Book 2 in The Mountains Are Calling Series - I don’t even know where to start because this book was so much for me. It sucked me in. It made me laugh. It made me cry. It reminded me it’s good and okay to dream. In this book, you’ll find chemistry that will blow you away. Character development that’s deep with struggles that are very human. Friends and community that truly prove it takes a village. Most importantly, what it looks like to show up for the people you love in big and small ways.
The MCs have sarcastic banter and insane chemistry that is clear from the very first scene. The MCs are so intentional, especially Gray. The can both see each other so clearly when they other is struggling. Sometimes their own insecurities get in the way, but for the most part, both MCs provide steady, consistent comfort and support to one another. There is meaning written all over their actions, gifts, and words to one another. From the poppies and the color of the flowers, to the books collected, surprise trips, family dinners, and taking care of blistered feet. Gray and Fin show up for each other.
They also have so much fun together and keep one another on their toes. I mean talk about a first kiss!! That first kiss is the stuff of early 2000s romcom dreams. 🤭 I was hooked from the very first chapter and couldn’t put this book down! I need to read book one ASAP.
p.s. the author’s note and heart behind this book was evident with every thoroughly thought out detail. I can see your heart poured into the book Madison and I’m grateful for the story you created 💕 it helped me in my hard (a different hard) too.
This is a closed door romcom, with implied intimacy between a married couple in the epilogue. Emotions/thoughts are the focus of the scene with minimal details of any actions. There is mild cursing throughout the book and passionate, descriptive makeouts. There is mentions of drinking and getting drunk throughout the book.
**Thank you so much to Madison for letting me read this ARC via Netgalley. I received a complimentary copy. No positive review was required. All thoughts are my own.**

OMG Grey 💔💔💔
He is literally a heartthrob. I can't even deal with it.
I won't lie I love a brothers best friend trope, and this has all of it.
Finley, dear finley. Please look up and see what's infront of you!
I love how Grey was like an adopted member of the family, which made his relationship with Finley all the more exciting!
Loved this book. Well done!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I'm quite literally a goner for our hero Grey. THIS MAN. He's been in love with his best friend's sister for 15 years, has a secret tattoo just for her, bakes her brownies, buys her books at garage sales so she can stock up for her future bookstore. All👏the👏green👏flags. Meanwhile he has one of the most tortured souls of any mmcs I've ever read. IM RUINED. 🥺🥺
Finley was also a spectacular mfc. I related to many of her insecurities, but I also just loved how much love she put out into the world. Both her and Grey had beautiful character growth, and I sobbed during the epilogue. Like a freaking baby ya'll. I'm obsessed with them and their dreamy romance. 😭💝
Now I need to go read Wren and Holden's story asap bc what lovely supporting characters 🥹

