Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter | One More Chapter for this arc in exchange for an honest review
The blurb of this book was short and interesting. The beginning of the book started off very slow with us getting to know Beth and Joe then in part 2 we started into the investigation of the crime. While this part was fast paced I found there to be gaps that didn't make sense to me. There were some twists that I did enjoy however I felt that the ending was rushed and didn't wrap every thing up. Over a solid 3 stars.
I will be checking out more books by Noelle Holten.

I have pretty high expectations for the thrillers I read - I want to be shocked by the plot twists. But I easily guessed who the villain was and was right. I will admit, I was hooked early on, and in the first half I was unsure of what/who to believe, but it became quite obvious near the end. The ending itself was soo abrupt and not at all surprising. Also, the way the timeline is set up is very unorganized, but that's just a small complaint in the grand scheme of things. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

This book was really good. I had no idea where it was leading me but i couldn't put it down. I read it in less than 24 hours. I did drop it a star because the characters to me felt older than 34, i kept thinking they were n their 50s or 60s and had to keep reminding myself they were my age. But overall it was great.

I really enjoyed this book by Noelle Holten. Set over 2 parts it builds up well into a really good ending. I did figure out the end but not early enough to spoil it.

His Truth Her Truth is a domestic thriller that skirts around being a true "thriller". While this was an interesting premise, I had a hard time following the storyline. Time and perspective jumped often and the pace was somewhat off - both slow and rapid. I personally was not a fan of the neat little bow that concluded the storyline, however, I think I am in the minority.
While this book may not have been for me, I admire that the author was able to construct a complex web of characters and had me really questioning what could be trusted. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book. There were a few times I thought I figured it out, nope! I enjoyed the back and forth with the characters, there were some big surprises. I was a bit disappointed with the ending,. I thought it would be a bit more shocking. Lol

I’ve rounded up to 4 stars might be more of a 3.5. In part 1 of the book we get to know Beth and Joe. Beth grieving fiercely for her father’s death sends her into self destruction mode. Part 1 is very slow build, maybe a bit too slow. Part 2 dives into the investigation and the whole who done it. It wasn’t necessarily predictable but yet it became very clear towards the end. Writing was good, chapters short, a solid read and would read more from the author.
Thank you NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC and the introduction to a new author for me.

There are two sides to every story and this book had the potential to be a perfect example of a his vs hers stance. Beth and Joe are engaged but after the loss of Beth’s father and the grief that she is experiencing, problems begin to rise to the surface.
The prologue was perfectly gripping - it was short and to the point but whilst pulling you in, making you want to keep reading. This gave me extremely high hopes for what was to come, however I thought the book really dragged on. For over half of the book I felt like the author teased that twists were going to happen but then nothing actually came to light. I had gotten through around 60% before I felt like anything much actually happened and even then it felt somewhat chaotic and rushed, whilst also feeling sort of boring and repetitive.
I found Beth to be an extremely frustrating character and even considering what she was going through, I couldn’t empathise with her due to how frustrating I found her to be.
I had high hopes for this book based on the description but I was very underwhelmed. I try to avoid leaving negative reviews however I felt bored throughout reading this book and even considered DNF’ing it which is something I never do. Thank you NetGalley for my ARC.

Joe and Beth appear to live the good life, they have a home, fulfilling jobs - he heads up a family charity, she's a paralegal. But they are found together covered in blood, moribund, a knife in each of their hands. Beneath the skin Beth had a rackety upbringing with an absent alcoholic mother and still suffer from anxiety and panic attacks; Joe's from a well off family but his charity has money worries. Curiously neither of them is particularly likeable. However its a complex, winding plot with plenty of action - Beth gets knocked out so many times I lost count. In the end its a near perfect crime - but whodunit?

As with most things in life, there are two sides to every story and there certainly is in this publication.
Billed as a psychological thriller, this book promised much but ultimately in my view didn't deliver all I hoped it would and if I'm brutally honest I called the plot after about 60%.
In short a decent enough read, but nothing spectacular.

The idea for the story was good but it wasn't executed very well. The story line itself was fast paced but there were too many gaps and bits that just were just unbelievable.

A good, fast paced story but let down by the writing. There were too many bits that didn't work or make sense and the ending was poor.

