Reading about food has always been a great source of comfort to me, and I feel in good company with the authors who wrote these essays. It's interesting to look back on them now and see what trends stuck around and what have long gone.

It's always fascinating to read the thoughts of those known in the food world - beyond the recipes and why things are they way they are, into their past, or a commentary about why they think the way they do. Humor is always a welcome addition, though sometimes playing it straight simply has more impact. In this collection, there are both - and they are excellent essays covering all the gamuts.

This book sounded good, but I have not been able to read it in a timely manner.
