Description
In a world where priests are decked out in holy tattoos and brandish machine guns in the face of demons, Sunny Nguyen is an outlier—a seemingly normal human who is a mysterious demon magnet. Ezra, an exorcist struggling with his own faith in God, has been tasked by the Archangel Gabriel to protect Sunny—but that might be easier said than done.
As Ezra and the rest of those on his team find themselves facing increasingly violent—and increasingly powerful—forces, the mystery of why these demons want to capture Sunny continues to unfold, and Ezra finds himself drawn to his surly classmate-turned-charge. With their friendship growing and danger mounting, can Ezra’s faith withstand the onslaught? And more importantly—will Sunny survive it?

This is so much fun. Vol 1 was excellent, but I think this is even better. The ‘good side’ characters are just brilliant, almost superpowers to fight demons, yet so human. They are humanly flawed, and so much humour comes in their interactions with each other. The demons are, demons - wonderfully portrayed through the excellent artwork. I kept pausing my reading just to look. The story follows a familiar theme for this genre, yet has so much that is unique. Questions answered, but so much more to be revealed. Thank you to Oni Press and NetGalley for the comic ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
Big thanks to Oni Press and NetGalley for the arc!!!
Vol.2 has me even more invested in this series, and I thought I was invested after vol.1. This volume for sure answered questions I had, but I definitely have more. I'm kind of excited about having to think about things while waiting for vol.3!
It is such a unique graphic in the story that is being told, like it is a literal joy to read. The illustrations definitely add to the story telling aspect as well. Every character is so detailed, in the emotion that we some from them and how they interact with others. Lastly, I just need to have a moment about the illustrations, they are amazing and I found myself not actually reading because I was looking at the illustrations.....
5/5
Another gorgeous part of the Covenant series. As soon as I was approved for the ARC I sat down and read it in one sitting. The art just keeps getting better and better and the story more and more compelling. It is the very definition of obsession for me waiting for more of this story to keep coming and coming.
Covenant is the series that keeps getting better and better!!
I think that I have found my newest obsession in the graphic novel world! Covenant was something that I picked up the first volume on a whim and I’m so glad that I did! This series is excellent and unique but has some of the most amazing illustrations I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this year!
The story picks up immediately where Volume 1 ends (right in the middle of the action - which that cliffhanger left me GASPING)! However, that conflict is where we resume so expect some of the fastest pace you can think of when starting this next edition. As we continue to explore and expand the world, we finally start getting some answers for my new fave characters. Some backstories are exposed and when those secrets come to life the stakes raise higher!
I think this story is going to continue to build and gain momentum and it is going to be a massive hit I already know! Do yourself a favor and get in early as we explore more of the Covenant world!
Perfect for fans of the Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare, Supernatural, and Lucifer!
I am absolutely obsessed with the drawing style. This comic has a cast of such incredibly cool and diverse characters, the squad dynamic is amazing and we’re delving deeper into the mystery and the lore in this second installment. Some of the scenes are visually so powerful you could easily get chills from it, but the characters are not only badass warriors, they’re also vulnerable human beings and I adore every single one of the squad members.
We’re starting to get a little closer to the heart of the plot here, and while I can’t wait to see where this is going, I also love seeing Ezra and Sunny’s relationship evolve.
I am hooked and I can’t wait for the next volume.
Thank you Oni Press and Netgalley for this eARC, these opinions are my own. Ezra, along with his church, continue to try to find out why Sunny has demons following him. But Sunny really had no idea. And each interaction with a demon seems to only give more questions. Can they figure out what the demons want with Sunny? Another explosive volume of LySandra Vuong’s Covenant series! I’m loving this series and each volume has had me hooked! The artwork is beautiful as well! Highly recommend checking this one out!
This series truly is amazing. I love that in this volume I learned more about Sunny and the other characters in the cast. Isaac is slowly becoming my favorite. I love his design, powers, and his personality. I think this volume really showed the dynamic of the team. The art is still stunning and seeing more intense fight scenes made me love the art even more. I love the club scene and seeing how Sunny and Ezra were sharing a glance. I really am falling in love with this series and I can't wait to see more of it. The story has so many layers and the more I learn the more layers are added to the mystery to keep me engaged. It is an amazing series.
I loved the continuation of the story from the first volume. It was nice that it picked up right where volume 1 left off. The way the story picked up speed with every page turned was fantastic! It made it very difficult to put down, and when I did, I did so begrudgingly. I cannot wait for the next volume of this to come out! It quickly became one of my favorite series that I have read in recent memory! Just incredible story telling!
