This was great! This fast paced romance show cases the relationship of marketing tech wizard Tania and professional rock climber Nolan. The unlikely pair meet and sparks fly quickly. Soon the two are in an extending rock climbing adventure together. Both characters have trauma and anxiety to work through and this books covers both very well. I will be breading her other book!
A great read, the story of Tania and Nolan. A case of opposites attract, but will their differences keep them apart. A great series so far, and I loved the setting of this book.
Love on the Rocks is book two in the Glam Fam series by Alyssa Jarrett.
Ok I have to read book one Love Apptually.
I really enjoyed this light and fluffy rom com read. The main characters are all likeable, the writing flows well and I was quickly immersed in the story.
The characters in this novel have a real, authentic feel to them which makes them both so realistic.
Brilliant writing and immersive storytelling made this such a fun story.

Now I did not love this book BUT other's might love it, this is my own review
I was drawn to this book as I love rock climbing and beautiful views especially that it is set in the beautiful Yosemite but sadly this book fell flat for me.
I felt this book was slow moving yet the 'love' was fast and rushed. I felt Tania and Nolan's relationship was rushed and happened too quickly. I just couldn't get on with either character's. Nolan I felt was pushy and Tania was a people pleaser who was burnt out and I felt bad for her being pushed into 'rock climbing' and also felt for Nolan as it was clear Tania didn't want him risking his life and it was his dream. But I pushed through and finished it. I really didn't like the climbing words and phrases during intimate scenes and that made me cringe so much, there wasn't much spice either which to me was disappointing!
I did like that anxiety was openly talked about and that made Tania relatable to many people!
Overall the book was good and some might absolutely love it but sadly it just was not for me!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and give an honest review!
From the very beginning it is clear Tania and Nolan like each other. Their chemistry is clear. But it bummed me out how bad their communication was for most of the book.
Tania has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and goes to therapy for it. It was funny and refreshing to see she personified her Anxiety; she calls it Hammy because it's like a hamster running around her brain. It was nice to get such a close look at how an anxiety fueled brain can rile you up as a person. But at certain points I missed some exlaining or mentioning of how her Anxiety impacted her or her actions.
A large part of the bad communication seemed to be due to her Anxiety. She was feeling super anxious but felt like she could not tell Nolan because she was so anxious. And that was never mentioned. There was strain and they became distant. Partly because Tania never spoke up about how she was feeling and what she wanted. But she isn't to blame alone. Nolan could have asked her what was going on and he never did. He just got annoyed and drew his own conclusions. That really bothered me!
This all derails and becomes more and more of a problem... If they just communicated clearly and honestly with each other, a lot of feelings could have been spared. And I get that people want drama. But I rather have drama in the sense of personal conflict and confusion and growth. Where partners help each other through it. And that was not what this book was.
So maybe it just was not my type of book!
Other than that, the sabbatical of six weeks seemed too long for me. It didn't really work for the plot in my opinion. The story glosses over a lot of time. And in that period Tania has time to think and reflect and contemplate. And I love it when you as a reader get to live through that with the main character. To see them grow, have eureka moments. To see them changing. Instead of seeing a changed woman at the end of the book. But if you don't like all the contemplating I think you will really click with this story! Because we see Tania changed at the end. Make decisions. But are not really sure how she got here exactly.
But 'Love On The Rocks' is not a bad story at all. It just lacked elements I personally really enjoy. So it wasn't the book for me. But I did enjoy the writing style, it grabbed me from page one and I finished it in two days during a reading dip. So that has to count for something right?!

When a workaholic meets a free spirit in the middle of a snowstorm, it sets them both on a path towards love and self-discovery.
Tania is a superpowered marketing executive in Silicon Valley who happens upon Nolan Wells when she accidentally gets stuck outside in a snowstorm while she is at a work retreat in Yosemite. After their meeting, she can't stop thinking about him and the path that her job has her on, so she utilizes her sabbatical to go on a journey to figure out what she wants to do with her life.
This book is great if you like characters that have a deep connection and a sense of thrill for some of the more harrowing aspects of rock climbing. However, for me, it just didn't hit the way that I wanted. I couldn't relate to either Tania or Nolan during the book, finding their characters both uninteresting and in some cases, a bit vapid.
I am sure many people will find that this book resonates with them, but for me it did not.
This was a fun story set in the same universe as Jarrett's first book, although you don't need to have read that to enjoy this one. The climbing aspect was interesting as it is quite a unique storyline and it adds jeopardy in a realistic way. It was fun to learn about this sport with Tania without feeling like you were reading a manual. I felt like the relationship was quite unrealistic but I was rooting for them anyway. If you enjoyed Love Apptually, you'll enjoy this.

