby, although in true man fashion, he wasn’t always clear with his wording but not even book boyfriends are perfect! There was no 3rd act break up, which I loved and they worked well together through any issues. Their chemistry was dynamic and showed throughout the book!
I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author and series!
Thank you J. L. Brannick, Smart Mouth Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC!

Binge Reading Worthy!! The first chapter alone had me hooked! I honestly was walking in blind as I have not read other books from this series, but I was able to keep up on all of the characters. I do think the background may have helped reading this book.
The dynamic between Abby and Titus begins with a fake dating situation to help Abby get out of an abusive home and help Titus gain custody of his son. I was confused how this would work with Abby’s background and Titus’ demeanor. I slowly got to see his soft side toward her. It was very adorable how he interacted with her daughter as well! Overall…..such an amazing book.
PS the spicy alone makes this book worth a read!
I love this Palm Springs Book Series and Thirsty Thursdays is my favorite so far.
The Abby and Titus relationship is killer. I loved watching both of them grow as strangers to friends to lovers. Abby herself comes out of her shell and grows from a shy abused woman into a confident mom and business woman. Titus is a hockey star and he is very confident in knowing what his wants and ultimately he wants Abby and is so gentle with her and adorable with her daughter. Titus has hired Abby to be his live in girlfriend to help him get custody of his son. What the two of them do for each other and how they support each other is fantastic.
This is one hot, feel good story. The supportive characters are great too and characters from the first three books also shows up in this book which was neat too.
J.L. Brannick did a fantastic job on this book and I can’t wait see what she does with “friday”.
Thank you NetGalley and J.L. Brannick for the ARC of this book
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book. I did not read the synopsis in advance but was intrigued by the title. Enter Abby and her daughter Stella who have been physically and mentally abused by Abby's father. Isabella, her close friend helps her to escape to another state to become a faux girlfriend for Titus, a pro hockey player trying to get custody of his son. Fast forward to the culmination of sexual tension between Abby and Titus. What follows is a "how to" sex guide plus the addition of sex toys which is Abby's new business. Then we go back to the abusive father and some drama there. All in all, this was not a favorite of mine.
I absolutely loved this book! The characters were wonderfully written, and I loved how sweet and caring Titus was!! It was a beautiful story, and I’d love to read the rest of the series!
This is my first book from this author, so I had no idea what to expect. Honestly, after the first few chapters, I didn’t know if I was going to finish. Something about the writing just irked me. It was a bit too amateurish or something. I can’t quiet put my finger on it. It just didn’t feel well written.
The book tells the story of Titus, a hockey player, and Abby, a much younger, single mom who start as a bit of a “fake” couple to help Titus get custody of his son and get Abby out of an abusive situation. It has a great spice level if that is what you are looking for!
I was entertained by this book but I wouldn’t say that it hooked me enough to seek out more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my review.
This was a book that broke some stereotype/cliches that you most probably expected as you read. I just realized that this was a series and um, this is my first book in it, which is, yes I know now, the 4th book. Maybe that is why instead of some backstory, we were thrust into the story in the first page. And I liked it, even tho i do not have the bg story, i still understood the book and it made it seemed fast paced but it was at almost 50% mark that we get to see the love in story progressed. I'd call it slow burn. Kinda lost me with the anxiety that i skimmed near 75% mark of the book, i was afraid the parents of the FMC will show up and do bad things to her and the kids, amd that is when it swerved into the expectations. But nevertheless it was still a good book, i just don't know if i want to delve into this world more tho.
Thanks publisher and netgalley for the e-arc
This is my first book by J.L. Brannick, but when I read the blurb that this was a hockey romance, count me in! Luckily, this book was well, written and had a great pace to it. This book includes a triggering storyline of abuse, so please be aware of that. Also, there is a tremendous amount of sex in this book, so if you don't like that, you should also skip this one. With all of that said, I liked Titus and Abby, our main characters, but Titus was for sure my favorite. Unlike most romance books heroes, he was so open and honest with Abby about his feelings, which really helps this book because it is told in first person by Abby's POV. I'm not normally a fan of one POV, but because Titus was so open with Abby all of the time, it worked really well in this book. This was a 4.5 star book rounded up to 5 stars. Thank you NetGalley and J.L. Brannick for an advanced copy.
This book was so much fun! Coming back to Brannick's Palm Springs feels like coming home at this point, and again she delivers one of my favorite FMC and MMC pairings with Titus and Abby, I love these books.
In Thirsty Thursday, the banter between the couple was hilarious, their chemistry was palpable, and I loved how Brannick writes kids. It also may inspire me to try out a segsy subscription box, because those two had sooo much fun with it I was a little bit jealous.
Having read the entirety of the Palm Springs Series, I think Thirsty Thursdays is my favourite so far!
I'll be honest, the beginning felt a little messy, and I definitely think that someone who hadn't read at least the previous book (Whiskey Wednesdays) would be a little lost with what's going on as this is jumps straight in as a continuation of events in that story. Having said that, I did really enjoy Titus and Abby's story. We had create cameos from previous characters, cute kids, cherry boxes (iykyk) and some truly awful family members.
I definitely recommend this book if you enjoyed the others in this series.
