Let's Go, Kitty is an adorable illustrated book perfect for parents to read to young children. I loved the tips in the beginning for how to interact with children during the story to enhance the experience.

I received an ARC from Ninewise Publishing | Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was toddler approved. The story was very simple, and geared towards babies and toddlers learning to talk. It was also great for a 2.5 year old, who is already a great speaker, but used the illustrations to “read” it to me too! Definitely would recommend this one for littles who are learning to talk

This book is highly indicated for babies! Not only it has amazing drawings that will hold the child’s attention, but it also encourages the children to learn the sounds and the words that describe those same sounds.
I recommend this to every parent or person that has a baby in their lives! It will be a good way to spend time with them, while also encouraging to learn new things and develop their brains.
I will for sure be reading this with my baby goddaughter! I know for a fact that she will love this as much as I did.

This is a short but sweet little book for pre-verbal children. I think it would be great to read to an infant or young toddler. The tips about how to encourage speech were great. Cute, simple, bright illustrations.

I love the tips at the start of the book! The pictures are so pretty too, I love colourful imagery!

I really like the use of repetition and threes in this book, while I know nothing about first words, I feel like this could be so helpful! I guess it's hard to tell how to rate a book like this unless you have some experience on if it actually works or not.

I loved the first part of this book where it was a note to parents/ adults. It gave recommendations on speech sounds for babies/kids. The illustrations were great and I really feel like kids would love this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author.

This is a sweet little book focusing on early sounds and language development in young kids. I’m also a speech pathologist so my review may have a different perspective. I do love the repetition in the book and also appreciate that pictures show beginning sounds that can be labeled and talked about such as (Apple, pear, banana). Each page is an opportunity to expand sentence length and talk about structure. I did find some of the words are later developing such as; squeak, drink, play etc. Another critical component of language is the ability to comprehend, retell and make inferences as to what will happen next. This book does have opportunities for that.
I loved the pictures, but I think the book could have been a little longer using more age appropriate sounds in words. I mean kitties are mischievous and so much could have been added to this nice little story.

This is a perfect toddler book for language development. Kids will like the kitty and want to read it again and again. As an educator, I love that it includes tips for parents as well. Language development is so important and often missed in this era where our primary conversationis often online.

I love how this book is so simple, yet every word is so intentional. It’s amazing how much learning can happen in just a few pages. Plus, my kids love cats, so it’s hard to go wrong with an adorable cat.

SLP here! I was already a huge fan of "Let's Go Puppy" and am now excited to add "Let's Go Kitty" to the rotation! The story is rich with core vocabulary and the illustrations are perfect for my preschoolers! I know my students will be engaged and will want to read this story again and again! Can't wait to own a copy!!

This is the first time I'm seeing a book in this series. This is amazing! I work closely with early intervention and love the guidance for care givers and the simple text allowing little ones to tell the story. This looks great for little ones from infant to 2 years+ depending on skills.

I would like to preface my review by saying thank you to netgalley for sending me a copy of Let's Go, Kitty! in exchange for my honest review.

I was immediately attracted to this title based off the fact it was written by a Speech Pathologist. I also appreciated the guide at the beginning for parents to help encourage speech in young children. I thought the illustrations were vibrant and it was a quick and simple read for children just starting to learn speech!

Thank you netgalley and ninewise for the gifted arc!

This is such a great first words book! I love the instructions at the beginning for parents. I don’t always know the best way to teach new words to my daughter, so it’s really helpful to have it written out! The illustrations are so adorable too.

Ohhhh I love the formatting on this book, and the idea behind it! It is not just a picture book, but a book to expose the children to early words and truthfully engaged listening as well. You are taught to repeat what is taught, point to objects, use gestures on each page, converse about what is on the page, and then expand on what is taught by adding to the simple words that are in the story. This book is written by a Speech-Language Pathologist and it is meant to encourage early words and I do believe that if a parent used this book in their reading rotation with their child it could help them with pronouncing words early on, and in context.

I had so much fun reading this book, the story is so adorable and the illustrations were so well done and charming, there’s so many little details in every page that I couldn’t stop but be mesmerized by it all. I will definitely be recommending it! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy

A lovely story about a kitty which also doubles as a helpful learning tool. There is plenty of repetition to help your little one learn and to encourage them to engage.

This would be great for babies and toddlers who are finding their voice.

Perfect for sharing one on one as a lap-read or as a gift when signing up for an infant card at the library, the simple story of a child and cat moving about their house and yard amuses while the illustrations provide ample room for engagement (where is the mouse? how many bees do you see?)

Caregivers will appreciate the informational section with tips on encouraging young children to express themselves, while those young children will enjoy the gentle illustrations and silly antics of the characters. Thank you to NetGalley for access to this arc!

This book is a very good tool for early childhood speech development. It gives a clear visual representation of the word on the page in the illustration, so that your baby can connect the action on the page to the words being repeated. The repetition of the words makes it very clear to the baby what word is being practiced. And as the book suggests, adding words to the story as your child knows and understands the words printed in the book is good.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Ninewise publishings for giving me a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a very short book, good for a quick goodnight book. IT encourages the words in repetition and has images to match the words. This book is a perfect representation of a cat! Illustrations are nice, but would love to see brighter colors, these were pretty subdued colors. This book did have instructions at the beginning of the book on how to best utilize the information in the book. and This is a very short book, good for a quick goodnight book. Review to come a few days before the release day in August on my blog/other places.

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

I am so sorry but I just cannot resist a cute picture book with a cute cat on it! Plus, the premise of this one sounded superduper fun!