I really wanted to love this book, but it wasn’t meant to be. Tania and Nolan’s romance was sweet, and I liked that they worked on having healthy communication and supported each other, but they never really clicked for me. Nolan felt very one-dimensional—he’s a man who loves climbing and… pretty much nothing else. It felt like Tania fit herself into a box to be what he wanted in a partner (someone who wanted to climb all day, every day), even while she was on sabbatical trying to figure out what she wanted to do with her life.
Loved seeing the anxiety rep, but it felt off to me. In the very beginning, Tania goes for a walk while thinking about what terrible anxiety she has and yet still manages to walk out of sight of her hotel, off the trail, without noticing it was getting dark AND that there was a snowstorm so bad that inches were accumulating. This felt so wholly unbelievable that it pulled me out of the story right as I needed to get into it.
Alyssa Jarrett’s Love on the Rocks tells the love story of workaholic Silicon Valley marketing executive Tania and off-grid world-famous rock climber Nolan. After Tania gets caught in some less-than-ideal weather during a company retreat in Yosemite, Nolan saves her life (quite literally) by keeping her safe — in the van he happens to live in — until daylight: a meet-cute fit for the romance book hall of fame. During that night, they exchange details of each other’s life, including how Nolan believes Tania should break free from her corporate chains and do something for herself for once, and as I’m sure you can imagine, this doesn’t go down well at first. But after a dramatic exit from the van and an awkward bathroom experience involving talk of frostbite, there is an undeniable chemistry present between them — a chemistry strong enough to convince Tania to take a well overdue six-week sabbatical in Yosemite with Nolan. Cue the romance.
This book was a joy to read from start to end. The combination of swoon-worthy romance coupled with lovingly written anxiety representation make it undeniably worth the read. Alyssa Jarrett's writing is fast-paced without skipping any details, and it is this style that allow readers to become so invested — I was rooting for Nolan and Tania right from the start. I particularly loved the open communication between the two main characters throughout which allowed for a heartfelt relationship to blossom without any unnecessary confrontation. I also think it's worth mentioning that sometimes, sports romances can be filled with jargon that can take you out of the story, but this was not the case here. The rock climbing references are expertly weaved throughout the plot which give it a wonderful edge. It is books like Love on the Rocks that remind me why I love reading so much.
5/5 stars. Releases on 22nd of october. Thank you to Netgalley and Alyssa Jarrett for the advanced reader copy!

This witty story was right up my alley being from Northern California. I have friends on both sides of this relationship - granola loving, weekend warrior, REI wearing… and corporate hand-cuffed, spa day pampered corporate, purse first type… I appreciated the opposites attract-ness of it all!
What I Loved Most:
Alyssa Jarett’s humor is so witty! Especially in relation to being a millennial. I feel like I’m in on an inside joke when it comes to some of the references, but I know they are broader than I realize. It still makes me feel smart, so thank you!
Hammy! I love that Tania’s anxiety is a hamster, with a name. It really added to the mental health element of this story. Who hasn’t argued with the anxious hamster spinning inside their head?! Anxiety rep perfection.
The story was paced with clips of blog posts, reddit feed, texts with therapist, work chat, search history… and it was a fun way to get more information and stay true to the techie connection to the story (even when the FMC is pooping in the woods).
Favorite Quotes:
“There’s no way you’re achieving self-actualization without sushi delivery and fiber internet.”
“Alright, that was a good one. Nolan’s got that dark sense of humor I like. Nothing gets me going like a guy in therapy.”
“Meet me in the lobby in ten, and go change into some outdoor-appropriate attire, will you? Nobody ever made a convincing argument in Uggs.”
If you’re looking for a cozy read with the perfect amount of spice, a light rock climbing lingo lesson, and lots of giggles, you should 100% read this book!

This story is about Tania, an ultra-successful marketer who works for a tech start up in Silicon Valley and Noah Wells, the best rock climber in the world. They have the ultimate meet-cute, and afterward, they can't stop thinking about each other.
As they get to know each other, we find out about Noah's relationship with his family (toxic parents) and Tania's family and glam fam friends. (I didn't read the first glam-fam book, and this book was great as a stand-alone.)
Tania's anxiety makes regular appearances in the book, and the author represents it with care and accuracy. She calls her anxiety Hammy, the hamster that's always running on the spinning wheel inside her brain. She has a great relationship with her therapist, and by some of the things Nolan says, she can tell he's been to therapy, which is a turn-on for her. I love that they're both still working on themselves as individuals while also being open to loving each other.
Overall, I liked the story and the MCs had great chemistry with some spice. They had challenges to overcome, as is always the case in the opposites attract trope. I didn't like how Tania wouldn't voice her opinion when she wasn't enjoying climbing herself. It just didn't fit in with her character. I also didn't love the ending. It wraps everything up in a nice bow, which is why we read romances, but Nolan's goal and his free soloing really freaked me out. I can't say more without spoilers.
Tania takes a walk to quiet her mind only to nearly walk off a cliff in the dark and in a snowstorm. She's saved by Nolan, a world-famous rock climber who keeps her safe in his van overnight. She returns to her life in San Fransico but can't seem to put Nolan out of her mind. And he can't seem to forget about her either.

