Very usefull! I would probably be in the unknown without this on NetGalley. I think this title should be give to new user and be use as introduction to the website.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the Book Advocate Toolkit! As a Bookstagrammer, it’s incredibly helpful to have clear tips and resources that make it easier to promote books thoughtfully and effectively. The guidance on writing reviews, sharing on social media, and being a supportive part of the book community really resonated with me.
It’s clear that a lot of care went into creating something that helps readers feel confident and creative in their advocacy—and I’m already putting some of it into practice. Thank you for making this available and for supporting reviewers like me!

Really helpful!! I have just started tryimg to read ARC seriously so this is really helpful and gives me ideas on things to do, things to not do. So helpful and thanks for creating it!

Really helpful for anyone new to the site, such as myself. It’s formatted very nicely and covers a good range of topics for book reviewing and the general usage of NetGalley!

This was a great beginner’s guide to the NetGalley platform! With only being 31 pages, it’s very succinct and delivers helpful tips in a direct way. As someone who only started using NetGalley this year I’m always looking to learn more and this guide definitely gave me a few more pointers, along with some more useful information to get the best experience here.

This is extremely informative. Everything NetGalley has put out has been so fantastic. I know it will help me be a better advocate.

super informative and helpful to old and new NetGalley users. will definitely help on our collective journey as readers and reviewers.

A great resource for all NetGalley users! The toolkit is very thoughtfully laid out and packed with information, details and best practices to help us become the best book advocates we can be. Especially love the section on crafting reviews. Thank you!

Really useful for getting started on NetGalley and I'm sure I'll be referring back to it plenty! Thank you We Are Bookish team for providing this guide.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a guide to a newcomer in the review world! This was very helpful to get started.

This is a clear, user-friendly resource for anyone looking to improve how they share and review books. It’s full of tips on building your platform and connecting with other readers without feeling overwhelming.

Helpful for getting started and figuring out how to boost my acceptance rate for previewing books. I have been using NetGalley for awhile, but am wanting to boost my review writing to get approved for books from more popular publishers. I am looking forward to putting these tips in action.

What a wonderfully organized guide! I loved that the table of contents + home icon were all hyperlinked for easy info access. Even though I've been reviewing books on Netgalley for over a year, there were several helpful new learnings!
1. I didn't realize you can withdraw requests! (Obvi we have all been there after going through a delulu late night request spree...)
2. Publishers can feature your reviews – and there's a handy icon that will tell you when yours is chosen!
3. There's a feature for organizing the titles on your shelf by pub date.
This was also helpful for refreshing about the strategy for reviews: i.e. who is reading them on the pub side, which elements to make sure you cover considering formats, and even how to handle critical reviews.
Huge thank you to the We Are Bookish team for this guide!

This is a quick, easy to read toolkit that provides basic information for new members of NetGalley. It contains some useful links to blog posts on We Are Bookish, NetGalley's editorial blog, to further explain some things that are discussed in the toolkit itself. It's presented in a visually appealing manner. I wish it had been easier to find this when I was first getting started on NetGalley, but I appreciate that I found it now.

Thanks so much for providing this freebie! It is very helpful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Book Review: NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit
The Book Advocate Toolkit is exactly what it promises: a compact but comprehensive resource for both new and seasoned NetGalley users looking to improve their presence and effectiveness on the platform.
What sets this toolkit apart is its clarity. Rather than being overwhelming or overly technical, it breaks down key areas of NetGalley usage into approachable segments such as building a standout Profile, maintaining a strong Feedback Ratio, and writing meaningful, fair reviews. These are things many readers and reviewers may have picked up piecemeal through experience; here, they are thoughtfully organized and easy to act on.
The section on writing reviews is especially helpful. It tackles common reviewer dilemmas (like how to give constructive feedback on a book you did not love) with encouraging advice. The emphasis on authenticity, balance, and professionalism is a good reminder even for longtime members.
I would not call the content groundbreaking, but that is not really the point—it is more of a field guide than a masterclass, and it is all the better for it. It meets readers where they are and offers simple ways to engage more intentionally with books and authors.
A useful, no frills resource for any book advocate hoping to contribute more confidently and consistently to the literary community.

This toolkit was very helpful to get me started on my NetGalley book advocacy journey. In addition to basic information like how to request and review books, I learned some next level tips like how to favorite publishers, see what the publisher requirements are and how to write effective reviews. I will be referring back to this toolkit in the future.

This toolkit was helpful in learning more about Netgalley and the best ways to use it. I was able to gain better information on what to include in my bio. I liked that there was examples.

Such a great tool to have. I haven't been using NetGalley for quite a while and found help in this book I didn't realise I needed! Thank you!

I wish all brands would put together an advocate toolkit for both loyalists and users. This workbook-style book provided me with the clarity I needed to refine my profile to better appeal to the book publishers I am targeting via NetGalley. However, the examples provided in this book are likely to work for most reviewing websites. It's that good! The biggest takeaway for me is finally letting go of the notion that I had to review every single book. Yes, "DNF'ing" a book for a completionist is not always fun, but it does an author a disservice to review a book when, early on, you are not that into it. Thank you so much to the We Are Bookish team for making that point clear to the bookish community.
