Wilson knocks another suspense thriller out of the park with Tell Me What You Did. The story is captivating, fast-paced, and impactful. Plus the short chapters make it an easy page-turner. Thanks to the dual timeline storytelling, readers immediately know that something is wrong. Ian has turned the tables on Poe and she is now in the hot seat, forced to confess her crime. For the remainder of the story, readers are itching to learn Poe’s truth and how the final confrontation will pan out.
While I liked Poe as a character, her brazen and reckless attitude might rub readers the wrong way. She’s different than most female protagonists, but I find it refreshing. The author could improve the story by including more descriptions about characters’ physical appearances. Even so, Wilson continues to be

Wow! This book was very interesting!
Poe Webb is a host of a popular true crime podcast and she invites people to anonymously confess crimes they've committed to her audience. A strange and oddly familiar man appears on her show and Poe is forced to take a second look. Not only because he claims to be her mother's murderer from years ago, but because Poe knows something no one else does. Her mother's murderer is dead. Poe killed him.
This mysterious guy puts Poe through the ringer trying to get multiple episodes on her show and for her to confess her own crime.
This story left me on the edge of my seat and even when there were moments I thought I knew the story, I still felt I was thrilled with what was happening.
Sometimes those are my favorite thrillers, still appealing even if solved!
✨ Would you go onto a podcast to discuss your biggest sin if you were anonymous?✨

Tell Me What You Did is a brilliantly twisted thriller! If you love a good revenge plot, podcasts, and secrets, you will love this. It has serious serial killer vibes.
Poe runs a podcasts in which people can anonymously confess their sins. Sometimes the public is the best detective and can track them down. But what happens when the tables are turned, and it's Poe's turn to confess?
I loved the pacing of this book - it perfectly had my attention the entire time. If you get a chance to listen to the audio, do it. It's FANTASTIC!

I really enjoyed this book. At first, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the main character having a podcast, since I'm not really a fan of modern things being brought into what I read, but it really tied into the story well and was a great way to introduce the antagonist of this story, and I also loved how the main character was able to use her past and turn it into the podcast, although in a way that no one knew about. The alternating timelines also was really well done, and it really helped set the stage for the main conflict between the antagonist, Poe, and her being forced to expose her secret past. This book had me hooked from beginning to end.

This is a great suspense mystery story. It keeps you guessing from the beginning until the last page. It has some twist and turns throughout the story too. Poe Webb is a true crime podcaster who has people call in and confess what they did anonymously. She has dealt with a lot in her personal life. She saw her Mother get murdered when she was just 13 years old. She loves her job as a podcaster and things in her life are good until one day a strange familiar man comes on her podcast and he claims he murdered her mom. However, she knows that can’t be true because she knows and has a secret confession of her own regarding her past and her mother’s murderer. A true crime podcast host with a sordid past she’s tried to sweep underneath the rug, until the past comes back to her when the rug is kicked…
Poe is a podcast host for “Tell Me What You Did”, an intriguing and unique talk show where she interviews criminals and they confess the crimes they’ve committed. She started this podcast after her mom was brutally murdered by a stranger, a stranger she then tracked down and murdered. The podcast becomes an interesting saga when an uninvited guest claims he killed her mother. But wait, didn’t Poe kill her mother’s killer? Did she murder an innocent person or is this man bluffing?
In order to find out more details, Poe entertains this stranger’s request to be on the podcast, until the tables turn and this guest is now interviewing the host, “Tell Me What You Did”. The problem is, this strange man is not only grilling her on her own podcast, but he’s threatening her and the people she cares about in her life. Can Poe outsmart him before something bad happens?
Though I think the character of Poe is a bit immature for age 30 and her character falls a bit flat, I did enjoy this book and it was a quick read and page turner with a twist,

This wasn’t a bad thriller by any sense of the imagination, but I don’t think it’s one that will stay in my brain for very long. I thought that plot idea wise it drew some inspiration from “I Know What you Did Last Summer”, so don’t expect this novel to reinvent the wheel on the genre.
I must admit to being a bit surprised that this was the 10th book that this author has released. There was something about the plot and how simple the plot beats are that feel very ‘debut thriller author’ to me. I think that once your published books have hit double digits you should be able to expect a little more sophistication in the writing craft.
Poe is the host of a true crime podcast called “Tell me what you did”, in which strangers call and confess to crimes that they have committed and have been sitting with the guilt of. However, Poe has been holding on to some heavy secrets herself and after a creepy guest appears on the podcast, claiming to have murdered her mother, these secrets are about to come kicking and screaming into the light.
I didn’t feel any significant connection to any of the characters in this and in fact, at some point or another, Poe, her father and her boyfriend Kip all gave me the shits a little bit. Actually, I take that back, Bailey the dog was a good girl and I’m not going to talk shit about the dog.
Also (and if you have read my reviews for a while you would know what a statement this is because I am dumb as a bag of sand when it comes to guessing the endings to these things) but I picked what the twist was from about 60%.

