I’m not easy to impress with thrillers. This book pleasantly surprised me! I should add that I didn’t realize that this was the second book. Now I’m going to go look for the first book!
My download only consisted of the jacket of the book. I contacted support but got no reply. I purchased a physical copy of the book for my review.
I was eager to read a second book about Abigail and was not disappointed. I enjoy the historical setting of these books and the fast paced action. There was so much going on at one point I didn't know who to be more worried about. The author knows exactly how to back a character into a corner and make it seem like there is no way out.
It had been a while since I read the first book, so I appreciated the subtle way the author threw in reminders of the plot without regurgitating the whole storyline which is a mistake I've come across in other novels by other authors.
Don't be fooled by the first 100 pages. This is not a cosy mystery. It gets quite gritty.
Abi, her husband missing in action, she holds onto a glimmer of hope for his return. However, her past connections to missing girls resurface, bringing her back into the world of mystery and intrigue. Abi finds herself faced with a new challenge. The second installment in the series, titled "A Shred of Doubt," is filled with twists and revelations that keep the reader on the edge of their seat.
Despite the obstacles she faces, Abi remains determined to uncover the truth and demonstrating her commitment to seeking out the truth no matter the cost.
In conclusion, "A Shred of Doubt" is a riveting installment in Abi's journey, filled with suspense, intrigue, and unexpected twists. The reader is left eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Abi's story. 4/5 rating.
A serial killer is stalking young women in and around Jackson, Alabama! Good book! This book had an interesting storyline, it had suspense, murder, mystery, intrigue, action, a good who done it and some crazy twists and turns thrown in! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
