Following the events of the first volume, the 2nd volume right away picked up where it left and immediately went to action.
Plot progress in this volume was fast, which I really liked. The graphic novel also spent an amount of time for character build-ups, which I really enjoyed. There's many interesting characters besides the main lead, which I find really interesting, perhaps way more than the leads.
Although, I think I don't want any romance here with the obvious main pairing. The main pairing kind of failed to really endeared or compelled me on their dynamic, most especially Sunny, I'm still not impressed by him.
The plot also thickens, with the whole demons and angels things, which is the reason why we decided to start this. I honestly couldn't wait to know more. Hopefully, we get to see more angels content and not just telling of them more of the Priests please.
Thank you, Onie Press, for the e-arc opportunity via Netgalley.

This series is so readable! It looks good and the plot keeps on twisting. I prefer volume one, but this was a REALLY good follow-up to that. The world was expanded upon and so were the characters, and their relationships too.
Beyond complimenting the art, the characters and the general story arc, I unfortunately don't have much more to say. It very much felt like a piece of the story we get before real progress, but then again, that just makes me even more excited for the next volume. I never thought I would follow along with a graphic novel series, but these silly priests with their diabolical problems really have my heart.
4 stars
Volume 2 picks up right where Volume 1 left off. I definitely enjoyed this one more because there is more world-building and character-building. I like Ezra and his goofiness while also having his serious moments. The poor guy is so conflicted, and he just can't use Gabriel's gift. I'm really curious as to what this gift is.
We learn more about Sunny and his history. He lost his mother and sister to demons, and they've been chasing him all his life. Now, Ezra and company are babysitting him. Something is different about Sunny, and there's a reason all these demons are after him. The plot thickened and held my interest much more than in Volume 1. Unfortunately, I still don't like Sunny's personality as much. I understand why he is the way he is, but mostly, I found him to be rash and impulsive.
I definitely prefer reading this as a volume instead of a webtoon. The panels make things easier for me and my eyes definitely prefer the layout to the constant scrolling. The artwork is amazing, and the action sequences are fantastic. We end on another cliffhanger but I'm very interested to see what happens next. I
Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.
The artwork is absolutely stunning, and the angels vs demons plot is brilliant. This was a super fast read, but the story is slowly building towards something, hopefully something epic. I will be along for the ride.
I received a digital ARC of this graphic novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, i said it once, i'll say it again 😂 i am a Father Aaron girly first, and a reader second. My god (pun unintended), old, tattoed priest type men? fiiiiinnnneeeee 🤌
More to the story, less to my thirst:
Themes we saw in Volume 1 got continued well into Volume 2 - Ezras struggle with his faith (here more so in a practical sense), Sunny's mysterious circumstances, the whole demon lore,...it was great 🫡
My only complaint with Volume 1 (aside from the quanity of Information input we got) was my initial wish that we had more Ezra x Sunny moments, their time didn't quite start till the end of Volume 1 BUT Vuong delivered. I loved the slow development of Sunny and Ezra's dynamic and potential future relationship we got to see here ♡ still yearning for more but that's more on me being impatient and excited than the story. Rushing wouldn't be right.
Mystery wise...tbh i thought i was so smart, i was so sure the Sunny backstory/secret would be predictable, but than things happend - backstory snippets got dropped - and i was thrown into a loop 😭✋️ like u got me there Vuong. Damn u ✊️.
But speaking of mystery, i loved how the demon lore was further developed. We saw more of their inner workings, how they operate, and their alliances, the power dynamics etc . As much as i was mainly here for the romance, the more i learned of the rest, the more i finally wanted and want my answers.
Also: mean cliffhanger.
This is one of my favourite recently released graphic novels. It has a combination of action and dark stories, which I love. It is full of action. We learn a bit more about the characters, but I can't wait to read the next installment!
We dive right back in where we left off from Vol. 1, and the plot thickens as we explore who Sunny really is, why demons won’t leave him alone, and the mystery behind that ever-present knife he carries. Seriously, what is with that knife? 🧐 Is it just me, or is Sunny *way* too calm about all this demon drama? 😂
Ezra, our exorcist with a faith crisis, is still on babysitting duty—tasked with protecting Sunny by Archangel Gabriel (no pressure, right?). Meanwhile, the demons keep getting nastier, and poor Sunny, who’s been surviving solo, now has a whole squad around him, making things awkward AF. Imagine being thrown into a group of strangers while being hunted by demons—yeah, good luck with that! 😵💫
Oh, and then there’s Isaac. He notices something weird about Sunny's mana. Does that mean Sunny's more than just demon bait? Hmm 🤔. And don't get me started on Sunny’s mom—what’s her involvement in all this?
Vol. 2 wraps up with a cliffhanger, where our crew finally captures one of the demons chasing Sunny. Just when you think you’ll get answers—BAM! End of chapter. 🙃
Art style? Chef’s kiss. The art and character designs continue to slay, making each panel feel like a mini masterpiece 🎨. And for those new to the series, you can catch *Covenant* on Webtoon—get ready for an action-packed ride filled with angelic blessings, demon chaos, and a slow-burn queer romance. 💖
I’m seriously hooked and can’t wait for the next volume! What’s the deal with the “Fallen who never fell?!”
🤯 Drop your theories in the comments because I NEED to talk about this!

