It was really, very short. The ghost stories were interesting and the ink drawings were lovely. I, however, prefer a little more meat to stories. It simply wasn't really what I expected. I enjoyed it anyway, but it is so super short.

An informational and well-selected booklet that is beautifully illustrated to boot. I can see this doing very well in coastal town bookshops. The stories are short and I've not heard the majority of them before.

This is great because it's a ghost tour, and every entry feels like it could be real. The entries are short and the drawings fit the mood perfectly. I felt like ghosts could be real while I was following along the coast experiencing each creepy encounter.

This was a fantastic read and came just in time for spooky season! I love ghost stories and really liked that the stories took place on the Atlantic cost of Canada. The artwork is gorgeous and compliments each story well. I found myself looking up most of the stories mentioned in the book. This book is perfect for children and adults.

This is a perfect book for spooky season or anyone looking for some good ghost stories! I felt like I was on a ghost tour in Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island. The sketches were well-done and captured each of the ghostly legends the author chose to include. Each story is only a page long, I only wished that they could’ve included more! I hope the author continues this series!

This is a delightful collection of short ghost stories, each no longer than a page. Despite the spooky theme, the stories are more charming than scary, making it a perfect read for both kids and adults.

What truly sets this book apart are the stunning illustrations that accompany each tale. The artwork beautifully captures the essence of each story, adding a visual to the reading.

I highly recommend “Atlantic Ghosts” to anyone who enjoys ghost stories. It’s a beautifully crafted book that offers a cozy, haunting experience without being over the top scary.

4.5 stars

This is a beautifully rendered book of haunted tales from the Atlantic coast of Canada. Each tale has a delicate ink sketch that the author drew (I believe it was initially a social media Inktober challenge?) but they decided to collate all the sketches together with the spooky tales that inspired them. Since I'm from Canada I was familiar with a handful of the stories already but not being located on the East Coast myself, there were quite a few chilling tales of which I had been previously unaware. Booo!

I think this would make a really lovely coffee table book; the drawings are so finely rendered and the stories that coincide are only a page each, making it easy to browse through and devour some eerie Canadian Maritimes folklore...

Thanks to NetGalley, author Bee Stanton, and Nimbus Publishing for giving me access to a free digital advanced readers copy of the book to read and review. All opinions are my own and are provided here voluntarily.

3.5 stars - Sparked by the author's love of Inktober, this book is a collection of beautiful pen-and-ink illustrations paired with some of Atlantic Canada's infamous, spooky folklore. The tales themselves were entertaining, split between the heartwarming and the ominous, but often felt too short to really fall into, but the drawings added a depth that I really appreciated. Overall an enjoyable and interesting look at the haunted coast and ghosts of the North Atlantic.
