This book is a fantastic resource. It’s not explicitly about how to prioritize your relationship over other things in life, as that title would suggest, but discussing each other’s priorities with your partner will help you strengthen and prioritize your relationship. This book is thoughtful and extremely thorough. Its two biggest strengths are its practical, specific tips and its focus on compassionate curiosity.

While the TDS difference scale numbers themselves feel a bit arbitrary to me, the key is having discussions about why a certain area of life is more or less important to each person. Nick Brancato is absolutely right that those discussions should be approached with a desire to understand one’s partner - not a desire to fix him or her. Brancato then offers great practical tips for how to have those discussions and how to align with your partner even if your priorities are different.

While the book is a bit repetitive, that makes its points even clearer. I definitely recommend it to couples and have already used it to have some great conversations with my spouse. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
