His truth, Her Truth by Noelle Holten is a psychological thriller, with a twist at the end. Two bodies are found as a result of a home invasion, only discovered after an anonymous call. The couple were thought to be happy together, so who would attack them in their own home?
Unfortunately both Joe and Beth have kept secrets from each other and everyone else they know. Neither of them are particularly likeable characters but do they deserve to die?
An interesting idea.

Gladstone Village is a quintessentially English picture perfect place to live, except, this night its peace is disrupted by violent events at the rustic charm of a semi detached property. What happens between Joe Trasker and Beth Stanford? His truth or her truth? Settle back, tune in or observe carefully as they tell it their way.
This is a bit of a ‘ game of two halves’ for me. I like the alternating points of view which adds to the confusion and difficulty of sifting through the maelstrom of each life. The tone is dark, there are a ton of lies, deception and a great deal of self delusion so it’s hard to know who to believe which keeps me engaged. Neither character is especially likeable, Beth is chock full of issues, many of which are not her fault, but she doesn’t help herself as much as she should. At times her behaviour is definitely very questionable. Joe is very detached, so as a couple it’s an odd pairing as they’re poles apart which is quite intriguing and it’s obvious that there’s much more going on than meets the eye.
I find the first half much more compelling than the second. The story line begins to drag in my opinion and becomes too drawn out. There are plenty of twists but maybe here there’s too many (?) and I work out who is behind the dramatic events without too much difficulty. Some of the events are a bit of a stretch, but hey, it is fiction. Some of the characterisation doesn’t feel authentic. This is particularly true of the police officers involved and some of the dialogue doesn’t ring true either.
Overall, it’s not a bad read by any means but it doesn’t wow me.
With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Harper Collins, One More Chapter for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Another brilliant psychological thriller - I love how Noelle's books are getting darker and darker, making for brutal reading at times.
In His Truth Her Truth a classic psychological thriller plays out with the reader having no idea who can be trusted as the story unfolds. My views changed with each chapter and it wasn't helped by both lead characters appearing to be jolly decent folk with honourable jobs.
I enjoyed the narrative around each of them but found Beth hugely frustrating!
I raced through this book, in fact I think I galloped through the first half! I had no handle on what was coming next and found myself doubting all the wrong people. Or did I? Psychological thrillers mess with my mind and I find myself questioning everything and everyone and Noelle is the queen of tricky plot points and mis-direction.

A very slow burn whilst being an enjoyable read throughout.
The tension builds well, although I did think it could have been a little shorter but nonetheless a well thought out and exectued thriller.

I found the first half of the book very slow and almost gave up on it but then the pace picked up quickly and I guess that might have been deliberate on the author who was slowly building the tension, none of the characters were particularly appealing but again that added to the storyline and what a great ending. I have read all the author’s other books and I did after a while enjoy the change in her writing style.

Reading the synopsis of this one, I was really looking forward to it however it didn't fully work for me.
I think the story started out well however it all became a bit too rushed. Like it was too eager to be a page-turner that it missed out on being more of a domestic thriller which I think would have worked better.
I will look out for more from this author though

Beth’s father has passed away, and she’s furious that her fiancé, Joe, wasn’t there to comfort her. With his pressing business commitments, he still can’t come home to her. Beth finds solace in a bottle, and this is where the story begins in the first chapter.
However, the eye-opening prologue actually sets the stage for this thrilling tale of lies and deception. Joe and Beth lie there, each on the brink of death, seemingly at the hands of the other. Which story is true? Beth’s dependence on alcohol or that riveting opening scene in the prologue? Noelle Holten masterfully guides readers to the consequences of both situations.
Meanwhile, Joe and Beth’s household is crumbling. They were engaged, but their relationship spiraled out of control. Lies from both sides expose the extent of their disconnection. As the saying goes, there are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth. In this twisty novel, whose truth will we believe?
Beth and Joe are a couple with hidden truths, and neither is alone in their struggles. As the adage goes, “write what you know,” and Holten’s brilliant writing is a testament to this principle. She skillfully weaves a fictional narrative that captivates readers, drawing them into her world and refusing to let go until the very end. That final twist had my head spinning.
Many thanks to One More Chapter and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

The story flowed well and the characters were well developed. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.