I loved everything about this graphic novel! What a cliffhanger to leave it on. I will be impatiently waiting on the edge of my seat until Vol 3 comes out.
Thank you Netgalley and Oni Press for the readers' copy.
I know hot, queer, fighter priests sounds niche but I love this for everyone ♥
The characters, art style, pacing, dialogue are perfect. Literally no notes.
Such a fun continuation from book 1 and again leaves you wanting more.
Bring on book 3 *makes grabby hands*

Absolutely incredible, yet again!
This volume was even more exciting than the last one.
The characters are so unique and their designs are amazing.
I'll definitely be buying this once it's out.
Huge thanks to Oni Press and NetGalley for providing me with this arc
First: Thanks to NetGalley, the Author and the Publisher for this ARC.
THIS!!!
😍😍😍😍😍
I like the characters, their interactions, the inclusion, the story, the mystery and the suspense.
It has you hooked from start to finish.
The action sequences were really well done, they were well drawn and clear on what was happening, even if it was a whole lot for one page.
After getting the ARC of the first volume, and loving it, I was really glad I also got the ARC for volume 2.
I'm really loving the art and the story. It leaves you curious and questioning.
I'm completely invested and can't wait for volume 3
Volume 2 in the Covenant series leveled up the intensity and progressed the storyline nicely. In additional to the stunning artwork, Lysandra Vuong showed us more background into Sunny and some of the mystery surrounding him as well as finally revealing our big bad! I still think this graphic novel hits all the right notes for fans of Supernatural, but this time the queer relationships are out and proud.
Now that things are starting to come together and a big battle is on the horizon I'm definitely waiting with baited breath for Volume 3.
This quickly became one of the best stories I have ever read. I was lucky enough to also get an ARC of volume 1 and loved it. I waited for months to try and buy a physical copy. Definitely plan on continuing the series. This volume finally explores a bit more of the relationship between the two main characters, and gives more solid backstory. Overall, a solid addition and I can't wait for more volumes to come out.
This series is absolutely fascinating! There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but it's good to start seeing some of their interactions and relationships build. Absolutely gorgeous art!
This series has quickly become a favorite of mine, and the second volume is truly remarkable with its high-paced adventures. The action keeps you on the edge of your seat, while the characters continue to evolve in intriguing ways. Their development adds depth to the story, making each twist feel impactful. The art is, as always, stunning—richly detailed and dynamic, perfectly complementing the intensity of the plot. This volume is a brilliant continuation, balancing gripping storytelling with exceptional artwork.
I am so in love with this art style, this plot and this series. I don't think I even need to write much more as feedback, please continue this series forever.
It's so fun, so beautifully illustrated and so unique in the magic system, relationship building and them all being ridiculously hot. I'm very excited to purchase this series for myself physically to reread.
We dive right back in where we left off from Vol. 1, and the plot thickens as we explore who Sunny really is, why demons won’t leave him alone, and the mystery behind that ever-present knife he carries. Seriously, what is with that knife? 🧐 Is it just me, or is Sunny *way* too calm about all this demon drama? 😂
Ezra, our exorcist with a faith crisis, is still on babysitting duty—tasked with protecting Sunny by Archangel Gabriel (no pressure, right?). Meanwhile, the demons keep getting nastier, and poor Sunny, who’s been surviving solo, now has a whole squad around him, making things awkward AF. Imagine being thrown into a group of strangers while being hunted by demons—yeah, good luck with that! 😵💫
Oh, and then there’s Isaac. He notices something weird about Sunny's mana. Does that mean Sunny's more than just demon bait? Hmm 🤔. And don't get me started on Sunny’s mom—what’s her involvement in all this?
Vol. 2 wraps up with a cliffhanger, where our crew finally captures one of the demons chasing Sunny. Just when you think you’ll get answers—BAM! End of chapter. 🙃
Art style? Chef’s kiss. The art and character designs continue to slay, making each panel feel like a mini masterpiece 🎨. And for those new to the series, you can catch *Covenant* on Webtoon—get ready for an action-packed ride filled with angelic blessings, demon chaos, and a slow-burn queer romance. 💖
I’m seriously hooked and can’t wait for the next volume! What’s the deal with the “Fallen who never fell?!”
🤯 Drop your theories in the comments because I NEED to talk about this!
