101 Kitchen Secrets might as well be named 101 Kitchen Solutions. The book is broken down into three categories: saving dishes, money, and time. Some of the tips were very niche, but most were solutions to very common issues that made me think, "Huh, why did I never consider that before?" This would be a great housewarming gift or gift to new adult who had just moved out!
Thanks to Familius and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

101 Kitchen Secrets is organized into 3 sections of tips. Within those 3 sections, the facts seem somewhat random.

A snack sized kitchen tips book.
Its a quick read, with lots of small hacks for the kitchen.
I for one, plan on trying a specific tip involving the fridge and clingfilm.
Recommend.

This is a very different form of cookbook/kitchen book for me, interesting and useful with a lot of helpful hints and tips. The chapters are divided in categories which works well and makes for an interesting read and a bit of fun in the kitchen. This book is for everyone as there are hacks we can all learn from.
Thank you NetGalley and Familius for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Who wouldn't want to cut down on dishes, cost and time in the kitchen? I certainly would. This book is divided into three parts, each part addressing one of the topics - cutting down on dishes, wasting less food and cooking more efficiently. Each page has a tip or "hack" if you like. Some of them are recipes, and more of them are advice. There is no introduction, explaining the overarching theme of the book, and at times it feels more like a list than a cohesive book. Actually, this would be great as one of those "page a day" calendars, you rip of a page each day and get a new tip. This book would be great for someone setting up home for the first time, because many of the things that are suggested I've learnt already, but I've been around for a while!

Jason Goldstein is a Chiropractor by day and a food blogger by night. He has come up with lots of practical advice and some genius hacks! This is a brilliant guide to keep close by while cooking and will be used daily! I thank Netgalley and Familius for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I enjoyed paging through this book by Jason Goldstein. He’s included a variety of kitchen hacks that can make time in the kitchen much more efficient and cost effective. Since I’ve been baking and cooking for many years, there were some suggestions that I already use or have at least been aware of. But, this is to be expected. In some cases, his suggestions served as good reminders
However, there were also some hacks that sounded a little unrealistic and/or simply difficult to accomplish. Using tongs and a paper towel to absorb the liquid and grease after cooking ground beef sounds messy. Don’t dirty a pasta cutter when you can press out ravioli shapes with the bottom of a wine bottle sounds awkward. There are also some hacks that address problems that don’t seem to be that problematic to begin with and other hacks that simply seem to be common sense (like grate your own parmesan cheese to save money).
The book has a format that offers a somewhat unusual approach. There are three chapters – Save Dishes, Save Money, and Save Time. This is easy to browse, but more difficult if you’re trying to find a suggestion for a particular situation.
Overall, 101 Kitchen Secrets was fun to read and contemplate. Now, I hope I can remember some of the hacks so I can apply them in my own kitchen. NetGalley provided an advance reader copy.

Thank you NetGalley and Familius. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I like the simple design of this book. I don't like that everything was written in all capital lettering. It is a lot harder for people with vision imparement, or dyslexia to read. I was struggling with eye strain towards the end. I think it would be a fun coffee table book for guests to browse though.
Most of the tips sounded great, and were easy to understand. Unfortunately there were a few I've tried before reading this book that didn't work out, so my feelings are a little mixed.

There were a lot of great tips in this book. Some I had never heard of before, like storing stretch wrap in the fridge because it won’t stick to itself. This would make a great gift for someone who likes to cook!

This book offers some helpful tips, particularly in the second section, which emphasizes how saving money can often go hand-in-hand with reducing food waste—a thoughtful contrast to the first section, where some dish-saving techniques lean more heavily on disposable plastic. For those who already spend a lot of time in the kitchen, the ideas here may not feel groundbreaking. However, it could make a lovely gift for someone just starting their cooking journey or moving into their first home.
I will say, the caramelized onion hack is definitely one I'll be trying!

101 Kitchen Secrets by Jason Goldstein (food blogger through Chop Happy) is just what it sounds like; a helpful reference guide divided into sections for saving time, saving money, and saving dishes. The cover, font choices, and design are simple and easy to read, making it perfect for keeping with your cookbooks and handy to keep and pull out. The first section for saving dishes offers various methods for using disposable items or changing the order of cooking items. The second section on saving money has options for making items cheaply or making ingredients last a little longer. The third section on saving time gives tips on easier and faster ways to prep ingredients and cook meals faster. Even though I do really enjoy cooking, some of the tasks that come along with it like cleaning and prepping take a lot of time and energy. This book is full of super helpful tips to make the process faster, easier, and cheaper from home, so that less of my budget is spent on eating out. I am glad I found this book and will definitely keep it in mind as a dinner party gift for friends in the future! Always looking for clever and helpful guides like this. Best regards!
Lastly, a big thanks to the author, Jason Goldstein, the publisher, Familius, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read 101 Kitchen Secrets. I will share my review to Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble as well.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. There were some great hacks in here that are easy to incorporate.

The Kitchen Secrets are divided into categories such as Save Dishes. Some are new to me such as Secret 3 Couscous in that category. Secret #36 in the Save Money category has a trustworthy recipe for making your own sun-dried tomatoes that tasted just right. Secret #82 in the Save Time category not only saves time, but it’s much safer. This book would make a great gift for someone you know loves to cook or just began cooking.

This was a fun and enjoyable read. While I am not familiar with Jason’s @chophappy account, this book will make me check it out. I am an experienced cook and found some of these hacks to be of great use and others to be excellent reminders of how to be more efficient in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this to someone new to cooking as there are many ways in which this could make their lives easier. Many thanks to Familius Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

It is what the title says it’s gonna be, but im not sure i love the format. Had some nice new things i didn’t know but overall maybe a little too basic

This was a fun quick read that had great informative tips and tricks for newbies to the kitchen. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the free ARC.

This guide stands out for its clear organization and accessibility. Unlike other timesaving books that feel cluttered or overwhelming, 101 Kitchen Secrets gets right to the point. I especially loved the Kindle edition, which made it easy to bookmark my favorite hacks for quick reference. Ideas like using pesto as a salad dressing base, juicing lemons upside down to avoid seeds, and swapping frozen ravioli for lasagna noodles were game-changers for me.
This book isn’t just about the kitchen—it’s a true lifesaver for anyone juggling a hectic schedule. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a novice, you’ll find plenty of clever tricks to streamline meal prep. It’s also an excellent gift for new homeowners or young adults just starting out on their own.

This was fun and informative. I learned a few new kitchen hacks (and saw some that I've been using for years). Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

In this little book. Jason Goldstein (better known as @chophappy on Instagram) gives his top hacks to help us upgrade our cooking skills to use fewer dishes, save money, and spend less time cooking.
I would consider myself a pretty competent and efficient cook, but I was blown away by some of the hacks in this book that are so simple and yet so helpful! My favourite tip in each section were: to use tinfoil to make a breading station so you can roll it up and throw it away afterwards (easy cleanup), you can freeze Parmesan and grate it from frozen (so you never have to throw out rotten Parmesan again), and the six-minute salmon recipe (saves time).
A recommended read for home chefs who are short on time!
Thank you to NetGalley and Familius for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the title of this book. I mean after so many years of cooking, what “hack” can you possibly learn. Well, turns out a lot! I got some great ideas from this book.
