I truly didn't know much about NetGalley, even after I decided to join, but going over this book advocate toolkit really helped me, like IMMENSELY! Although it does stink whenever a publisher decides not to approve my request, reading why they may not approve it makes more sense. I also know that having a higher feedback ratio helps as well, which I know I can be better at myself. I love how I can read either on my phone or my ipad, depending on what device I feel like using that day. I love the tips, tricks and tools sheet as well!
Netgalley provides helpful tips to get started! I think it’s a great guide for those getting started with netgalley. I definitely didn’t realize that as soon as you get approved your ratio is affected.
This looks the same or possibly just edited of the last Book Advocate Toolkit I downloaded. I do love this being reposted for more readers to find! Attached here is my previous review as it still stands: Thank you We Are Bookish for sharing this toolkit! some very helpful tips I wish I learned earlier on such as to avoid spree requesting! the tips for starting Bookstagram and Booktoks were interesting and insightful and if I do go forward with making a bookstagram/booktok for myself I will take these tips into consideration! Going forward I till definitely be making spoiler free reading threads on twitter while reading these arcs! that is something I wasn't aware I was allowed to do (of course unless it's meantioned not to by the publishers!)
This is wonderful resource for anyone who wants to better understand the basics of NetGalley. It is definitely something I will keep handy when I get into a review slump or when I need to spruce up my profile. I am so grateful for the ability to share these reviews with friends, online through social media, and through review sties like Goodreads. Thank you NetGalley for providing this free resource for users to better understand your site and become the best advocates for upcoming books and budding authors!
This toolkit gives an overview of Netgalley and a ton of information on how to make the most of the experience. I particularly liked how it gave concrete examples of how to write your bio and reviews based on what type of you reader you are. Super helpful resource!
This is a very thorough, comprehensive, and user-friendly beginner's guide to all aspects of NetGalley, from website and app features to tips for increasing chances of getting approved. Veteran reviewers might not have much to take away from this, but this is super helpful to anyone just starting out on the website, and I'm glad this exists!
This resource was valuable! The guide is comprehensive and easy to read, with numerous recommendations. It is highly recommended for new users or long-time members who wish to take their book advocacy to the next level. Thank you to Netgalley for providing this material.
NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit is a thirty page document containing tips, tricks, and tools for reviewers on the NetGalley platform. It provides extensive information to answer the most common frequently asked questions of most new reviewers on NetGalley.
This is AMAZING!! I don’t know if I missed this when I first started on NetGalley or if it wasn’t easily accessible but I LOVE this!! It’s given me so much more information and answered so many questions I had when I first started. I love how much NetGalley out into this. It’s small but mighty and I think it will be a great tool to use for future new reviewers! Thank you so much NetGalley for providing this to me for review.
This was excellent! I've been reviewing on NetGalley for just under a year and I still picked up on some helpful new tips!
Thank you Netgalley for this valuable resource. I enjoyed the first one and was happy to see an updated version available. This is full of practical and easy to implement advice. I've been a reviewer for a few years now, but its nice to have a refresher now and then!
This guide is a great intro for us NetGalley newbies. It's nice to see everything spelled out in a simple to digest format, rather than having to explore and figure it out all on our own.
So, I wish I had read this when I first started on Netgally. This is such a comprehensive and thorough explanation of the platform along with TONS of useful tips from setting up your profile to writing reviews!
I really think this should be something put in front of every new member so they can better succeed without the struggle I had at first!
After reading NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit I made some changes to my profile in order to better reflect my personality. The PDF was helpful because I understand what the publishers are looking for when they allow us readers access to advanced copies (digital and audio). Recommend to anyone who wants to continue improving being a stronger book advocate.
A great toolkit for new members and members who want a refresher. I have been a member for over a year now and leaned a couple of things I didn't know about NetGalley. Highly recommend.
I learned new things about how to improve my Netgalley profile and reviews. I immediately went and made some updates to my profile after reading the book advocate toolkit.
Such a helpful guide with everything you need to know when starting out with netgalley!! Loved the illustrations!
As I am just about a year into being a NetGalley member, the Revised & Updated Book Advocate Toolkit is perfectly timed! It includes so much helpful information, & serves as a great reminder on how to write a great review & be a useful member of this site. It is also a great reminder to check my profile & refresh my Bio to better reflect who I am today. I greatly appreciate NetGalley & We Are Bookish for providing such helpful guides & would say that this is required reading for any reviewer, no matter how long you've been doing this!

A guidebook for those new to NetGalley, and for current members who may need a refresher on what they can do on NetGalley; what makes for a good profile, review, or to keep a high Feedback Ratio.
This brightly illustrated instruction book summarizes what NetGalley is, how to find your way around, and how to request advance e-copies of books and audio.
It's an easy guide to follow, the main points are highlighted with included links so the reader can find more in-depth details.
However, there should be a definite section at the beginning explaining the website and the app, comparing the differences. As is, some newbies might not understand that they are not the same thing, and there is a difference between using the app/NetGalley Shelf and using NetGalley's website. There's a big difference between what you can do on which and that should be included right away because the jump could be confusing, and the lack of that information can frustrate a new member with what they thought they could do, but can, but only can on this one...
Other than that, not a bad instruction booklet! Straight to the point and easy to follow.

A handy guide for how to make the most of NetGalley and tips on reviewing and requesting books. Plus how to build your profile.
I really appreciated this handbook. It provided some useful information about Netgalley and how to receive more books for review. Although this was kind of like the information provided when I signed up, I feel like this book went into more depth and detail, and provided some useful strategies for being selective about books.