Once again, I’m completely OBSESSED with this entire world.
The artistry is unmatched.
Vivid and absolutely GORGEOUS.
Picking up right where volume one ended, Sunny and Ezra, and the rest of the crew, are immediately pulled into action.
They now know Sunny is ”more” than human and Ezra vows he’ll still protect him no matter what.
There’s this one scene where they meet eyes and 🥰🥰🥰.
So yea, sloooow burn.
The club they also happen to be at is called ‘Adam & Steve’ and I’m now dead. 🤣🤣
The plot is so good!
The demons are spectacular and the budding romance is sure to be addictive.
I can’t wait for the next volume!

I am so in love with this art style, this plot and this series. I don't think I even need to write much more as feedback, please continue this series forever.
It's so fun, so beautifully illustrated and so unique in the magic system, relationship building and them all being ridiculously hot. I'm very excited to purchase this series for myself physically to reread.
This series has quickly become a favorite of mine, and the second volume is truly remarkable with its high-paced adventures. The action keeps you on the edge of your seat, while the characters continue to evolve in intriguing ways. Their development adds depth to the story, making each twist feel impactful. The art is, as always, stunning—richly detailed and dynamic, perfectly complementing the intensity of the plot. This volume is a brilliant continuation, balancing gripping storytelling with exceptional artwork.
In a world where priests wield holy tattoos and machine guns to battle demons, Sunny Nguyen stands out as a mystery—a seemingly ordinary human with an inexplicable ability to attract dark forces. Assigned by the Archangel Gabriel, exorcist Ezra, who grapples with his wavering faith, must protect Sunny. But that mission proved more difficult than expected.
As Ezra and his team confront increasingly violent and powerful demonic threats, the puzzle of why these entities are after Sunny deepens. Meanwhile, Ezra is drawn to the surly, enigmatic Sunny, and their connection grows amidst the chaos. With danger closing in, can Ezra's faltering faith hold strong? And more importantly—can he keep Sunny alive?
I finished the second volume wanting more and was thrilled to see it released. I enjoyed spending more time with Sunny and Ezra, though I noticed the nuns seemed to have vanished between volumes. Still, I'm excited to see where the story goes next. The dynamic between Sunny and the three future priests tasked with babysitting him was fantastic—it added a fun layer to the plot. Now, with a glimmer of hope for revenge and maybe even a chance to live past 20, Sunny’s journey is more intriguing than ever.
This series is getting better and better! I read Covenant vol. 2 in one sitting, it was so good and very addictive.
The story picks up right where volume 1 ends, in the middle of the action. I loved that the characters were developed further, we learned more about their backstories, a lot of the questions I had in volume 1 were answered in this volume. It’s a great continuation of the story and I can’t wait for the next volume!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Oni Press for providing me with this arc.
This series is absolutely fascinating! There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but it's good to start seeing some of their interactions and relationships build. Absolutely gorgeous art!
This quickly became one of the best stories I have ever read. I was lucky enough to also get an ARC of volume 1 and loved it. I waited for months to try and buy a physical copy. Definitely plan on continuing the series. This volume finally explores a bit more of the relationship between the two main characters, and gives more solid backstory. Overall, a solid addition and I can't wait for more volumes to come out.
An excellent continuation of the story, with everything—the tension, the mystery, the romance—slowly ramping up, keeping me invested. The art is still great. Having these volumes out in book form makes for much more enjoyable reading than the serialized version available online, so that’s definitely a benefit. I really appreciate how this series plays with Christian saints and mythology. Can’t wait to see where the story goes.
Thank you so much for letting me read this graphic novel. I am so happy I was able to also read this second volume. The story really picked up the pace and we got a few answers.
Volume 2 in the Covenant series leveled up the intensity and progressed the storyline nicely. In additional to the stunning artwork, Lysandra Vuong showed us more background into Sunny and some of the mystery surrounding him as well as finally revealing our big bad! I still think this graphic novel hits all the right notes for fans of Supernatural, but this time the queer relationships are out and proud.
Now that things are starting to come together and a big battle is on the horizon I'm definitely waiting with baited breath for Volume 3.
Another fun addition to this series! I’m very curious about where this will go, I feel like we’re getting little tidbits of info and soon we’ll get a big reveal
The art style in this is so cool! Which is what drew me to it in the first place. I’ll continue to pick these up as the come out!
First: Thanks to NetGalley, the Author and the Publisher for this ARC.
THIS!!!
😍😍😍😍😍
I like the characters, their interactions, the inclusion, the story, the mystery and the suspense.
It has you hooked from start to finish.
The action sequences were really well done, they were well drawn and clear on what was happening, even if it was a whole lot for one page.
After getting the ARC of the first volume, and loving it, I was really glad I also got the ARC for volume 2.
I'm really loving the art and the story. It leaves you curious and questioning.
I'm completely invested and can't wait for volume 3
Thank you to Oni Press and NetGalley for a free advanced listener’s copy. I received this copy in exchange for my honest review.
A fantastic and action packed conclusion to the first volume of the series. I love Vuong’s character design and the flow they use through their action sequences. While I find the traditional webcomic style of posing with a 3D model before drawing over it can have a tendency to look a bit stiff sometimes, Vuong uses it to their advantage to keep the action really engaging. I also feel like the story is getting really interesting; you can really feel the frustration of all the characters as the mystery of Sunny’s problems becomes murkier and the answer feels further away than ever.
I can’t wait for the next installment of the series!
