Nessie, who is the resident of the Loch, is worried about the garbage that is piling up around the shores of her loch, and the loch itself! As she swims her way to meet her sheep friends and their newborn lambs. But disaster strikes before she can reach the shore.

Nessie’s sheep friends along with the newborn twins Clover and Cloud cast their eyes over the meadow towards the loch, waiting for Nessie to arrive, but she doesn’t for two whole days, worrying her sheep friends.

Clover and Cloud, who were told by their sheep parents that they can always rely on Nessie for help when they are in trouble, decide to go to the shore to search for Nessie along with their friends Buttercup and Toad.

The Lamb Gang is stunned to see Nessie struggling to breathe, lying on the shore, something lodged in her throat and put their heads together and come up with a plan to rescue Nessie, in what I may term is a very ingenious method.

I enjoyed reading the book. It comes with a strong anti-littering message, and a message to save the planet. Thomas is an advocate for preserving and conserving nature, and she likes to empower children to do the same through the stories she writes for them.

Her latest is an inspiring tale about empowering children to not litter, but to also develop and build empathy for animals and landscapes and encourage kids to become eco-warriors!

I liked how Thomas has some of the text in bold… emphasizing the stress on the words — excellent practice for those learning to read or just for parents or the kids to make funny noises as they read the book out loud. The prose is simple, repetitive, in rhyming meter to help young children with their reading, and adds that whimsical sense of play to reading.

In The Lamb Gang Saves the Loch Ness Monster we meet the Lamb Gang on their first adventure. When they hear that a mysterious monster washed up on the shores of Loch Ness. the Lamb Gang immediately rushes to its rescue.

This is a cute debut and a welcome addition for preschool through early elementary school aged children. They designed the font and layout to support the needs of both the reluctant reader and those with dyslexia. This is an enjoyable debut

This is a children's book about the Loch Ness Monster and environmentalism. While I enjoyed the plot, each chapter was very repetitive and took away from the story.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! A cute beginning chapter book for elementary readers. I like how the sheep helped the lochness monster even when they were scared of the tale of the lochness monster. This story comes with a good message of keeping our earth clean! I liked the little pictures throughout the book- this makes it intriguing for those kiddos who are just starting to move onto chapter books.

The Lamb Gang Save the Loch Ness Monster is a well-written story about a very important message: saving the planet and stopping littering in its tracks. The story follows a group of clever little lambs who manage to save the Loch Ness Monster from choking on a plastic bottle. Through this, they learn a powerful message: it is up to them to protect the planet and inspire others to do so as well.

With its rhymes and repetition, this novel is an engaging tool for teaching children the importance of taking care of their planet.

A well-meaning and cute story with a good message.
3.5 stars.
I am glad it was dyslexia friendly, and I appreciate the unique take with Loch Ness Monster and the environmental messages. Could be good for classrooms.

The Lamb Gang Save the Loch Ness Monster is a well illustrated cute book which will introduce young readers to the story of the Loch Ness monster as well as the concept of taking care of the environment. However the way it is written involves some badly placed rhyming which I don’t think worked or was needed. I like rhyming in a picture book but this is a little long to include random rhyming and I don’t think it worked.

A book written in a way that you have a story, but it also explains some of the ways humans are hurting the environment and animals, like littering. This book explains it in a way that children can understand. I think children will really enjoy the pictures and the Loch Ness monster getting saved!

I thought this was so adorable!! First of all, the illustrations are so cute and I love how everything was spaced out. The characters are adorable, but what really made this book stand out was that it emphasized the importance of keeping the planet clean. This message was delivered in such a cute, fun way throughout the book and I think many children could easily understand it, while appreciating the entertaining animal characters and their dialogue! We definitely need more books like this in the world!

I love this little community of animals with a Scottish highlands flavour. The visuals conjured by the text are amazing — the Scottish sceneries come to life. I loved the angle of Nessie getting sick and the larger environmental message.

I really liked the illustrations in this book! It's definitely a cute story, but the animal noises in writing is a bit too much at times and can be distracting. Still a well-written children's book!

Proof that the best of intentions cannot guarantee the best book. This has some lambs getting together and cleaning up Loch Ness, because if the waters are getting too gunky and mucky and clogged with plastic for such an ancient critter as Nessie, they're certainly not good news for humans, lambs or anything else. The issue is, this is supposed to be dyslexia-friendly, and I seriously doubt that – we have words where the type size changes from letter to letter, we have a daft way of using bold font for words to stand out, and the whole thing is pretty much in narrative verse, where no two lines have anything like the same rhythm but crunch a rhyme in anyway, in a most annoying way. (Yeah – a bit like that.)

So while it may just be the adult me railing against the verse, I don't see the other problems I mention exactly helping anyone – it's not exactly what Barrington Stoke do with their texts, is it now? Now, someone with far too many letters after their name has come on board to say they approve, so I must be wrong, but I don't feel it helps much – and I stand my ground over the major irritant of the rhyming. I wanted a nice, charming whimsy about eco-minded animals showing us humans up, but got annoyed instead.

I think this is a great story with an important message. Using fantastic illustrations and rhymes, they make the importance of picking up after yourself accessible for kiddos.

I gave it four stars because what happens to the loch ness monster is a little graphic for kids. Also, I found myself kind of skimming the lamb parts because I wanted to get back to the loch ness.

Not Being a Litterbug

The Lamb Gang is all about spreading the word to save our planet. Animals were even written with cute little accents. The International Litter Pickers Wanted was so perfect-it’s a lifestyle. Such a wonderful impression to make on young minds to not litter and be proactive when they see any to pick up.

I received a free copy of this book from Safari Thomas and BooksGoSocial. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

This was an adorably sweet story about sheep saving the Loch Ness monster from litter the humans carelessly deposit in their environment.

The formatting and illustrations made it a breeze to read through, and this would be a really fun book to look forward to reading with kiddos chapter by chapter (or Bhhhaaahhh by Bhhhaaahhh.).

My favorite was the illustration at the end of the lamb gang holding the "litter pickers wanted" sign. A sweet approach to a poignant conversation.

The Lamb Gang Save the Loch Ness Monster is not only a sort of silly story with cute illustrations of lambs and Nessie, it also shares a message of keeping the environment clean and doing your part to help the world. I liked that it included information at the end about how to be a helper. This would be a good book for early elementary aged kids.

Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an egalley of this book for an honest review.