“I’m so damn gone for her that I’ll take even that little slice if it’s all she’ll ever give me.”
Madison never fails to make me a sobbing mess and she’s done it again. Only in Your Dreams is tender, sweet, funny, and full of hope. I could’ve posted the full 20 image limit with the number of quotes I have highlighted.
✨Finley is lighthearted and vulnerable. After being dumped by her the guy she thought was her forever, she fears that she’ll never be enough. I think we’ve all had moments where we feel this way. I loved watching her character develop. She spontaneously decides to fake date Grey and he’s nothing but happy about it. She can’t stop her childhood crush from roaring back.
✨Grey. Grey. Grey. I am in a puddle just saying that. He is a firefighter and is struggling with trying to figure out what he wants to do with this life. He has always been in love with Finley, but she’s his best friend’s sister. He doesn’t have the best relationship with his family, and Holden has always been family to him. When Finley slips that she said they were dating, he can only hope there is a chance for something more.
“I feel alone,” I whisper
“I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
✨Finley and Grey have a pure love for each other. Even just as friends, they knew they could count on each other. There were so many swoon worthy moments between them. He takes care of her multiple times. She sticks up for him. I loved that Grey would help remind Fin just how special she was. Ugh I just love them.
“She looks like every dream I’ve ever had, and it makes my throat tight. I want to wake up like this every single morning for the rest of my life.”
Only in Your Dreams has:
💜 Brother’s best friend
🚒 Firefighter
💐 Florist
🧢 “Sweetheart.”
🍫 Small town
💛 Fake dating
🎡 Found family
📚 He takes care of her
💙 He falls first
Ps, it releases on September 27th!
Pps, if you loved Holden and Wren from Off the Beaten Path, they’re in this one as well. I’m loving the found family trope and getting to see snippets of the characters in each book.
Thank you so much @authormadisonwright and Victory Editing for the ARC! 🫶🏼
Oh gosh, this was a gorgeous, gorgeous read!
Only in Your Dreams is swoon-worthy, from start to finish, it's made of the stuff you dream of in romance: a healthy, tender, heart-warming love story, two incredible leads with wonderful, evolving personal arcs, and a backdrop filled with an eclectic cast of characters and settings. I had such a good time!
Finely, oh Finley! I felt reflected in her character. It hurt to see her insecurities, her fear of not being enough. It's such a relatable feeling-- a relatable fear. It cripples her, but what I love about this vulnerability is seeing how she fights back at it throughout her journey. It's the type of arc that will have you hollering and crying all at once as you see her climb that mountain. Love you, Finley!
Grey. My Grey. Ahhh, the greenest of green flags. Love him forever!
I loved every single second in his POV-- I loved seeing how much he loves Finley, how smitten, in love, and forever dreaming he was of her. It was so pure, so romantic, and so endgame.
If you're looking for your next book boyfriend, look no further-- Grey is your man! And mine! And Finley's! Get in line, folks!
The romance between the two comes together so fabulously-- it's fake dating trope but it feels different because you know one half is in it for real, and this is a chance they won't let go of. This is a chance to make those dreams to come. There's something at stake from the onset and I held my breath all the way through out. My heart was thump-thump-thumping, and it burst into rainbows, and stars, and soooo many swoons! This was an incredibly well crafted love story.
And shout out to the epilogue! Thank you Madison Wright for giving us a true epilogue, not a "few days later" epilogue, but years later! YES! I just about cried. It was so perfect-- so fitting of the title (and all its callbacks). It was warm blanket to cuddle with, a warm smile to light you up, a warm hug to nestle in.
It's the type of ending you, well...dream of.
If you love romance that ignites the heart on fire and brings on the dreamy sighs and swoons-- be sure to pick up Only in Your Dreams. You're going to love it!
Thank you to NetGalley and for this complimentary copy, I leave this honest review voluntarily.
I absolutely loved this book! Madison Wright you have definitely been added to my favorites author list! I could relate to Finley so much and what she was going through. I loved how they weaved Grey into the story and without giving too much away how they become each other savior throughout the book! It was such a beautiful book. Cover is gorgeous and storyline was fast paced and enjoyable. You wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen. Loved the flower store aspect as well. Perfect romantic book to curl up with especially if you’re in a reading slump. Would also make a cute movie as well!!
4 stars
This was super sweet.
I adore childhood friends to lovers, and these two were the cutest thing I've ever read.
Finley was great eventho. I wish she was less... let's just say I'm so happy that, by the way, she stood up for herself with the people that took advantage of her.
Grey... that man is the greenest flag ever. Cinnamon rolls through and through. I adored him. He made me tear up more than once.
The overall story was sweet, and I'm happy how they both help each other grow and be stronger individuals.
I love MW writing, and this was just as amazing as her other books.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Adorable and sweet! This reminded me of a Sarah Adams book. Its a closed door romance, and heads up it is also book two in an interconnected but sort of standalone series.
Full of brother's best friend and 'he falls first' goodness, Only In Your Dreams is a perfectly cozy small town romance for anyone looking for a light read. I had a great time reading it as well as book one, and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a charming book to put them in a good mood.
ONLY IN YOUR DREAMS by Madison Wright ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is an easy romcom with two very likable main characters! Watching them open up and fall in love was satisfying and fun. Overall, there’s not really any conflict to resolve, and I think I predicted the entire book in the first quarter. Quick and fun, but not overly memorable.
Grey has been in love with his best friend’s younger sister, Finley, for years. He’s come to terms with the fact that she will never see him that way though. When Grey and Finley end up fake dating for her ex’s wedding, Finley starts to see him in a different light.
(Part of a series, can be read stand alone)
Pub. Date: September 27, 2024.
Perfect if you like:
•Brothers best friend.
•Fake dating.
•Likable main characters.

