There are some weird issues with the text in some places where it sort of smushes into itself or doubles up strangely. It's still mostly readable, but it's distracting and incorrect. The blue sticky note on the Feedback Ratio page and the Focus On Book Reviews page are examples of this. I'm viewing the PDF in Firefox browser for reference.

It would be useful to note how withdrawing a request or DNFing a book impacts your review ratio since this is so important. A page specifically with things NOT to do is a good idea as well to cover all the common mistakes / issues people make in one place. Examples: downloading/requesting too many books at once, not downloading a book before it's archived, not checking that you're able to read the format given, etc.

The NetGalley shelf app page should definitely have info on the expiration time when you read in there. When you start a book in the Shelf app, you only have 60 days to read it or something like that before access is gone and how to renew that. This feels like a really important note especially if a book is far in the future and you want to be able to go back to it closer to the time of publication to refresh your memory for a review, follow up post, etc and then suddenly it's gone with all the notes you may have added.

I've been on NetGalley for several years and have read a lot of the FAQ and helpdesk guide info about it so this was pretty much all familiar. This is probably a really solid resource for people just starting though, as it gives the basics of using NetGalley and what's needed for each book you download.

Man, I wish this was available when I first started but I still learned new things I will be using to improve my profile (and hopefully, my approval frequency!). I think anyone utilizing NetGalley can benefit from going through this toolkit as well as the included links. You can learn how to use the site if you are unfamiliar as well as what should and should not be in your profile. I found the link to an article discussing what she looks for when making approvals extremely helpful! Thank you NetGalley!

Another helpful resource for reviewers! As someone relatively new to NetGalley there was a lot of good information in here, particularly on improving your profile and writing more effective reviews. I'd especially recommend it to people just getting started!

Super useful guide that I wish I had had access to when I first signed up to NetGalley as it would have been so much help for when I was just starting out. Even after being on this platform for a while, it had a lot of useful information which I will keep in mind and implement for my profile.

I greatly enjoyed this updated Book Advocate Toolkit. I particularly liked the reminder that I can view the publishers' approval preferences, which is something I had forgotten after all the years I've been a NetGalley Reviewer. I also learned something I hadn't been aware of before reading the new Book Advocate Toolkit: the ability to withdraw requests made in error. I liked the book review tips, and I'm looking forward to the NetGalley Social Media Toolkit.

Not only the toolkit has an overview of NetGalley, but it also provides useful information for writing reviews on all major social media platforms. It gathers everything you need to know in one place to get started. As always We Are Bookish's resources are very helpful!

This was a really helpful read. As someone who has been using Netgalley for some years now, it gave me some helpful hints that enabled me to refresh my profile but also taught me that I can look at publishers approval requirements, something I wasn’t previously aware of.

If you’re interested in getting ARCs (advanced reader copies) of books I highly recommend this book. To access this book you will need to create a NetGalley account (which you need to do anyways to get the ARCs) - setting up an account is easy to do, but this guide highlights the ways to get the most out of your account set up as well as other tips to get approvals from publishers.

After getting a rejection on an ARC I wanted to learn more about what I could do to increase my odds of approvals. I found a lot of helpful tips in this quick 31 page guide on how to get approvals but also how to get the most of out NetGalley in general.

Definitely check this book out if you’re interested in getting ARCs successfully!

No more looking around or guessing - this tells you exactly what you need to know and tips for being the best book advocate you can be!

Thank you NetGalley for this helpful guide to navigating the site! I love the graphics and layout of this toolkit. I look forward to checking out the Social Media Toolkit that’s coming soon too!
