This book follows three sisters Mia, Hazel, & Teyona who’s going through family issues due to their parents past especially their father. There was a lot of mystery & manipulation going on throughout the story because of the decisions that the father made that caused so much destruction. He owns a very profitable business & Mia is his muse trying to follow his footsteps in the pharmacy. Hazel stood out the most because she didn’t care anything of what her dad said or wanted & nothing Teyona did ever impressed him. I think where the story felt like it lost my interest was because the character development wasn’t there. As soon as the story seemed to all come together at the end it came off very rushed. I enjoyed so many other books by this author & can’t wait to read more from her but this one wasn’t a favorite of mine. Complimentary copy is appreciated & all opinions are all of my own.

I enjoyed this read. It was a little slower paced than expected and didn’t get super interesting until around sixty percent. The back story was interesting and I enjoyed the sisters bond. I also enjoyed the spicy scenes and the banter between certain characters. Overall it was enjoyable but could have benefited from some updates to the pacing.

This was a great read to me, when you can't put the book down because you want to know what's going to happen next. This story follow three sisters, who seemed very close due to sharing a room since young. However after an incident between the mom and the dad, it divides the family a bit because one sister decided to go her own route with her career while the other two followed the dad & how are we just ignoring what the dad did to the mom and moving along with life.

But anyways, the family is well known however with the many day secrets and successful career paths chosen, what happens when all the bad things come from the dark and end up in the light? Will the family survive?

This book follows the Grant sisters, Mia, Hazel, and Teyona.
We start off with flashback of the sister's parents and the night that forever changed the way the Grant family. The story has several twist and turns and is suspenseful. I couldn't understand Mia and her father's dynamic because ain't no way l'm gonna act like my Dad ain't do my mom wrong but push it outta my mind. I couldn't stand Matthew and the mother, Kimberly, had me side-eying her as well.
I definitely felt the suspense but this also didn't feel like a normal BriAnn Danae book. I am a fan of her writing but the ending felt a bit rushed and had me re reading because it moved so fast at the end. Also I felt that the name of the book did not match the story. I was expecting something more urban due to the title but it just wasn't. If you are looking for a fast pace suspense book with a little urban feel you'd definitely enjoy this book.

This was such an intriguing read!

Loved the sister dynamic and the suspense. It was really well executed. And as someone who doesn't really like mystery kind of things, this was really excellent and had all of the family messiness I wanted there to be. All of the sisters were developped well, and I had a real sense as to who they were as people.

Just all around really excellent writing, really great character work, and a fun read.

Thank you to Black Odyssey Publishing and Netgalley for an e-copy.

Book Title: Jack Girlz Atlanta
Author: BriAnn Danae

I was expecting a different book based on the cover. Cover and title gives urban fiction or maybe an action packed crime drama, but it was not that.
This story follows 3 well bred privileged sisters into their families web of lies and secrets. We follow them as they attempt to uncover buried secrets lies and betrayal that will shake the very core of their family. I began to wonder if they are smart enough to figure it out before it’s too late. We follow them as the sister bond is tested, and as the rabbit hole gets deeper. I thought I had it figured out… I was close but the was differently a turn I didn’t see them taking. The story telling was a slow incline but that peak was steep! I was a little lost in the beginning trying to figure out where the story was going and getting a grasp of the relationship in this family and the men they were surrounded by. The story does grab you and you become obsessed with the connecting the pieces and I enjoyed that aspect.

A Thrilling Ride with a Few Bumps Along the Way

⭐⭐⭐.75

Briann Danae’s Jack Girlz Atlanta immediately piqued my interest—not just because of its intriguing plot but also because Danae’s pen game is always strong. This book took a different direction from what I’m used to from her, and while I appreciate the bold storytelling, I found myself wishing I loved it more than I did.