Small town romance, brother’s best friend, fake dating, he falls first, and he has a secret tattoo. I highly recommend reading this book if you like any of these things.
Finley and Grey have known each other for years. Grey is the best friend of Finley's brother, Holden. Grey has been in love with Finley for 15 years, but he thinks that she will never see him as anything other than her brother's womanizing best friend. Finley's boyfriend breaks up with her, and she is feeling down about herself. When her ex boyfriend comes into her flower shop and announces that he's engaged, Grey steps in to pretend to be Finley's new boyfriend.
I was really excited about the fake dating aspect, but it never really comes through. They never really fake date. I like that Grey cared so much about Finley, and he wanted to take care of her. His secret tattoo for her is so sweet too.
I was disappointed because in the first book in this series, Grey and Finley have more of an enemies vibe filled with banter. All of that disappears in this book. They don't really have an obstacles or conflict to being together.
I was expecting more, and I was left feeling like I missed out on the enemies to lovers story that I was promised.
Overall, I enjoyed the characters, and I had fun reading this sweet romance. Thanks to NetGalley for ARC of this book.
This book was pure happiness & sunshine & just made me smile from ear to ear the entire time + it was so dang swoony! It was so fun to be back in Fontana Ridge & this time with Finley & Grey (who is definitely my new fav of Madison Wrights dreamy guys). This one also felt like it was for the book lovers + the dreamers & I know I won't stop thinking about it for quite a while.
If you love any of the following, put this one on your list:
-brother's best friend + best friend's little sister
-fake dating
-she thinks he's a player but really he's been pining for her all along
-he takes care of her when she's not feeling great
-found family
-"there's only one woman I've ever wanted"
And I love all the glimpses of Wren + Holden (one in particular made me laugh out loud). Safe to say Madison has done it again & I absolutely adored this one! Put it on your list because you are gonna wanna fall in love with Grey as much as I did.
I absolutely loved Madison Wright’s “Off the Beaten Path” and I was so excited to see she followed it up with Finley’s story!
I love a childhood friends to lovers story. Especially when he falls first 15 years ago and never got back up. No spoilers here but he has a secret and when I tell you I YELLED.
Grey is a lonely and a little bit broken but he’s kind and he’s warm to the people he loves. Finley is sunshine but also her deepest fears are holding her back. What they do for each other in this story is lovely and heartwarming. They have a history so they already know each other but maybe not fully and maybe not their true selves. Watching them unlock these new parts for the other was a treat in itself. It all unfolded organically and I believed every moment of them together. His confessions and her simple reassurances were beautiful. I really loved this book.
The dedication and the way Madison Wright brought life to Poppy in the story had in me in tears. This cover is an absolute dream.

FinleyGrey, the huge serve you were!
I have been waiting for them ever since the first book in this series came out. Their crumbs got me immediately and their story didn't disappont.
I liked their development romantically but also their individual growth. Especially Finley who had a beautiful character development in this one and I was rooting so much for her.
Grey is literally the sweetest ray of sunshine and the way he has always loved and suppprted Finley was adorable.
I cannot recommend this author and this series enough!

This was really sweet!! I am such a sucker for a man who has been secretly in love for many years. I am a spice girl and this one has none, so just FYI! Regardless, I thought it was very cute and I loved the flowers + books love!!!!
i loved this book SO much. Finley and Grey were so freaking cute and beyond adorable together; their banter was top tier. i am so obsessed with them.
their story was so good; the cozy small town setting and the side characters made it all even better. once i started it i could not stop reading. every love story Madison writes is so heartwarming; her books always bring me so much joy and comfort.

I read Off the Beaten Path by Madison Wright and absolutely loved it!! I was so excited for this book to come out!
I really enjoyed this! I love Madison’s writing and the way she writes metaphors. The romance was really sweet and I loved seeing the characters from the previous book.
I did get a little bored, but over all I enjoyed my time reading it!