I really wanted to like this one but it feel short. The beginning and end were fantastic, but the middle really dragged the book down. There wasn't much character growth or tension. Not a bad book; just one that could have used a few more developmental edits.
A delightful rom-com that balances humor and heart, taking readers on an exhilarating journey through personal growth and love. The story follows Tania, a Silicon Valley marketing executive who grapples with anxiety and chooses to avoid her feelings at all costs. The contrast between her high-stress corporate life and the spontaneous, adventurous world of Nolan Wells, a top rock climber, sets the stage for an engaging narrative.
The chemistry between Tania and Nolan is palpable from their first encounter in the snowstorm. Their dynamic is both refreshing and relatable, as Tania's initial reluctance to embrace her feelings is met with Nolan's easygoing ways.
While the plot is generally engaging, there are moments where the pacing feels a bit rushed, particularly towards the end. Some of the conflict resolution could have been explored in more depth, leaving a few threads feeling slightly unresolved.
"Love on the Rocks" is a charming read that will appeal to both adventure seekers and those who appreciate a good love story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stoooop because low key triggering because of my climber ex 😭😭 haha fr though, I loved this book and at times I found myself wondering ‘am I okay, why am I thinking about my ex’ and it was due to all the rock climbing lingo and experiences in the book. It was kinda funny and most def took me down memory lane lol would recommend to those who like climbing or have an so (or ex?) that does!
Alyssa Jarrett is really good at writing a relatable millennial romance and in this one, she gives a name and a voice to the anxiety that feels like it rules so many of us. Tania and Nolan had some swoony moments and I think Tania's career- related journey felt very relatable. That said, I think the pacing felt a little off and the development of the relationship suffered a little for it. I feel like if you like Jarrett's first book or you are immersed in that Silicon Valley tech startup life, you'll vibe with this one!
I will admit this book was not for me. There really felt like a lot of... almost personal attacks of people who have/want children. The general discussion itself is fine. The way Tania has to make sure to cover it early, and the pain that surely exists as the choices you make for your future are questioned was there. But it went beyond that. At one point Tania and Nolan are in a hallway and she has the thought that she's about to "forgo the bedroom" if you will when they're interrupted by a man and his pre-k age child, and later they comment about how he was "pearl-clutching' and they hope he "heard them" it was just a very bizarre tone to take, all things considered.
I understand a couple in a millennial romance being child free by choice. I understand the need to have that conversation. I don't understand the vitriol.
I'm sure there are people who will love this book. Who will feel seen by this book. I love that for you. I wish I could.
At the end, I didn't care for how concerns the characters had were handled, I didn't care for how certain lifestyles were treated as better or worse than the choices others make, I didn't care for how the anxiety rep was handled.
2 stars because I recognize this book IS for someone. But that someone is not me.
I throughly enjoyed this story! My husband made me fall in love with Yosemite 14 years ago when he took me for a few days. We camped and explored everything we could! When I saw this cover on NetGalley, I knew without reading a single thing it was El Capitan on the cover!!!
Thank you Alyssa for bringing my heart joy with this story. This was a story of growth as well as a love story! I enjoyed it; every moment. It was a slow burn but it was beautiful. This woman Tania is lost and just needed to find who she was and who she wanted to be by her side!
I truly loved the plot as it was different from anything else I have read. Thank you NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy of Love On The Rocks!

I really enjoyed Love on the Rocks. It was a cute romance and the rock climbing aspect was an interesting addition. I liked that our FMC is in her 30s and very relatable.
There were some aspects I din't love like for example how its made out to be perfectly normal that one person has to change to fit themselves seamlessly into the others life instead of both parties putting in the work to fit into each others lives, but overall it was still a very nice read and I flew through it in one day.
3.5 stars
Ready for a great sports read. Love on the Rocks takes a different spin and uses rock climbing as its base!
I really tried to get through this book but in the end it just wasn’t for me and I ended up giving up at 75% done
