Lee Holden presents the philosophy of slowing down in your life. Modern society has made us believe we always need to be on the go or working hard to achieve our goals as quickly as possible. Holden brings back the old thought that everything has its time and you should savor the moments. One thing Blue Zone areas have in common is a culture of savoring the moment of enjoying the meal one bite at the time and the company of friends during meals or of an evening and taking your time doing a task.
Holden presents Eastern traditional methods for slowing down and participating in life instead of rushing through it. The benefits of slowing done affect your mental and physical self. Improve your health and begin 2025 with Ready, Set, Slow.

In this book Holden shares The Slow Method, principles of slow mind, body, and relationships drawn from the philosophical wisdom of Eastern meditation, martial arts, and philosophies and merged with Western science.

This book teachers you techniques such as meditation, breathing exercises, and conscious communication to help you learn how to slow down. It helps with letting go of things that cause anxiety or stress and attract more positive energy in to your life- something we all need.

Overall it was a great book and I would highly recommend. I am looking forward to reading more from Lee Holden.

“There’s too much at stake not to slow down,” shares Qi Gong master Lee Holden. “By slowing down, you’ll gain time, energy, focus, and clarity.” It seems counterintuitive, yet it's so true. This is the reason why taking a study break at school makes you retain more information when you return. Why taking a short walk during lunch on a long workday leaves you more invigorated. Why the power-nap even exists! In this book, common myths are busted and exercises are provided for retraining your brain and body to slooooow way down...something that doesn't seem to be valued in today's fast-paced society. Do it anyway. You - in twenty years - will thank the you of today.
