Made for Me

Made for Me was such a sweet read; I actually cried. The illustrations were vibrant and eye catching for my little one and she loved looking at the pictures. The rhymes were also really fun and easy to keep my daughters attention. I loved that it was a book that didn't give a gender to the child in the writing. All children will be able to enjoy this book and have it feel like it's about them! After reading, I actually purchased a copy for my husband for his first Father's Day. I thought it was absolutely brilliant and so well written. Perfect for babies and kids.

This book is a sweet bedtime story depicting a father's love for his child. It would make a great gift to an expecting father as books like this with the father as the featured parent are harder to come by! The text is very positive, loving, kind and affirming. This is sure to be a great addition to any nursery and is sure to be cherished as the years fly by.

This one's just for the Daddies out there . . .

Here's a sweet love letter from Dad to his new little tyke that's sure to tug at your heartstrings and put a smile on your face. It's just adorable with a capital A. And, I loved the illustrations by Gregorio De Laurentis that depict Daddy as a gentle giant.

Superlatively well done, this love letter from a father to a child shows fine wit, in amongst the sentiment, which works as opposed to ladling on the cheese, typical gift book fashion. What heightens everything is that the father here is a humongous blob of masculinity – under a brick coloured shirt with brick-styled texture/print to it too. Compared to that the baby is a leaf of fragile humanity, seemingly able to be blown away more easily than it is to be held at finger-tips. We have books aplenty in this category, that act as pictorial messages of devotion, and we ought to have the people able to declare it in ways not too dissimilar to what we have here. But the visual contrast and the sincere warmth here do make this stand out as something so much better than many similar volumes. The couplets are very strong, keeping their rhythm, the refrain in the text is glorious, and while it would help the father character here doesn't have to be matched by real life for this to really, really work, and to be really, really appreciated. Four and a half stars.

Well that made me cry. Every parent needs this book. I love the illustrations in this book. I will definitely be recommending this one to everyone.

This book was ABSOLUTELY precious. The illustrations were adorable, it made the relationship seem so much more precious. I loved the story and that it was from the father’s perspective, showing that he loves the child HE was given for HIM as he is. Absolutely lovely, every dad should have this book.

It is rare that I like the prose of a picture book more than its illustrations and here this is probably the first time that this has happened.
It is definitely one of the first times.
The prose is fantastic: touching, tender, lovely, inspiring.
The illustrations are cute as well - the size of the parent compared to the tiny baby is a nice touch and perspective.
Though, I would have liked a different style of illustrations out of personal taste only. But, the style is as promised on the cover, and definitely high quality.
I recommend this book to EVERYONE!
