This was a very cute kids book. It was charming and had a familiar feel to it. It felt like Sherlock Holmes with the spirit of Wes Anderson. I really liked that I could dive into the book without reading the first one, but now that I know there is a first one I'm on my way to read it! The illustration as well was fantastic!

A second INCREDIBLE HOTEL book? How exciting!!

In this sequel to the INCREDIBLE HOTEL, we see Stefan sign up for a baking contest run by a celebrity chef. Stefan hopes to create a great new recipe for the contest, but his recipe note goes missing overnight! What to do??

I absolutely love the illustrations in this series. The hotel itself reminds me of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, which makes me feel quite happy. I found this sequel to be just as delightful as the first book. I loved the additional character of Stefan’s best friend Matilda, and seeing her character arc grow. Overall, a delightful read!

I loved the illustrations of the book. I loved how every page had a little clue to who the thief is before the investigation starts and the illustrations were beautiful. I loved how there is a lot of detail in the backgrounds, which adds another layer to the story itself.

This was an adorable story, perfect for preschoolers and younger elementary students!

I love having a mystery for younger children - it allows them to practice making predictions and helps them really engage with the story. The solution to the mystery was totally unexpected and absolutely fantastic.

The illustrations were beautiful, engaging and fun. There was a lot of diversity in the different people represented in the illustrations, which is a huge plus.

Overall, a wonderful book.

Matilda is a competent detective who needs to solve a mystery at the Incredible Hotel.
Accompanied by beautiful illustrations in a lovely setting and characters, this is good story for KS1 (K1) children.
It is rather compact for KS2 readers.
