OMG! Utterly convincing, hugely tense and completely compelling – this book left me breathless! The story flips between the two main characters, Beth and Joe, taking you deep inside their thoughts, leaving you desperate to know what will happen next. The creeping sense of unease builds as you wrestle with part-truths, secrets and biased impressions. And then, finally, all is revealed! A rollercoaster, up-all-night book! I loved it!

Joe and Beth are found close to death in their apartment. Rewind weeks and their story plays out from both of their POVS.

I really liked the premise of this one and was excited to give it a go. However, I felt a bit disappointed with the story. I found both Beth and Joe to be unlikable. The chapters are short, so that did keep me reading, but I wanted so much more from the story. The twist at the end was interesting.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy!

Well good golly Ms Molly! What a whirlwind of lies, deceit and a little bit of truth all mixed in – but who’s truth!
This novel opens with a punch, lulling you into a false sense of security with the quintessentially English village being described before smacking you bang in the middle of the eyes with a bloody tableau!
Joe and Beth, aren’t they just the perfect couple, until they are not, our first introduction to them (and this isn’t a spoiler!) is their bloodied bodies lying on the kitchen floor. Initially police think it’s a burglary gone horribly wrong until they see the knives – one in each of their hands!
We are then taken back in time to the lead up to the incident and that’s when it starts to get juicy! It’s not long before you realise that Joe and Beth are not as perfect as they might seem, that both their lives and filled to the brim with secrets. This makes them both deliciously unreliable narrators and that, in my book, makes for a deviously dark read.
There are a few poignant moments around the death of Beth’s father that made my heart ache for her, but that empathy didn’t always last very long. I swung between wanting to hug her and wanting to punch her in the face. I think I mostly felt sorry for her though. With a bit of a dysfunctional back story and a cast of characters surrounding her, who were not always acting in her best interests, it was difficult not to feel for her. And Joe, well Joe had a few secrets of his own, the man behind the charity he runs was not always as squeaky clean as you might first think.
I loved how Noelle Holten uses her own experience of multi-agency working, her knowledge shines through. I did spot a character from her previous series and it made me smile to see her again. It’s great to see the third sector and the pressures faced in the sector being addressed in fiction, so this ticked my boxes for authenticity.
As the story unravels, I found myself trusting no one and doubting everyone. The twists and turns in the short pacy chapters kept the tension tightening right until the very end.
It’s perfectly paced, it’s deviously dark and it’s seriously sinister! It’s a belter!

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc.

There will be a few spoilers ahead so read with caution.
Let start with the pros: this book was quickly paced and descriptive of Beth’s struggles which made you feel like you could better understand someone in her situation and dealing with her demons.
The his & hers narrative was interesting to see from both sides of the same story while it lasted.

And now for the cons:
It felt disjointed, far-fetched and almost as if I was reading two separate books after the 3/4 mark. The ending felt tacked on and the plot felt forced towards the end. There were constants hints about Beth’s “secret” or “pretending” during her drinking phase but they never get circled around to.
Too many people get killed off, unrealistically, too fast and the motives just don’t feel fully convincing

Well, they can’t all be winners- I’ve given it a 3 because I was able to read it in 72 hours thanks to the quick pacing, but it just didn’t hit the spot for me

There's always three sides to every story. His side. Her side. And the truth. What a twist and turn loaded story.

I did like the premise of this book, and I thought the opening chapter/prologue was really good! But I found it rather slow, by 25% nothing was really happening. Didn't like either character.

All the narrators and characters are unreliable which leads to a very intriguing story! As the story progresses, the reader isn't quite sure who is gaslighting who and who to trust. Quite dark at times, this is a well written, enjoyable domestic/psychological thriller which I would certainly recommend.

The story starts off with Beth and Joe being found in their home where it is obvious some sort of altercation has happened which instantly raises questions in the readers mind. We are then taken back in alternating chapters between the couple in the run up to the event.

Beth is an unreliable narrator. At times I wasn’t sure if what was happening to her was real or all in her head so it kept me guessing and had me constantly changing my mind. Joe was another one who I kept changing my mind about. He really does seem to have Beth’s interests at heart but he is clearly keeping secrets also and it made for a riveting read.

This is one of those stories where you don’t know who to trust. Some characters appear to have alterior motives and even the police aren’t the most understanding which leaves Beth feeling that she has nowhere to turn. There are some highly unlikeable characters in the story that make you root for Beth. It had me eager to find out the truth as well as the actual events of the night they are found.

His Truth Her Truth is a thrilling roller coaster of a read. It kept me guessing right up until the end and even then there are more surprises in store! The tension keeps ramping up with every page turned and when the twists start, holy moly I was gripping onto my Kindle for dear life. Noelle Holten is an author who commands attention in her novels and I am loving the change from crime thrillers to psychological thrillers. She seriously knows how to mess with her readers minds. Chilling and thrilling in equal measure, a stand out 5 star read for me!

