Very sweet story about a dad who loves his kids. It was so sweet and my kids would have loved a book like this when they were younger. Seeing everything from a dad's perspective was great.

I have a confession - I've read this book before. I was absolutely thrilled to see it available on Netgalley; I remember being deeply moved by this book the first time I read it.

Made for Me is a precious depiction of a new father and his sweet baby. It's obvious from page one this daddy is anxiously awaiting his newborn child, and I love it! The father is depicted as this giant of a man, while his child is sooooo tiny. If you've ever had a baby I'm sure you can relate - they seem so very small compared to everything else around them. Throughout the book the father tells his child how they were made just for him, and how he cherishes every new discovery, new day, new word with his baby. It's the perfect bedtime story or Father's Day gift; Made for Me truly celebrates a father's role in his child's life, and reminds me so much of my own beautiful husband.

Zack Bush really did a phenomenal job with Made for Me, and I sincerely hope to see his other works in the future.

The market is filled with books that depict a mother's love for her children and how they help them prepare for the world. However, this book stands out by sharing the love of a father. Every father loves their child immensely, but their emotions are often not shown to the world. This book captures these emotions and takes us on an emotional journey as we witness the father's gentle handling and care for his child.

The story starts with, the father seeing his baby for the first time, his entire world changed. He remembered every detail of his child, from head to toe, and said, "Of all the children that could ever be, you were the one made for me." This phrase kept repeating throughout the book as the child went through each stage of life.

This book is a beautiful tribute from a father to his child. It is a precious and special book that belongs on every family's bookshelf. The book is an explosion of art and beauty, capturing a range of emotions and feelings. It makes a perfect gift for any expecting father or new father.

This was such an adorable book.

I read it and then I asked my husband to read it with our daughter. They both looked so adorable reading together especially a dad daughter book.

Mostly it is I who read books with her and she enjoys it. My husband doesn't get much time so he mostly plays with her. This was one of the rare moments when they both sat together and read the book. I felt so emotional.

So here I'm writing this review, all teary eyed and emotional wreck thanks to Netgalley and familius and Zack Bush. Thank you very much for the precious moment with all my heart.

It is rare that I like the prose of a picture book more than its illustrations and here this is probably the first time that this has happened.
It is definitely one of the first times.
The prose is fantastic: touching, tender, lovely, inspiring.
The illustrations are cute as well - the size of the parent compared to the tiny baby is a nice touch and perspective.
Though, I would have liked a different style of illustrations out of personal taste only. But, the style is as promised on the cover, and definitely high quality.
I recommend this book to EVERYONE!
4.5 stars.

In a Nutshell: A sweet bedtime story from a father to his child. Cute graphics, great sentiments.

This bedtime story is written from a dad’s perspective, addressing his little child as they prepare for bedtime. As there’s no mom in the story or illustrations, the dad is a hand-on father, doing everything for his child without hesitation.

Each page contains only a two-line verse, so the look is quite clutter-free. The couplets are written in simple rhythmic prose. Most of the rhymes are well done, with only a couple of them feeling forced. However, the tenses are all over the place, with the text juggling across past, present and future randomly. There are also a couple of redundancies, such as ‘small tiny hands”. The issues I mentioned are mostly ones that only adults with notice so kiddos shouldn’t have a problem with this sweet book.

I love the affirmation that is repeated once every few pages: “Of all the children that could ever be, You are the one made just for me”. What a lovely thought for kids to know!

The illustrations are cute, with the soft colours working perfect for the mood. The gigantic father represents how he sees his child literally as being his little one. I also love how the child’s gender is kept neutral in the story, both in the text and in the illustrations. The book can thus be used for a child of any gender in real life.

All in all, a good bedtime story for the littlest of littlies. This will work well as a bedtime read for ages 0-5.

3.75 stars.

Made For Me is an adorably sweet picture book for children about a father and the love he has for his child. This book shows an excited father waiting to meet his newborn son at the beginning and then goes through little stages of his life and expresses how much he loves him and just how much he means to him. Told in rhyming form with jolly and engaging illustrations, this book made me smile at every turn of the page.
The book focuses on just the father and son throughout the book and all the fun and joy they have together and bring each other making it a special book about the love of a father.

Such a sweet book, perfect for Father's Day. I love how the father appears huge in comparison to the child.
I love the illustrations. However, I feel the book might be a tad too long for some children.

A fun picture book that I think would make a good Father's Day gift, especially for a dad's first Father's Day because it really is focused on dad and baby/small child. I appreciated the fact that the child in this book was never identified as a specific gender, so you could gift this to an anyone and would be good for any child to see themselves in the baby. The book is told in rhyme which sometimes doesn't quite work but overall, it's a fun read and moves relatively quickly. It also doesn't show a second parent, so there is room for interpretation even though the traditional mom/dad is spoken to at one point.

The illustrations are nicely done.

Definitely a great read along or read aloud.