His Truth, Her Truth by Noelle Holten is an absolutely stunning psychological thriller that had me hooked from the very first page. This book is an expertly crafted, fast-paced exploration of deception, manipulation, and the blurred lines between truth and lies. Holten’s writing is sharp, immersive, and full of tension, keeping readers on edge throughout the entire novel.
The story alternates between the perspectives of two central characters—each with their own version of events—which adds a layer of complexity and intrigue. Holten does a masterful job of building suspense, revealing just enough to keep you guessing, but never too much. The emotional stakes are high, and the more you learn about the characters, the more you’re drawn into their tangled lives. It’s a brilliant exploration of how our perceptions of truth can be shaped and distorted.
The twists in His Truth, Her Truth are absolutely mind-blowing. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Holten threw in a revelation that left me gasping. The pacing is perfect, with each chapter ramping up the tension, leading to a heart-pounding, unforgettable finale. The characters are complex and flawed, making them both relatable and chilling at the same time.
This book is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers—it's compelling, unpredictable, and full of heart-stopping twists. Noelle Holten has delivered a top-tier thriller that will keep you up long into the night, and I can’t recommend it enough. Five stars without a doubt!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
3.5 stars.
His Truth Her Truth is a twisty thriller about a couple found in their home, each holding a knife and both barely clinging on to life.
The story then goes back to how this even unfolded, starting with Beth's father dying, her and her fiance Joe's relationship breaking down and many events unfolding that leave you not knowing who or what to believe or who to trust. I thought the final twist at the end was very clever, but the book dragged on a little too much for me in the first 60%, then gets very interesting. I found it very hard to warm to Beth and Joe and found them both quite selfish. Each chapter is short, making it easy to fly through, but I did feel the author had dragged out the first 50% of the book before the plot really got going. Be prepared to plow through that first half of the book as the rest is definitely worth it.

Is it him or her who's telling the truth
Could not put this downtime book is completely gripping
Did not see the ending coming though
Noelle Horton, Harper Collins UK, one more chapter and netgalley

Beth and Joe plan to get married. Their relationship seems strong, until a death sends Beth to a very dark place. Oh, and Joe isn’t as attentive as you would expect a loving fiancé to be. Secrets are piling up around him and he cannot afford to take his eye off the foundation he runs.
I went back-and-forth between feeling sympathy for both of these characters and despising every bad decision that each of them made. Of course, all the while I was trying to figure out what exactly was going on. I had my suspicions, but I did not understand the whole picture until the author reveal. A story that kept me guessing and furiously flipping pages. I stayed up way too late so that I could finish His Truth, Her Truth😁

A gripping thriller full of twists and misdirection that will leave you breathless.
Beth's fall into addiction feels truly authentic and one can't help but feel sorry for her as she spirals into her grief.
Joe appears supportive but he's getting tired of the drama and has dark secrets of his own.
Both characters are fully realistic and draw empathy from the reader but which one is telling the truth?
The narrative is perfectly paced and the intelligent plotting keeps the reader on edge unsure who to believe.
Emotional, poignant and exciting this book is perfect for fans of psychological thrillers.

His Truth Her Truth by Noelle Holten, published by Harper Collins/ One More Chapter is a raw and gritty story and deals with sensitive subjects.
Joe and Beth are a couple, about to get married soon, but there is more behind their facade as it seems.
A twisty thriller with turns that I never saw coming. All in all a good story, sometimes a bit lengthy- sorry not sorry no spoilers here.

Talk about two sides to every story! This novel is mind-bending in its deviousness! In the prologue we see Joe standing over his dead. wife, Beth on the kitchen floor. Then we go back in time to Joe as he runs Tasker house, a charity that helps those in need. Beth is going to visit her elderly father as her mother was a drunk and never around so Beth is his only support system. She is a paralegal and she drinks often as well since her job is stressful. Threatening letters, complaints, secret meetings, money issues, and everything one could imagine keeps this book from letting you go once you begin! Kept me up long into the night!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

An interesting read and an interesting introduction to this author. Unfortunately I guessed quite early on who the culprit was, despite the misdirection which left me a little disappointed. Will certainly read more from the author though.
