Talk about two sides to every story! This novel is mind-bending in its deviousness! In the prologue we see Joe standing over his dead. wife, Beth on the kitchen floor. Then we go back in time to Joe as he runs Tasker house, a charity that helps those in need. Beth is going to visit her elderly father as her mother was a drunk and never around so Beth is his only support system. She is a paralegal and she drinks often as well since her job is stressful. Threatening letters, complaints, secret meetings, money issues, and everything one could imagine keeps this book from letting you go once you begin! Kept me up long into the night!

Beth's fall into addiction feels truly authentic and one can't help but feel sorry for her as she spirals into her grief.

Joe appears supportive but he's getting tired of the drama and has dark secrets of his own.

Both characters are fully realistic and draw empathy from the reader but which one is telling the truth?

The narrative is perfectly paced and the intelligent plotting keeps the reader on edge unsure who to believe.

Emotional, poignant and exciting this book is perfect for fans of psychological thrillers.

Wow, Noelle Holten knocks another one clean out of the park! I look so forward to her books and am always impressed that they only get better and better. This was dark and gritty with a little beacon of hope shining through. A big roller coaster ride that was so scary I had to close my eyes a few times. A great cast of characters kept me hooked from beginning to end. Don’t let this one pass you by! Big 5 stars from me.
