Inspirational, lovely and legendary.
Very good Illustrations and well covered bio of David Beckham.
As always, the author nails it with Little People Big Dreams series!
This is probably my 30 or 40th book in the series. Still loving it.
This was another great book from Quarto publishing about well known figures. Like the other books in this series I enjoyed the illustrations. I also enjoyed learning more about David Beckham
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy
David loved to play soccer and kept getting better at it the more he practiced and played. Most things went very well for him and he won awards and worked with other soccer stars to globalize the game.
The illustrations by Fernando Marti are simple, colorful, and expressive.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!

Little People, Big Dreams series is a must read for the smallest members of your family (or big people!)
I don't think there is a person in the world who hasn't heard of David Beckham. The story tells of his humble beginnings to being one of the biggest names. . As always with this series the language is simple yet still tells the readers the important information about the person's life. The illustrations work seamlessy with the words to tell the story which will help readers of all abilities.
A must have for soccer/football fans.
Great for the little soccer fans wanting to learn more about some of their idols or known athletes. Anytime I end up reading a book from this series I feel like I learn something new as well.
I love these books. They are super cute and informative. I knew next to nothing about David Beckham, so I was definitely able to learn something from reading this.
An excellent mini book in the 'Little People, Big Dreams' series.
I can imagine this being distributed in bookshops, libraries and schools across the world and inspiring children to have been dreams, and that many people have achieved goals once thought impossible.
Every book I read in this series is always excellent, and the illustrations would really keep a child's attention.
4 stars! A great small read with the lovely addition of a timeline at the end!
David Beckham is a talented British soccer player who grew up dreaming of scoring goals for his favorite team, Manchester United. He spent years playing for local clubs and joined Manchester United’s youth academy as a teen. After entering the first team under Coach Alex Ferguson, they won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in a single season. He became captain of the England team and a hero to people across his country. Away from soccer, David fell in love with Victoria, a superstar singer known as Posh Spice. They got married and started a family. He upset his fans when he left England to play for Real Madrid in Spain. Then he moved to Los Angeles, California, and later back to Europe. Even after he retired, David couldn’t stay away from soccer. He started a new team, Inter Miami CF, in Florida in order to promote the sport in the United States.
This powerful book features quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the soccer player's life.
I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Very nice biography about David Beckham. I always look forward to more Little People Big Dreams books, and this was a fun one.
Great book. Enjoyed the message. I love the series Little People, Big Dreams and this book did not disappoint! I began a later fan of Beckham so enjoyed learning about some of his early years.
Thanks for the ARC! Great for budding soccer fans-encouraging for both on and off field play!
My husband played soccer in college and my five year old son and him just cherished the nights reading this book in bed! They loved to hear the real life of a professional soccer star. Beautifully done!
I love seeing a Little People, Big Dreams new release! I knew very little about the specifics of David Beckham's career prior to this book. It provides a great timeline of how he entered the sport and the choices and achievements he made within that time, as well as how he is still involved now. The illustrations are cute, as always, and the page count is perfect for young readers.
Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
I say it all the time, I am a huge fan of the Little People, Big Dreams series of books - after so many years, they still continue to bring out excellent books with excellent quality. The range now of people they have written about is immense.
I really enjoyed this book - I knew a lot about David Beckham before reading, and didn't particularly learn anything new from this, but it didn't hinder my enjoyment. The illustrations are bright and vibrant and really add to the reading experience. However, I don't think Victoria Beckham would be impressed with her illustration - it's a pretty horrendous likeness.
This was lovely to read. I love how the book also captured his haircuts throughout and spoke about how important his wife and family are to him.
This was a very nice read and will be motivational to all the little footballers.
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! This is a good informational text about the story of David Beckham and how he has changed the soccer game to what it is today. It was interesting to learn about David's early life and how he got involved with soccer. The illustrations are cute and makes this a good read for young elementary kids interested in soccer.
I am a huge soccer fan, having grown up playing the sport, so when I saw a “Little Peoples Big Dreams” on soccer legend and icon, David Beckham, I knew I needed to read it.
Having just been introduced to the “Little Peoples Big Dreams” series, I felt like this book was the perfect choice for kids to learn more about Beckham and the legacy he left behind. This book provides an approachable and appealing mini biography on David Beckham that is easy enough for kids of all ages to understand.

This is another lovely illustrated book in the 'Little People, BIG DREAMS' series. David Beckham surely shows how dreams can come true with talent and determination. The story follows David through highs and lows of his career as a professional football player. It will be inspiring for the next generation of passionate soccer players.
This is a good book, especially for kids who are interested in football (soccer) and like David Beckham. It was a great introduction, where you find out more about him. If you, after reading this book, want to learn more about him, you can go from there.
As usual very well written and the illustrations are simple, but good.
I really liked this book and my daughter loved it as her father is an avid fan of Man Utd so she loved hearing about a classic playing. The only thing I would say was the American language repeatedly put us off with “ soccer” and “backyard”.
Cleats was used and as an adult I had to google what it was so I feel boots would be a good replacement for adults and kids alike to understand more.
Love the little people big dreams series. This book explores the life of footballer, David Beckham in a way that is appealing and approachable by kids. It is a great resource for introducing children to famous people they would not otherwise be exposed to. And as always, the art is wonderful.