This is a picture book mostly told by speech sounds, actions, and a couple of very easy sentences. Which makes this story very fun and playful and gave me manga manga/graphic novel vibes (with all the sound effects in those). In this cute little picture book we meet a little cat and a boy. They are spending a whole day together doing all sorts of fun things! From drinking something together (drink drink drink) to playing together (bounce bounce bounce) to getting stuck in the tree (help help help). It was just so fun and this will definitely be a fantastic book for babies and toddlers to learn them early things. Plus, of course, the story is freaking cute and that helps! The kitty and the boy were adorable, I definitely wanted to give the kitty a big hug (yes, I am allergic but I will take it, haha).

The illustrations were so fabulous, I love the style, if I would have to describe it I would say it is very soft and playful.

Oh, and I love the introduction to the book in which we learn some more about speech, gestures, and sounds. While I have no plans on getting kids, if I had them and they were young enough I would have definitely used this book + did even more research on things. It is so interesting. Like, I have seen people teach babies sign language so they can tell you what they need through gestures. So nice!

All in all, this is not just a cute book but also learns both adults and babies/toddlers something fun and new. I would recommend it!

As a former SLP myself, this is the exact type of book I often looked for to recommend to my clients and their caregivers. The illustrations are engaging and appealing to younger audiences with plenty of opportunities to model words beyond the text of the book. A perfect follow up to "Let's Go, Puppy" and a great addition to your bookshelf if you're a parent, caregiver, or supportive professional of any child developing early speech sounds.

An excellent book that lays foundation for strong literacy skills.

The beginning pages gives caregivers ideas for how to expand on and use the book effectively.

The book itself is cute and I love the ideas for making it interactive and memorable. It's all things I try to do when I'm reading books in story times with babies and preschoolers. I wish there were more books like this!

Holly's done it again. This delightful romp through Kitty's day is both fun and useful to me as an SLP. It has those high-frequency, early developing words; it has the repetition I'm going for in a session, and it catches the eye with those adorable illustrations by Emil Rutherford. I loved the first book (Let's Go, Puppy) and I'm adding this one to my list of faves as well.

I loved this companion book to author Holly Rosensweig’s previous board book “Let’s Go, Puppy”. Emily Rutherford’s charming illustrations are featured once again and observant readers may notice the puppy makes a surprise appearance in this story line. This would be a worthwhile addition to baby’s first library and a favorite to explore with parents or caregivers . The bonus is that early language development can take place while enjoying time together. I highly recommend both books!

What a great book for pre-k students age other young readers! I loved the adorable illustrations and the frequent use of high frequency words. Strongly recommend!!

I love this book as much as I love “Let’s Go Puppy!” I was given early access to read it, and the toddlers that I have shared it with love it too! I will be adding this book to my personal collection of books that I use in therapy when it comes out in August. I will also recommend it to the families of children I serve. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I see how invaluable reading with your child can be. This book also gives wonderful information to parents about speech and language strategies. The kids love to try and imitate the exclamatory words on each page, and the illustrations are beautiful.

We loved this book! My son is 15 months and working on his first words, and he loved this book. This is perfect for reading to littles who aren’t ready for a full sit-down story, but are interested in books. The illustrations were adorable and it is a great read.

Perfect for teaching babies their first words! The images are great to engage babies and help them notice what things look like and assist in them recognizes everyday objects. The parent guide for teaching at the beginning will definitely be so helpful to new parents. It had comprehensive and easy-to-do steps for parents to follow, and I think that this book will be a fun tool for parents to use in teaching their kids new words and basic terms.

Let's Go, Kitty!
by Holly Rosensweig

I received a digital copy of this picture book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I read this once by myself and once with my youngest niece who is 3 and obsessed with kitties.

As an experienced mom of 2 and aunt of many I appreciate the value of the opening informational guide about speech sounds and ideas for expanding on the book.

This makes the book especially good as a gift for new parents or young parents still figuring out how to parent. In my real life job part of what I do is assessing children with developmental delays. Children in the range of 2-2.5 may have few words/language but it’s not always because of an underlying issue sometimes it’s because parents and caregivers have not understood how important it is to talk to and with small children all the time to help them learn and grow. So providing specific examples of how and when and why are valuable.

This is the type of book that while the words on the page are few it’s easy to expand upon with the images and action to have a conversation with a child about what is happening what could happen and why/how.

This would make an excellent baby shower gift.

5/5

I absolutely loved this book aimed for babies and pre-verbal toddlers. The illustrations on each page are engaging for the child and give the reader an opportunity to not only demonstrate language, but actions and cause and effect.

I appreciate the time and attention that went into crafting this book and the tips from the author at the beginning were very helpful!

A great baby book for new parents!

"Let's go Kitty" is a cute little picture book for babies and toddlers in the language acquisition phase. The illustrations are cute and have soft colors. They are also fairly minimal, with just enough elements to be interesting but not overwhelming.

The small amount of text may be a bit intimidating for parents like me, who tend to lack inspiration when reading to their babies. However, there is an "instructions" page at the beginning, which explains how to read interactively to your child in a way that promotes language acquisition. I found it really helpful and the concept actually works really well with less text, which leaves more room for parent-child interactions.

As a first time mother who works full time, I feel like I am always at a loss as to what I should be doing with my kids when I get home at night. Guided books like this, with scientific backing, and easy to follow tips for this book and beyond is so much more helpful than an average children’s book! My sister and I both had speech impediments growing up (I couldn’t say my R’s until 5th grade!) and I worry that my kids will carry that experience as well. So anything produced or supported by speech pathology is an auto-buy for me!

With illustrations that use colors that create a calm feeling we follow Kitty through the day.The author uses simple text that my child loves to repeat and read along with the story. Your family will love it too.
