Work-Life Tango - Kristel Bauer
A very good self help book, to help break up my fiction reading, and giving me inspiration and insights into a work life balance. A book that I would recommend to friends and family. Also plenty of little tips for you to apply to your daily life. Many thanks John Murray Press for this e-arc in return for my honest thoughts and opinions
Lots of ideas for a work life balance, I found the book useful and it was written in an informative way. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of the book.
I love these business type books - as I love building up my research lists for blog writings and this is another one that will be added to the list. I love that you can refer back to this at a different point of your work life and it will always bring value.
I read Work life tango as a digital book and gave it 4 stars. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review. Work life tango is a nonfiction book talking about work, personal life, balance, health and is also classed as a self help and overall I enjoyed reading it. There was a lot of information, but I do love how it was broken down into chapters and then again into like sub-chapters, but I also really enjoyed the checkpoints at the end of each chapter. I did find WLT interesting and informative and while I don't agree with everything that was said, I will take away a couple things with me to practice on my own and take into account for my own life. I definitely related to some of the things that was mentioned. Overall, I did enjoy reading Work life tango and do recommend if you enjoy self help nonfiction books about the topics I have listed above.
"I devoured 'Work-Life Tango' in one sitting! Kristel Bauer's book is a game-changer for anyone struggling to balance work and personal life. With humor, empathy, and expertise, Bauer guides you through the process of creating harmony in your life.
The book's core idea - that work and life are intertwined, like a tango dance - resonated deeply with me. Bauer shows how to embrace this connection and find happiness, rather than trying to separate the two.
I loved the practical tips and real-life examples, which made the book feel like a conversation with a wise friend. The chapters on setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and cultivating resilience were particularly valuable.
What sets 'Work-Life Tango' apart is its focus on finding peak performance in all areas of life. Bauer encourages you to strive for excellence, not just in your career, but in your relationships, health, and personal growth.
This book is a must-read for anyone seeking a more balanced, fulfilling life. Bauer's writing is engaging, relatable, and inspiring. I'm already implementing her strategies and seeing positive changes. Get ready to tango your way to happiness and success!"
There’s some great advice here about finding your personal balance between work and life, with helpful questions to get you thinking, and the voice of the author is accessible, warm and authentic.
A useful resource to help you check in with where you are, then adjust and adapt to get to where you want to be.
This was a good introduction book for people who are transferring from an office to a work at home environment. I do wish it had more personal stories and went into more depth on how to balance work and life.
I work from home three days so this is a helpful, practical and easy to read book that gave me some tips to try!
I look forward to making a difference to my working life. Thanks to NetGalley for the advance read!
Very insightful, lots of tips and ideas to help create that work/life balance. Kristal touches on working from home which I believe contributes to a lot of us finding it hard to switch off - where does work end and life begin?
I found myself making lots of notes and sharing them with my colleagues, as some who works for the NHS, burnout is all too real.
I would highly recommend this book
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC.
If you are spending a lot of time working at home this is a helpful, practical and easy to read book. It gave me some tips to try and I have made some notes! I look forward to making a difference to my working life. Thanks to NetGalley for the early copy.
I really enjoyed this primer on finding "actual* work-life balance. I appreciated the author's commitment to the dancing metaphor throughout each of her chapters. Some of the advice veered more into the health and self-care space than I would have liked (get more sleep, eat well, etc.) but the more work-oriented chapters were good. I would have liked to see more thought put into what a reader should do if they find themselves in toxic work environments.