This was a pretty solid thriller, with a mystery full of twists and turns, but the writing was not my favorite and I ended up feeling very disconnected from the story. I would still overall recommend this because there were some turns of the plot that made me feel shocked. All in all, it was fine

The main character, Beth, is a hot mess. She is grieving the death of her father and chooses self-sabotage as her coping mechanism.
In the wake of Beth’s destruction, her fiancé Joe adds to the chaos that is now their life. He’s a spineless, shady, unreliable “business man” who claims to run a nonprofit to help DV victims.
This is a looonnggg drawn out ride that takes you… nowhere.
I found the ending to be predictable and unsatisfying.

The story opens with both Beth and her partner Joe lying sprawled out on the kitchen floor , covered in blood, and both with a knife in their hand. We are then led on a twisty journey to find out who stabbed who, and why. This was a rollercoaster of a read, the dual POV, unreliable narration, short chapters, fast pace and the twists that kept coming made it an unputdownable read. As an ex Senior Probation Officer, Noelle knows her stuff and it shows. It was hard to know who to believe in His Truth, Her Truth and just when I thought I’d got it, it turns out that I hadn’t. Definitely a five star from me.

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for an early copy of His Truth, Her Truth. What drew me in was the cover, its great and then I saw who wrote it and I was excited because I knew Noelle's name from Bookouture. The first part of the book was very slow and I disliked Beth very much. She was very annoying and through Part II, she became a changed person. I still don't know why Beth and Joe were together, there was Never any romance between them. The small chapters were the BEST, I LOVE reading when they are like that. This was a definite cat and mouse game, which was Awesome!!! I kind of figured out the end but I wasn't sure so it wrapped up real nicely. Great Book!!!
Thank you again.

For me, it's very important to feel something towards the characters. It can be either a good connection where you feel like supporting them or feel bad for them even when it's for a baddie. On the other hand it can be you dislike them and hope they get everything they deserve.

In this book I did not like any of the characters. Beth is someone who feel very sorry for herself and expects everybody to drop everything to stand by her. She does not do anything to help herself or to understand those around her. Joe is also very self centered and he puts himself and his work before supporting his girlfriend. I do see his point up to a certain level though. Whatever he does or says, it's never enough. Would you not give up in the end?

In the beginning I found the story a bit too slow paced, but the more we dived deeper into it, the more it became intriguing and confusing. Who to believe and who to trust? It was like there was a heavy fog that was lifted little by little so shine a spotlight on the culprit.

If you like lots of lies and deceit, this is a book for you.

Good twists that kept me guessing until the end. 4 stars

Thank you

Domestic thrillers are my favorite! I was really looking forward to this arc.

I liked the cover.

The book is definitely more slow paced, I think it strayed from being a true domestic thriller. I found many errors.

Thanks Netgalley for the free ARC! I liked this book; it was entertaining. I appreciated the author’s descriptions of the scenery; it made it sound idyllic. I was engaged in the storyline and it was very interesting. I don’t want to include spoilers so I won’t be specific, but there were at least two instances that could not have happened and made it unbelievable. I do recommend this book.

Wow I devoured this book in a day! From the beginning to end I was kept in suspense and shock. I really didn't see any of it coming. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!

This book several themes such a drug/ alcohol abuse and domestic violence to name a few. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and now I’m a fan!

The two characters Beth and Joe at times I didn’t know who to trust as secrets and lies were second nature to both of them.

I’d highly recommend this book and oh lets just say... THAT ending!... 5 stars from me!

This book is at times deeply disturbing and essentially a he says/ she says thriller with two characters sharing the narration outlining their pasts and their tumultuous relationship.

I struggled with the first half of the book and wasn’t sure where it was going, the pace seemed slow and I didn’t warm to either character. The second half was more enjoyable and the pace seemed to be mounting and there were plenty of twists and turns, some of which I didn’t really understand in the context of the story.

The book features a few difficult topics, which may be triggering including domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse among them.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've read everything that Noelle Holten has written before and I've loved all her work, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to read and review His Truth Her Truth. As with her other novels, Noelle Holten uses her extensive knowledge of the justice system and experience of working with vulnerable people to create a really engaging and twisty story.

The central characters of His Truth Her Truth are Joe and Beth. The chapters are written alternately from both their perspectives. This gives the reader the chance to see what happened from both sides of the story, and this helps to build the sense of secrecy, uncertainty and manipulation. I had no idea which characters were telling the truth, who to trust or what had happened and I simply had to keep reading to find out!

Noelle Holten's writing is incredibly fast paced and the chapters are short, which makes the novel very difficult to put down! The plot is very clever and well constructed and I loved how it kept me on my toes. I thought I had everything worked out but I was very wrong and there were some revelations that made my jaw drop!

This author goes from strength to strength and I can't wait to see what she does next!

Absolutely spellbinding! I loved this excellent psychological thriller. The narrative is told in short snappy chapters, from two viewpoints Joe and Beth, who are desperate characters each with their own agenda. I thought it absorbing and gripping with lots of drama and surprises. I loved the intrigue building up to the final conclusion. Highly recommended.
