I really like that this book provides advice for parents or guardians to help their children speak. While this cannot replace a speech pathologist if necessary, I do think that this can provide a parent some of the tools to work with their child on their speech. I’m pursuing a degree in Speech Pathology, and this book covers a lot that I have learned.
The illustrations in this book are adorable! This may make it an especially useful tool for a parent.
As a former SLP myself, this is the exact type of book I often looked for to recommend to my clients and their caregivers. The illustrations are engaging and appealing to younger audiences with plenty of opportunities to model words beyond the text of the book. A perfect follow up to "Let's Go, Puppy" and a great addition to your bookshelf if you're a parent, caregiver, or supportive professional of any child developing early speech sounds.
An excellent book that lays foundation for strong literacy skills.
The beginning pages gives caregivers ideas for how to expand on and use the book effectively.
The book itself is cute and I love the ideas for making it interactive and memorable. It's all things I try to do when I'm reading books in story times with babies and preschoolers. I wish there were more books like this!
Holly's done it again. This delightful romp through Kitty's day is both fun and useful to me as an SLP. It has those high-frequency, early developing words; it has the repetition I'm going for in a session, and it catches the eye with those adorable illustrations by Emil Rutherford. I loved the first book (Let's Go, Puppy) and I'm adding this one to my list of faves as well.
I loved this companion book to author Holly Rosensweig’s previous board book “Let’s Go, Puppy”. Emily Rutherford’s charming illustrations are featured once again and observant readers may notice the puppy makes a surprise appearance in this story line. This would be a worthwhile addition to baby’s first library and a favorite to explore with parents or caregivers . The bonus is that early language development can take place while enjoying time together. I highly recommend both books!
What a great book for pre-k students age other young readers! I loved the adorable illustrations and the frequent use of high frequency words. Strongly recommend!!
I love this book as much as I love “Let’s Go Puppy!” I was given early access to read it, and the toddlers that I have shared it with love it too! I will be adding this book to my personal collection of books that I use in therapy when it comes out in August. I will also recommend it to the families of children I serve. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I see how invaluable reading with your child can be. This book also gives wonderful information to parents about speech and language strategies. The kids love to try and imitate the exclamatory words on each page, and the illustrations are beautiful.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an arc to read, review, and rate.
As a parent of a child that had speech issues, I can appreciate that this book focuses on simple words and actions with illustrations that match as well as a guide on things to go and encourage in the front. This book can be a useful tool for parents of littles, regardless if they are working with a therapist or not.
This picture book was fantastic in encouraging early literacy skills! There are repetitive words as well as a strong storyline. The repetition allows kids to recognize words and potentially sound them out as they become readers. The familiarity can also boost reader confidence. The actions words throughout the story also make it easy to keep little ones engaged. The art was beautiful, but not overwhelming. The tips for caregivers at the beginning are super handy as well! Highly recommend this book!

Very cute illustrations and I can definitely see this being a book that little ones can enjoy. Also one that won’t parents won’t mind reading over and over again.
We loved this book! My son is 15 months and working on his first words, and he loved this book. This is perfect for reading to littles who aren’t ready for a full sit-down story, but are interested in books. The illustrations were adorable and it is a great read.
I loved the simplicity of this book for developing reading with infants. It has great prompt for inexperienced parents in the cover. It uses a good range of early vocabulary with engaging pictures and lots of repetition. Delightful. Definitely one to recommend.
This is a super cute book to encourage babies and toddlers to talk about things going on around them. I have a 2 year old and he loves kitties so this was interesting for him. The pictures were fun and the content was relevant for a baby or toddler. I think it was great that there isn't an overwhelming amount of background detail in the pictures as well. I appreciate that there's a parent guide and an early speech sounds infographic at the beginning of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the Advance Reader Copy of this August 27th 2024 release date children's board book.
This book is written by a Speech Therapist who opens the book with simple tips to help parents teach their children sounds and language. I am very interested in early childhood books because my twins were born 10-weeks prematurely, and I was advised to speak to them constantly, narrating my actions and the world around us, in order to develop language skills. I'm so thankful for that advice, as my kids ended up with late, but strong receptive and expressive language skills that I tie back to my constant verbal interactions with them.
Besides being educational, this book is charming and easy to narrate as a parent, highlighting actions, sounds, words, or whatever works for your child. Definitely recommend! 5-stars.

Really good book for little ones who are just starting to read. My daughter loved the pictures and she was able to expand on the story herself from looking at them.
This was a cute little book of first sounds including an adorable little Kitty. The illustrations are sweet. There are repeated words to encourage your little one with their speech.
I intended to read this to my 4 year old, he is starting school in September. But the book is aimed at younger children and babies to help with speech - not reading - my mistake.
All in all a sweet little book I’m sure will help younger children with speech formation.
Super easy read for the little ones, with adorable illustrations. Early reads are extremely important and this book makes it super fun.