The suspense was gripping, and I was fully invested in unraveling the mystery surrounding the Grant family. What was really going on, and why was their past coming back to haunt them? The twists kept me turning the pages, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that the pacing was a bit uneven. The multiple timelines and shifting POVs within the same chapter sometimes made it feel chaotic rather than immersive.

Character development, one of Danae’s usual strengths, felt a bit underwhelming here. I wanted to connect more deeply with the characters, but we didn’t get enough time to truly understand them. There were also storylines that could have been further explored to enhance the tension and make the big reveal more impactful. When the truth finally came out, it felt rushed and didn’t land with the intensity I was hoping for.

Despite these hiccups, Jack Girlz Atlanta was an engaging read, and I’m excited to see how Danae continues to evolve as a writer. If you enjoy suspense with plenty of drama, this one is still worth checking out!

BriAnn Danae continues to draw her readers in with her captivating storylines. From the beginning of the book I was intrigued with what was coming next. The way the storyline unfolded more and more each chapter made for a good read. I admired how through everything, the Grant sisters never folded on each other. Mia, Hazel, and Teyona continued to show up for each other even as they were going through their own personal woes of life. Their parents dark past suddenly beginning to come to the light is shaking up the sisters’ world, leaving them to question whether their parents are who they always thought they were. Especially their mother. The Grants are a great example of how “the perfect family” holds the darkest secrets. If you like some thriller/suspense, family secrets, sibling bonds, and multiple pov, I would recommend.

What’s done in the dark will eventually come to the light. Something that started off as a quick get up lasted longer than the girls expected. While trying to keep their own secrets of the deception hidden, the girls begin to learn about some family secrets that they were unaware about. They being searching for answers and learn the people they thought they could trust they couldn’t. This was a crazy ride and I will say I was pleased with the ending.

Jack Girlz Alanta by Briann Danae is a romantic suspense that follows sisters Hazel, Teyona, and Mia as they navigate the consequences of their father's troubled past. As the sisters uncover long-buried family secrets, they are thrust into a world of danger and intrigue, making for an engaging mystery. I was hooked from page one, and I appreciated the unique Black family background centered around a unique economic background involving a pharmaceutical empire.
I loved the sisterhood and bon within the sister group, despite their own personal challenges they always stuck by each other no matter what and that is true sisterhood. My favorite sister was Hazel, it was as if she was the black sheep of the family because she went against conformity and stood her ground on being her own unique self and I loved that for her
The suspense in this book was thick as fog from beginning to end and I was waiting for more action overall. The ending came abruptly and I felt like there should have been more.
Overall, while I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense and the portrayal of strong female leads, the rushed elements made me lack full enjoyment but I had high hopes going into this read. It’s definitely different from the authors previous works.
3 star rating and I would recommend. Thank You to Black Odyssey Media via Netgalley for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was an interesting story that had me guessing throughout, trying to figure out who was behind everything happening to these sisters. I guessed a few things correctly, and a couple of others surprised me.

In this story, we follow 3 sisters as their world begins to unravel because of the secrets of their parents. Mia is the medical career sister who's also afraid to speak up for herself and does whatever their insufferable father wants, choosing to view him through rose colored lenses. Hazel is the artistic sister who sees their father for exactly who he is and takes no shit. She's determined to make her own way in the world and be the black sheep while loving her mother fiercely. Teyona is the baby of the bunch and is unfortunately stuck constantly seeking validation from their emotionally unavailable father.

Once trouble comes looking for them in separate ways, these sisters much figure out how to stop holding on to secrets and work together to save their family. While I enjoyed the twists and turns, I wish some of the timelines had been made a bit clearer. I liked the multiple pov chapters, but sometimes it felt a bit muddled as the povs would change in the middle of some of the chapters/ paragraphs, and this had the effect of disorientation Also, getting the povs of some of the main characters did help to explain some of their feelings and motivations, but they never truly felt like fully realized people. I would have loved to know more about Hazel's boyfriend and his handling of the blackmail.
