18% in and can't really seem to do it. too slow after the time; may try to restart. too slow of a start; wanted to get into it but wasn't sure how it was going. I feel like after the second portion would take off and then become good. Not as scary or spooky as I was hoping for.

This did take me a while to get into but once I did I really enjoyed it. The story is told from different perspectives which I think helped built up the suspense and character development. There were many twists and turns which definitely kept me guessing. I will be recommending this thriller thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. The premise of this book grabbed me immediately! The storyline was great even though a bit confusing at times. This wasn't an "easy" read. The timeline and characters took some serious concentration. Overall a good read! Looking forward to more from this author

The Therapists daughter by Megan Taylor was a book that was hard to get into. I did try several times, but this book
was not for me. The character's were too complicated, and I couldn't relate to them. Which was annoying especially
as this book looked so good and I loved the book cover.....

Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookhound for my ARC.

I really like the premise of the book but I really struggled to get through it, I wasn’t a fan of the writing, things were a bit confusing throughout the book, it just didn’t grip me from the beginning.

Rating 1/5

Thank you NetGalley and Bloodhound Books for the ARC

It’s time to face the truth. Caitlin Shaw hasn’t set foot in her home village since her girlfriend Livy was accused of killing her mother Theresa, and committed to a secure psychiatric hospital. Now a grown woman and a mother herself, Caitlin is forced to return to care for her ailing mother, her father having passed away! Mmmm this book was definitely a little different from what I usually read?! It had suspense, mystery, murder, and very focused on psychiatric issues! The story was interesting. It wasn’t one of my favorites but still worth reading! Thank you Netgalley, the publishers and the author for sharing this book with me!

I did enjoy this book. I thought the premise of it was really interesting. The only thing I struggled with was the timelines for the main characters, this is a book you need to concentrate on in my opinion.

I liked the idea of this book, but the author's writing style was not to my liking—I struggled to get through it.

This book was gripping and hard to put down. It didn't feel like everything else you see out there, it felt very fresh. I really enjoyed this book!

This was a good, albeit weird read. It is told through multiple perspectives and it was quite confusing at times to work out what was happening. The characters are good and hold many secrets. The latter half of the book ramps up and it provided more excitement, although I still found it to be confusing.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloodhound Books for an advance copy.

This book had a multiple POV which kept the story interesting and also included some flash backs. The family drama, mysteries, and some supernatural/occult elements made for a creepy read!

Megan Taylor's* *The Therapist's Daughter* is a psychological thriller that grips you from the very first page and doesn’t let go. The novel follows Caitlin Shaw as she returns to her childhood village, a place she has avoided for years after the horrifying events that saw her girlfriend, Livy, accused of murdering her own mother, Theresa. The murder, still an unresolved trauma, casts a long shadow over Caitlin's life, leaving her with lingering questions and a sense of dread that intensifies upon her return.

Taylor masterfully builds a tense atmosphere, layering Caitlin’s internal turmoil with the eerie feeling of being watched, a sensation that haunts her as she navigates the ghosts of her past. The plot is driven by Caitlin’s need to uncover the truth—why did Livy, who was once so close to her, commit such a heinous act? And what role did Caitlin’s father, Livy’s therapist, play in the tragedy?

As Caitlin digs deeper into the past, Taylor unravels a complex web of secrets and lies, keeping readers on edge. The characters are intricately developed, with Caitlin’s journey revealing more about her strained relationship with her father and the burden of secrets she carries. The novel expertly explores themes of guilt, betrayal, and the lingering effects of trauma, all while maintaining a pace that keeps you turning the pages.

*The Therapist's Daughter* is not just a tale of suspense; it’s a deep dive into the psyche of its characters, particularly Caitlin, who must confront her own fears and the possibility that the truth might be even darker than she imagined. Taylor’s writing is sharp, atmospheric, and filled with twists that will leave readers questioning everything until the very end.

If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that challenge your perceptions and keep you guessing, *The Therapist's Daughter* is a must-read. It’s a story about facing the past, no matter how terrifying it might be, and the consequences of unearthing long-buried truths.

Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC! I requested this novel because I really was interested in the description., however, this novel is more a horror story than thriller for me. It deals with the occult and the supernatural and I didn’t realize that from the description. It really wasn’t my preference and I couldn’t continue reading.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review. I love how fast paced this book is. The different points of view kept the story interesting and I enjoyed the aspects of flashbacks involved in the storytelling. I did appreciate the characters but I do feel like Cat was very naïve so much so where I could not tell if her perspective was honest or unreliable. I did guess the killer, it did seem obvious to me but it was still a fun journey getting there. Overall a decent thriller.

This wasn’t a favorite of mine.

The multiple perspectives helped keep the book moving along. There was two different timelines of the characters lives.

This a dark look into different family dynamics.

As a teenager, Caitlin Shaw’s girlfriend, Livy, is arrested and committed to a psychiatric hospital for murdering her own mother. In adulthood, Caitlin returns to look after her ailing mother. She is unable to forget the murder and feels as though she is being watched. While there, Caitlin finds out Livy has been released and she is forced to address what happened years ago. Did Livy murder her own mother? How closely entangled is Caitlin’s family with Livy’s?

The Therapist’s Daughter is a character-driven mystery which explores the dark side of family dynamics, trauma and the blurred lines between truth and deception. It is an interesting enough storyline with lots of twists and turns.

Caitlin Shaw goes home for the first time when her mother is ill, and her daughter is away for Christmas.
When she was a teen, her girlfriend was arrested for killing her own mother - the town does not have good memories for her.
Caitlin's late father was a therapist - and treated Livy before the murder.

Phew, very very creepy to say the least. Dark shapes, rooms that seem to close on you, ouija board........moving glass on it shattering. This creeped me out, I do not like anything to do with the supernatural, but could not put the book down.
But I did have a feeling about the ending, and I was right.
For those that like a shiver down the spine - this book is for you.
I will give this 3.5/5, rounded up to 4.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bloodhound Books for the opportunity to read this book.
