This is a wonderful story for younger children. The author uses simple text to show the process of growing an oak tree from an acorn. This book would generate great discussion about patience and caring for the environment in younger children.

The pictures are gorgeous. They are intricate and detailed. I appreciated the illustrator’s attention to detail; they drew specific plants found in the forest, not just generic trees.

This would be a fantastic book to read with 3-6 year olds.

We're Off to the Forest follows two squirrels as they visit a tree they grew from an acorn. I loved the illustrations! They were so detailed and colorful. The story was sweet and teaches young children that planting an acorn can form an Oak tree.

I received an ARC from Albatros Media via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute book about a daddy squirrel and his son taking a fall walk through the forest looking at their hidden acorn. Adorable illustrations of all the different animals in the forest. The book teaches children about the importance of taking care of nature, and that even the tiniest little acorn can grow to a big oak tree!

This book was very simple. I wouldn't say that was necessarily a bad thing, other than I couldn't get into the story that much before it ended, and I think kids reading this might be bored or disappointed. However, the illustrations didn't match this tone. They were super colorful, detailed, and beautiful. The illustrations were more interesting than the story.
Although, I will say that there was a good idea that I found towards the end of the story, about the benefits of endless love and care. The author conveyed this idea loosely, but it was still a little bit present. Unfortunately, though, it was so subtle that kids will likely not pick up on it.
In conclusion, I think that this book has a lot of potential but it will probably fall a bit short with the audience of focus, younger readers.

This is a cute book to help explain the life cycle of oak trees to kids. Kids will see how animals use acorns throughout the year and how planting them helps make more treasure for the future.

This follows a squirrel and his dad into the forest where they store food and learn how something small can turn into something huge for the forest. The squirrel and his dad bond over planting an acorn and what become of the acorn.

The illustrations were bright and colorful holding my 2 year old and 5 year old's attention. The pictures went well with the story helping with the explanation of the storyline.

The story was cute, easy to understand, and educational. Very cute! I will add review to amazon once I am able to post, which I am assuming is near or on the publishing date.

Thank you Albatros, NetGalley, and Katarina Macurova for allowing us to review this adorable adventure.

This is a super cute little book, but it feels too short. That being said, once it is published in paperback, it is likely that I will get a copy for my nature story time at work.

We're Off to the Forest was a darling picture book about a squirrel & his father exploring the forest. This book had amazing illustrations & showed all of the ways that the squirrels were interacting with the forest by gathering acorns & interacting with other animals.

I felt like this one was really special and loved that it had a message about doing small good deeds that could become big good deeds with a little patience.

Thanks to NetGalley, Albatros Media, and Katarina Macurova for the chance to read & review!
