This 31 page guide was incredibly helpful for a newbie getting into ARCs. Also, it's so pretty haha, it's not just white pages with black text, the visuals are easy on the eyes 😏
As advertised, I cannot recommend this enough for anyone new to NetGalley or those needing to improve their approval requessts.
I appreciate this well-written guide to Netgalley. It helped me improve my profile and gave me some extra tips to improve my reviews. As a new reviewer on Netgalley, I appreciated all the tips on having better chances of being approved and navigating the website.
This “Book Advocate Toolkit” is a great resource for new and old members alike! Whether it be to learn what NetGalley is all about, what the expectations are, or how to navigate the website, there is a lot of information that can teach or refresh you on the content. Personally, I appreciate that it gave me guidance on the best formatting of reviews and how to effectively establish a portfolio and portrays who you are as a reader and reviewer. This resource is worth at least checking out.
A NetGalley book toolkit to help you develop informative and outstanding reviews for book trade professionals, booksellers, educators and librarians.
The Book Advocate Toolkit is informative, easy to understand and read. It’s concise, to the point and laid out to increase your knowledge in writing a review the best that you can.
Extremely helpful toolkit, perfect for anyone just getting started on NetGalley or any older member looking for a refresher of various options. This is very cleverly designed, taking the book advocate through the various steps, from joining NetGalley to submitting reviews. I particularly appreciated the clarity on DNFing books and the use of the "will not give feedback option", which wasn't wholly clear to me.
Thank you NetGalley!
If you are a new, or seasoned, NetGalley reviewer this is an amazing guide to help you succeed on the platform!
I love these NetGalley guides and think that they are such a unique and helpful feature that We Are Bookish, NetGalley's own 'blog', come out with. I am intrigued to see that they will be expanded their guides with a new guide for social media and look forward for that to come out. I appreciate that there is also space for seasoned reviewers to get a few tips to help make their reviews more constructive. Having hyperlinks to other articals was an incredible way to still provide all of the information without taking up space on the document itself. This helped make it a quick guide that was easy to navigated.
Always recommend NetGalley guides!
This is probably the most helpful toolkit yet. I love all this info is in one pdf and presented in an easy to view way. This will really help me out with my reviews going forward
I absolutely loved this toolkit.
I’ve been a member of NetGalley for years and I have found with this to get some of the information I knew, and some just enhanced everything I thought I knew.
The book was easy to read, beautifully laid out and so helpful
This is a very clear & precise toolkit, I only started using NG in January so there was still a lot I didn’t know.
I think this is going to be a great refresher for members and I can’t wait for the social media toolkit!
Thanks for creating this guide! I appreciated graphics and that the file loaded quickly. A good variety of tips about how to write good reviews & increase chances of getting approved.
Having been on NetGalley for almost 10 years, I knew most of the information included in the guide. However, I did enjoy reading the approval and review sections. They were good reminders.
I already knew a lot of the information, but I especially liked the quick references for how to write good reviews.
I look forward to the social media section being added.
Thank you for this insightful handbook. It’s given food for thought on how to update my profile and how to rethink my approach to handling my reviewing process. I appreciate all of these nifty handbooks you make and they’re really helpful as a reviewer. It makes me want to do better at this and I started doing reviews simply as a way to fill in time I had on my hands. Being fair to the writers is important to me and being presentable is just as important. Thank you, again, for this.
What a great resource! This is always helpful to look at to help with approvals and writing reviews. I am looking forward to the social media toolkit!
This was a very informative toolkit. NetGalley can be a little overwhelming to the uninitiated because there is such a multitude of information right at your fingertips. This does a good job of presenting anything that might be relevant for someone getting started, and as someone who learned to navigate the platform without any help from friends or peers I found it to be very helpful in clarifying some small questions I'd had running in the back of my mind.
I really enjoyed this revised version of the NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit. It’s a great resource for NetGalley users. It’s definitely targeted more towards new users, but seasoned users like me can find lots of value in this resource as well. I really enjoyed the tips for a good bio & good book review. And I’m very excited for the upcoming social media toolkit! Thanks NetGalley for providing us with a comprehensive guide to the site!
Lots of great advice for keeping my account current, updated and appealing to publishers. Would recommend for new reviewers and wish I had found it earlier in my journey
If you're new to Netgalley, I highly recommend you read this!!!! I think it's such a user friendly and easy to understand quick guide.
This is a wonderful Publication for anyone new to NetGalley or someone who wants more information. I enjoyed the Refresher course on how to use the site. I recommended to anyone interested in NetGalley.
This is an excellent guide to creating/updating your profile on NetGalley, requesting ARCs, and sharing reviews. I've already learned a few things to better polish my profile!
