I love wolves, I love picture books, this book was made for me! The illustrations are soft and colorful. I would definitely gift this book to any young child!
This is a beyond adorable book with incredibly cute illustrations, lots of color and many different animals involved about a little wolf trying to prove his strength and find his way home. I absloutely loved this!
Thank you to NetGalley, Marble Press, Nelly Buchet, and Mathias Ball for providing me with a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
The first thing that really captured my attention was the artwork! The style is adorable and the colors are really rich. I'd purchase the book for the artwork alone.
I haven't had a chance to read this with my daughter yet, but it is something I will definitely read to her when she's older. The story follows Little Wolf, who gets separated from her family and needs to find her way home. It explores differences and learning from others in order to find one's self.
I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read it to my baby to get her thoughts ;)
This book was such a cute story about a little wolf finding their voice and learning that it's ok to be yourself. It reminded me of the story of "Are You My Mother?" The illustrations were beautiful. This went through the season changes and how animals adapt to the weather. My 6 year old loved it. He was able to go in deeper connections and even talked about the salmon run for the animals. We can't wait until it's on shelves so we can buy our own copy!
This book was adorable and the illustrations are absolutely stunning! I love the whimsical style and bright vibrant colors! Little wolf was the sweetest little thing and it was fun to follow her along on her adventure. My son really enjoyed this book. He especially enjoyed all of the different animals little wolf met!
A fun little title that reminds me of "Are You My Mother." A little wolf learns about the animals and world around her when she gets lost. She follows the advice of her mother and the animals she met along the way to get reunited with her family. Super cute. Beautiful Illustrations.
Thank you Netgalley and Marble Press for this ARC of Little Wolf's Howl!
The story follows Little Wolf, who becomes lost in the woods early on in the story and has not yet developed her howl. She has to navigate her surroundings on her own and remembers her Mother's advice "If you get lost find North". As she follows North, she meets a variety of animals along the way that help guide her North. Little Wolf's confidence begins to grow and she begins to believe in herself and her voice. If you want to know how the story ends grab a copy of this book in September 2024!
The illustrations in this book are beautiful and capture the words in this story very well. The images allow the reader to see the characters' emotions and feel like they are in the woods with the Little wolf. My favorite scene was the little wolf sleeping with the bear cubs, which was beyond precious! Overall, very sweet story for children to read and I am looking forward to reading this to my students in the school year!
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a charming story about how a little wolf learns skills necessary to not only survive but thrive!
The illustrations are beautiful and reflective of the movement and mood in the story! Good read for littles.
This was such a cute story! I think this book would be great to read to littles. It discusses hibernation and migration patterns in a way that children can understand. The little wolf is finding their own voice through a little adventure.
Little Wolf's Howl is a heartwarming picture book featuring a colorful cast of animal friends who help Little Wolf journey home. In an effort to show her family how fierce and strong she is, Little Wolf chances down a butterfly and ends up lost in the woods. She remembers her mother's advice on finding North to get home, and sets off to find her way. Little Wolf encounters different creatures along the way, asking each if they are the North she is searching for. While they each have their own opinions of North, they share their skills like swimming and catching fish with Little Wolf, and aid her in her journey back home.
I fell in love with the bright watercolor-esque illustrations of this story, and could see myself using this book as a pre-K or Kindergarten read aloud in the fall or spring time! This story shares different elements of wildlife and biodiversity, as well as lessons on believing in yourself and asking for help.
This book is adorable! I read it to my 3 year old nephew and he had a great time pointing out the different animals that helped Little Wolf find her way (he was particularly fond of bear). We used Little Wolf's journey back to her mom as an opportunity to learn about differences (Goose doesn't care for North, Bear does - why is that? Goose can fly, Little Wolf can't, ect ect) and pointed out how Little Wolf utilizes all the things she learns to get her back home. I really loved the illustrations. Most particularly Little Wolf getting lost and another spot later on where you see Little Wolf catch her own fish. They're bright, colorful and lovely.
Wow this story was absolutely beautiful. We loved seeing wolf learn from all the different animals. The photos were stunning and captivating. My daughter who is 3 wanted it every night. We can’t wait to add it to our collection!
I let my three-year-old nephew pick a few books for me to request and this was the one I was the most excited for out of his choices. The story is really sweet, Little Wolf is extremely cute, and the illustrations are beautiful. Squid absolutely loved it, so I can say with full confidence that it is, in fact, toddler-approved.
What a lovely story! The illustrations are absolutely adorable and the story gave me warm fuzzies. Definitely a book I would buy a child in my life. Very sweet!
This is a very cute and sweet book. My favorite aspect of the story would have to be the lovely illustrations. It probably wouldn't work as a read-aloud for work - since many of the animals featured in the book do not live in our region - but it is still a nice tale to keep in mind!
This is a Children's book that I read to my twin boys. I found this book to be so much fun to read, and I also got to talk to my boys about how people use to use stars to help them figure out which way to go (North and South). Of course now we are going out tonight to see if we can find the brightest star. I loved the pictures. This is a fun and cute book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
This was a wonderful story about finding home and who we meet along the way. Little wolf's journey was long but never scary. An absolute recommendation for libraries looking to boost their family collections. The illustrations were also absolutely stunning! A must read indeed.
This is such a wonderful little book. The illustrations are stunning and so full of life, and the story is sweet but simple.
A lovely story about personal growth, inner strength and finding your way home.
This was a cute story about a wolf pup who was made fun of for not knowing how to howl yet. While trying to prove that the pup was a wolf, the pup became lost and had to find her way home. Along the journey the pup gets help from several other animals who, at the end, allow the pup to come to the realization that it is not any of those other animals and she is in fact a wolf.
This would be perfect for any child. It is a nice story narrating that not everyone blooms at the same time, but the journey to find who you are is worth more then just knowing.
The illustrations were very cute and helped with the storytelling of the content.
Thank you NetGalley, Nelly Buchet, Mathias Ball, and Marble Press for allowing me to review.
I received an electronic ARC from Marble Press through NetGalley.
Little Wolf is teased as she cannot howl. To show them she is a wolf too, she chases a butterfly to catch it. Unfortunately, she gets lost and can't figure out how to get home. She remembers her mother telling her to find north. To do this, she engages with several animals who all help but don't know her home. Readers see her grow as she spends time with others. She finally howls and it is heard so she finds home. Buchet captures the feelings when one feels too small and offers encouragement that growth is coming. In this case, she offers the idea that sometimes we have to stop dwelling on what isn't and celebrate and learn from what we know. A read together that will open dialogue on being who we are.