Carter Wilson does it again. The king of thrillers is back. This book did not disappoint, you need to pick it up!

Wow! This book is a page turner from the very beginning. I loved how Wilson shared current information, while also moving ahead in time to give insights into the lead up to the end. The true crime podcast was so current and realistic. Kept me wanting more, including the eagerness to read some of his other books. Everything about this book kept me on the edge of my seat. Such a well written thriller.

I'm going to admit something - ever since podcasts became a big thing, I love any book that involves a podcast. And this book? WOW.
Poe is usually the one listening, not talking, and what she listens to? People's confessions of the worst thing they ever did. They may not all be great stories, but some of them are real doosies. What's not to love?
Until Poe has someone on her show that shakes her to her core. And they don't necessarily want to tell their story - they want Poe to tell hers.
What happens in this book is so dark and disturbing and I loved every minute of it. There are definitely twists and turns, but more importantly if you love to really delve into the darkness, this is the book for you.

Tell Me What You Did by Carter Wilson is one of the scariest, creepiest thrillers. I’ve read in a long time. I feel like it will become the next book that everyone talks about and compares other thrillers to. I love the main character Poe and that she does a podcast where people call in anonymously and confess their worst deeds. Her backstory was extremely frightening, and the way the author wrote the character of the villain of the story was petrifying. The cat and mouse style that the author uses gave me a very disturbed feeling. I have read all of the author’s previous works, and this is without a doubt, his best.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I wanted to love this book, but something was missing. I felt like I couldn’t keep my attention on the actual story. I am glad I was able to read it as it was a title I’ve had saved for a while. The premise of the book the cover, and the actual story line were all positives for me.

I really liked how the story was formatted, it was a good premise, but it really just fell flat for me. I couldn't stand the main character half the time, and she just didn't seem very developed. It was fast-paced, and a quick read, but I felt like all the "twists" were pretty predictable and I generally just felt lackluster about the whole thing.

WOW. This book was so amazing, so well written and had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. I love podcast elements in thrillers and this really hit the nail on the head. There were moments that I could feel the tension and anxiety in all the best ways. I’ll absolutely be reading more by this author!

This was a twisty thriller that I couldn’t put down! I couldn’t stop reading from page one. Thrillers with unpredictable twists are my favorite and this one did not disappoint!

Tell Me What You Did by Carter Wilson in quick, rapid-fire thoughts.
-I'm a big fan of thrillers with podcast elements. The premise for this one was super unique
-main character Poe is another awesome female character from Wilson
-loved the two, slightly different timelines
-each chapter ended with a hook that, well, hooked me
-I had issues with Poe feeling differently towards both her parents for the same infraction
-multiple creepy and sinister crimes were committed
-my finger was pointing at many different characters to be the villain
-the ending took me by surprise
-(I loved the ominous tone of Patrick Zeller's audiobook narration)
Overall: an entertaining and worthwhile read!

This is a gripping psychological thriller that captivated me from start to finish. The novel delves into the life of Poe Webb, a true crime podcaster who invites anonymous confessions from her guests. Her world unravels when a man appears on her show, claiming to have murdered her mother years ago—a crime Poe believes she has already avenged.
There are themes of guilt, revenge, and the complexities of human nature. The plot is filled with unexpected twists that kept me guessing until the very end.
Tell Me What You Did is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers. Wilson's storytelling prowess shines through in this gripping narrative that will leave you questioning the boundaries of truth and justice.

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

Tell Me What You Did is a thriller in which a true crime podcaster, Poe Webb, has her own podcast used against her when a mysterious guest appears to make her confess to her own long hidden secrets live on air. This guest looks oddly familiar to Poe, and he claims to be her mother’s killer, but that can’t possibly be true - because Poe killed that man years ago. Now Poe must find a way to uncover her guest’s identity and motives before he can get to her, and before it’s too late.
The premise for this story is definitely an interesting one. I enjoyed the general suspenseful tone and how quickly the story reads despite being a longer book. Overall, it’s certainly entertaining and you can probably finish it in a couple of sittings. In terms of narrative structure, some chapters are told in standard format, while others use a podcast transcript format. I tended to prefer the standard format, just because, at times, the dialogue in the transcript chapters could veer into cheesy territory. It wasn’t anything too egregious, but it’s just my opinion. I also guessed the approximate overall solution very early on. It didn’t ruin the experience for me by any means - the story was still told well - but I think this story might not be for readers who prefer super twisty thrillers.