Joe and Beth are engaged but have some problems. Beth has some issues with mental health and addiction and Joe is struggling with some bad decisions concerning money. When Beth’ father dies suddenly she spirals down emotionally and only finds comfort in alcohol. But mixing vodka with her meds does not help her. Far the opposite. She gets very paranoid and thinks everybody is after her. Joe tries to be supportive but he has other urgent problems as well. Then one day Beth wakes up in hospital, vaguely remembering Joe and a knife and a lot of blood.
The first half of the book we see Beth getting more and more out of control and Joe getting himself more and more in trouble. After a while Beth really got on my nerves with her paranoia and her unwillingness to face her drinking problem. She therefore is a very unreliable narrator because I never knew if it was all in her head or was there someone after her. I would have also liked to kick Joe because he really did not help Beth when it was clear she could not help herself. And the whole story was running in circles.
In the second half of the book we see Beth getting better mentally after she was attacked (or attacked somebody herself). But she can’t really remember what happened that night. This half was at first a bit better than the first but I saw the twists coming and the end felt very unsatisfying. I still have questions.
This whole book feels like it was written in a hush. Towards the end it gets faster and faster but also blurred in the details. Overall it was an easy and quick read but the characters are all unlikeable and act most of the time very stupid. The abrupt ending and the lack of explaining at least a few things did not work in favor of my rating.

Well, I wasn't expecting that!
Such an emotional, poignant read covering themes of grief, addiction, domestic abuse, deceit and so much more in a 'he said, she said' story that is both twisty and compelling.
The twists are truly surprising and are like a punch to the gut when they hit. The emotional highs and lows of grief, mental ill health and the descent into addiction feel palpably real and really drive the narrative forward and keep the pages turning. Read this one very quickly as I couldn't put it down. 4.5 stars from me!

It opens with the discovery of two bodies, each with a bloody knife in their hand; both just about still breathing. Who tried to kill who? Who is telling the truth when their relationship, which on face value is perfect, is anything but?
I like dual-point-of-view books, and with this one flipping between the viewpoints of engaged couple, Joe and Beth (the knife holders) showing each of them spiralling made for a very enjoyable read. The shortish chapters offer the reader the chance of an emotional break which may be needed, given some of the content (mental health, alcoholism, dysfunctional families, etc.). I think I sympathised with each of their situations, rather than actually liking them as people.
If you like psychological thrillers, this one is for you, especially as the author’s previous experience and research enable her to tackle difficult subjects with empathy. A trigger warning may be needed for some readers.
Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, and One More Chapter for the eARC.

Summary: Joe and Beth are a seemingly perfect couple. Seemingly is the key word. Underneath the surface, Joe is hiding a big secret. Beth is struggling after losing her father and turning back to the bottle. The police get called to the home one night. Why are both Joe and Beth lying near death and both holding knives?
The book is divided into parts, some flashbacks as we find out more about their relationship. It is told in alternating POVs. It is clear that someone isn't telling the truth about what is happening.
Review: I'm torn over this one. Don't get me wrong. The book has a good hook. There are parts that are compulsively readable, but the two main characters are not very likable. Beth is so annoying and makes so many terrible decisions in this book. Joe isn't much better. Some of the other supporting characters are also tiresome. I definitely had to read to the end to figure things out. I was able to guess the twists ahead of time, which is validating and disappointing at the same time. The ending felt abrupt, and I would've liked a little more to tie up loose ends.
Rating: 3 stars
A big thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for providing this ARC for me to review.

I found this to be ok.
The chapters were short, some only being a page or so but the story was so quick, it seemed fast forward to weeks later at a time. The storyline was interesting, although a bit far fetched at times and I did think that the ending was a let down, with other things not really being wrapped up properly for me.
Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. I was confused alot in this one, I had a hard time following what was going on. Not for me

Joe and his fiancé Beth are both lying on the kitchen floor, bloody and with a knife in their hand. This intriguing opening caught me attention and held it for about 3/4 of the book. The tangled web that is their relationship is slowly taken apart and we learn that each has their own secrets, and issues. Beth has a drinking problem, but denies it, Joe has made some irresponsible financial decisions. But how did it come to this end? A good story, well written, just a bit too lengthy.

Beth and Joe are engaged. Beth’s father has died, and she is struggling. The only solace she has is in a bottle. While Joe is always at work in meetings. Due to the charity, he is involved in is in real trouble. Beth thinks Joe doesn’t care and knows that Joe is hiding something. Which makes her feels work and carries on drinking so much that she but her own career as a paralegal in trouble. She also must deal with some threatening letters and phone calls. But when she tells Joe what’s going on. He can’t find any evidence of it. With the relationship in turmoil the pair are engaged in a fight. They both wake up in hospital, but Joe is in a coma. Did she do this or is there someone else out there responsible. But Police make her the number one suspect.
It’s been a while since the authors last book, so I was excited to receive Noelle Holten’s latest novel ‘His truth, Her truth’. I was so intrigued by the blurb. So, I couldn’t wait to start this.
Unfortunately, for me personally this book didn’t work for me I found this rather slow, and I felt that this story was really drawn out. I also thought that the details of their relationship and Beth’s excessive drinking was on repeat for the first half of the book. it only got interesting at the last quarter of the book. 3 stars from me
